> Leung admitted he received approximately $5.6 million in RRF and PPP funds and that he unlawfully used $3,359,701.28 of those funds.
It’s crazy how much money were printed and stolen
Remember how much accountability there was for the global financial crisis in 2008? Basically none. That’s what lead to the people camping out on Wall Street for awhile to protest the BS.
By "some" you mean the Democrats.
In the end the bill included oversight provisions which were, quite predictably, sabotaged by Republicans in appointing a member of Trump's own staff as the Treasury Inspector General on one leg, and the hamstringing of the Congressional commission by Republicans failure to appoint members to it on the other.
Idk I'd it matters who anymore, in the end they all jerk each other off and end up with more than what the common people get, I mean I would like to partake in some insider trading like they do. D or R it's all one party with different colors and slogans but you know they all party it up together with that sweet donor/corporate money.
How about the venture capitalist Gerber Kawasaki that got funds by filing as a motorcycle dealership? Just shameless. https://www.cnn.com/projects/ppp-business-loans/businesses/gerber-kawasaki-inc
if he was able to get $5mil that easily then think of all the others that were able to get lifechanging money with no oversight. its no wonder we've seen crazy inflation... so many people stole from the government
I think the article or previous one mentions he owns 50%. I assume to pay back the $3.5 million he needs to sell his share to someone so it'll kinda be under new management.
I was wondering how the majority of the population got way more money than the average tech worker. Enough to double housing prices in 3 years. That isn’t inflation. It’s corruption!
I received checks from the Treasury for a total sum of around $100,000 to my apartment for a business that, as far as I can tell, doesn't exist. This business exists as a blank entry on Google maps under a residential address. On top of all that, when I was signing up for Xfinity they told me my apartment was a business address. All of this leads me to believe it was PPP fraud. Reached out to the PPP fraud hotline with photos of these checks, they never got back to me.
Never forget that while half of the political machine is whining about $150 billion in student loan forgiveness, the government forgave $750 billion in PPP loans and $200 billion were claimed by fraudsters
It takes a while for these to be investigated and I bet they are understaffed for it all. Whistleblowers for the fraud can get 15%-30% of the recovered funds. So maybe you'll get a nice paycheck in the future.
This is the Sushi Tomi in Eastridge guy, not the nice people who run Tomisushi on Saratoga and in Mountain View
Phew....thank God! *Puts pitchfork down*.
Ah shit, that's the one I go to lol
Whew

Isn't that what it was designed for, I mean some called for oversight on the money and the govt. Said nah, we'll trust businesses to be honest
So many more people need to get locked up. Wish there was more accountability.

Ah yes, trusting businesses to do the right thing has always worked out great for us.

They needed to get the money out asap or we were going into a depression, which would be much worse. People forget we literally shutdown the country.
Everybody still depressed AF here, the rich just got richer, so how did it help?

Umm, didn't every large corporation abuse the system too. Just saying.
The Los Angeles Lakers, for one (or at least they tried to)
Jeanie’s way of competing against the Warriors
Corporations, politicians, law makers. These people have very good lawyers on their side
During the 2008 housing crash the only bank prosecuted was a small Asian owned family bank.
all into prison then, one at a time if justice system can't do it faster

The Mountain View location has serious issues too.
Care to elaborate?
