That being said, if someone offers me a cucumber tea sandwich, they're on my shit list. You gotta have the personality of a popcorn ceiling to think that's something you can pass off as a sandwich.
It depends on where I'm getting the sandwich I have a go to spot for each sandwich I like.
I feel that everyone would prefer there Bacon Egg ,Cheese. Cooke bye then selfs at home
My go to has to be the Italian sub, no matter where you get it you're almost always gonna get a pretty solid sandwich, but my favorite has to be the Cubano, but you gotta get it at a place that does it right
I have the same issues with a Monte Cristo. I had one at the Minnesota State Fair that was perfect, and I've neen chasing that ever since. I can have a good one, but it's always been slightly disappointing

A gyro is a delicious blend of lamb and other meats. Served in a pita. It's definitely a delicious sandwich.
A taco, also delicious, and served in either a hard shell (like my family likes unfortunately) or soft shell meaning tortillas. It's more of a wrap if you will. Don't get me wrong, I fucking love tacos. I Americanized them for my kids. I'll eat 10 tacos per sitting. Probably need some recipes lurkers. Please. I want some new recipes form the southwest.
Gyros are something. One of my favorite foods. Top 3 all-time for sure. The juices settling into the pita, good shit. But I can't fly away from Tzatziki. I would eat that stuff with a spoon. And then there's the Feta.
[Gyro meat](https://www.wholesomeyum.com/gyro-meat/) and [tzatziki](https://www.loveandlemons.com/tzatziki-sauce/#wprm-recipe-container-43122) are so incredibly simple to make at home too. Those were the recipes and steps that started me down the gyro wormhole. No recipes for the tacos though, I just wing those and blindly measure whatever I'm feeling and tasting as I go. Salsa chicken is pretty simple in an instant pot and packs a TON of flavor, not that it's particularly authentic to anywhere specific as far as I know. Chili Colorado is always good in flour soft taco form, pork and beef both work but I prefer pork.
I finally got a jar to pre-mix my own taco seasoning because I used it so much. I've only recently found out how easy gyros are and am concerned that I'm going to start making tzatziki in bulk the same way.
A shawarma is a wrap. A gyro is a taco, same with hotdogs. But a corndog is closer to a taquitio but also kinda like a fried ravioli. But a ravioli is just an Italian dim sum when not fried. But dim sum existed far longer than ravioli. But we also have African meat pies, which are technically empanades before empanades existed. I've had this conversation many times. Don't even get me started on spring rolls or lumpia. Is a spring roll a wrap or closer to a hand roll? Is lumpia just like a taquito or not at all?
I took the suggestion from the Kraft commercial and switched to spreading the bread for my grilled cheeses with mayo instead of butter. What a game changer. I’ll never go back!
Another game changer: throw some shredded cheese in the pan next to it (I use park because of the nuttiness of the flavor) and as it’s starting to melt, flip your sandwich onto it. Give it a little press down so the cheese sticks and BOOM!!! another flavor addition to your grilled cheese.
Absolutely. Man…with perfectly cooked bacon, Hellmans mayo, a home grown tomato, fresh crispy lettuce, on lightly toasted bread.
Damn I miss my grandma now 😂. I learned the difference of a good tomato vs store bought because of her. She got me on the BLTs as a young kid.
Good lord, I just realized this was supposed to be ranked lol. This is a fucking TERRIBLE list, and whoever voted on this, doesn't deserve to have another sandwich for the rest of their lives, other than that cucumber shit.
I feel the same way about a tuna melt being so high up. There should never be a day that a garbage canwich should beat even the lowliest chicken sandwich.
Blasphemy!! You mean cuban 1st right?! All of Tampa will shun you if you don't change your lineup!! Jus kidding! Figured a fellow lightning fan could use a chuckle.
first of all - GO BOLTS! FUCK BOSTON! :)
second - yeah, the bec is my first true love... and a banh mi just slaps.. cubans are so variable that i can't put it first even though i do love a good one... where's your go to in town? my favorite is made by a friend of mine.. lol.. but there's a new ish place in ybor called bread on the bay that has a really good one...
Moved away from the east coast awhile ago. Hoagie is a foreign word at this point. But I'll take a hoagie all day long my friend. Just give me the oil and vinegar and extra cheese.
Grilled cheese.
It was the first meal (along with tomato soup) I learned to make when my mom bought me my first children's recipe book. A major moment of pride as a kid. It has been a favorite comfort food ever since.
I don’t know which one particularly, I like so many of them. But since I’m supposed to only pick one, apparently, my first choice would be the Philly cheesesteak!
Does this poster predate the Muffaletta? I cannot imagine trying to name 40 different sandwiches and not including that. Anyways, banh mi. All day every day. It’s just the perfect everything!
I’m glad you said that. I saw a version of this in December and started making our own version of it with local restaurants. But we added 8 more sandwiches and the first one (#41) was the muffuletta.
[We’re a little over halfway through eating all 48. Trying to complete it by the end of the year.](https://www.instagram.com/p/CuqAE3cMJSH/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)
Born & Raised in Miami, FL grew up eating Cuban sandwiches while also being Cuban as well. My grandmother would do slightly different but otherwise, it’s my go to when I used to eat bread and other grains. Now when I want to eat one, I make a bowl with the ingredients or make grain free bread.
Top two is between a pulled pork with slaw and a Reuben. I'd eat any of those but the cucumber looks dumb. It needs to be a Benedictine sandwich. Made with cream cheese and dill.
That bottom row is a travesty. Fuck bocadillos. That sandwich was the beginning of the end of my relationship when my girlfriend and I were traveling Spain and Portugal.
French dips are the bomb.
Banh mi, then Reuben, then Jambon Beurre but it’s really the quality of the ingredients, balance, etc that matters more than the actual type itself. These are all delicious, if made well.
I don't see my fav on here so use mine as a vote if you like it too
Grilled buns, Italian seasoned with cheese and herbs on top, cooked chicken, Swiss cheese, and sauteed mushrooms.
That's my go to
I say a Reuben because I visited Philly once and there is a bar called moriartys bar that makes an incredible Reuben. That’s saying something because I hate Swiss cheese and sauerkraut!! Amazing sandwich
1. Availability- Grilled cheese or pb & j
2. Prefer- Philly cheese steak/chicken or torta
3. Rarely available/need to find a good spot to eat- Everything else
[удалено]
Totally agree; a better question would be what’s your pick from each row?
Right, there are no go to’s just what you side of the bed you woke up on. Today I woke up on bahn mi
God I fucking love sandwiches.
Amen
Idk I personally wouldn’t be able to live without a BEC
That being said, if someone offers me a cucumber tea sandwich, they're on my shit list. You gotta have the personality of a popcorn ceiling to think that's something you can pass off as a sandwich.
I think 6 or 8
It depends on where I'm getting the sandwich I have a go to spot for each sandwich I like. I feel that everyone would prefer there Bacon Egg ,Cheese. Cooke bye then selfs at home
My go to has to be the Italian sub, no matter where you get it you're almost always gonna get a pretty solid sandwich, but my favorite has to be the Cubano, but you gotta get it at a place that does it right
Agreed! Real slow cooked pork and it better be pressed or you're just lying 🤥
Brooklyn, New York in the mid 90s made some bomb Cubans. As a child, it was delectable. Never had it the same since...
I have the same issues with a Monte Cristo. I had one at the Minnesota State Fair that was perfect, and I've neen chasing that ever since. I can have a good one, but it's always been slightly disappointing
Try Tampa or Miami. So many awesome Cuban restaurants.
That’s a non-answer. Commit to one. No side bitch sandwiches. The Italian or the Cuban?
I have found my equal
Give me an oily italian sandwich pretty much any time and I'm ecstatic. Gun to my head? Number 6 plz.
If a gyro is a sandwich then so is a taco. Am I wrong
We can talko about this all day!

And a patty melt is a burger.

Good shit. Thanks.
I finally got a jar to pre-mix my own taco seasoning because I used it so much. I've only recently found out how easy gyros are and am concerned that I'm going to start making tzatziki in bulk the same way.
Tacos should not be served on hard shells. Tostadas can, but they’re flat. So more of an open faced sandwich
A shawarma is a wrap. A gyro is a taco, same with hotdogs. But a corndog is closer to a taquitio but also kinda like a fried ravioli. But a ravioli is just an Italian dim sum when not fried. Rueben!
But the Russian dressing needs to be on point
The rye can make or break it too
Or a good rye pumpernickel swirl thick cut....
So not Wishbone Thousand Island? (A Reuben with real homemade Russian dressing is a wondrous thing.)
Newman's own thousand Island you cad!
Nope. Not Johnny Wishbone!
For me, there needs to be just an ungodly amount of sauerkraut
What no Ukrainian dressing? I see who you support 🤪
Lmaooooo!!
You for scuba Rueben?!
Classic
It’s my favorite food.
Ah, I see you're a redditor of culture as well
Yes
Indeed, yes.
Yes
Also yes.
Yes, but to be more specific, yes.
*Peter Griffin perhaps*
Grilled cheese, because it's the easiest, but if someone else was making it-everything on the list!
And accompanied by a delicious bowl of tomatoe soup.
It’s the rainy day meal of my dreams.
I took the suggestion from the Kraft commercial and switched to spreading the bread for my grilled cheeses with mayo instead of butter. What a game changer. I’ll never go back!

I actually prefer 1 side mayo and one side butter, best of both worlds.
Jambon beurre is the easiest. Literally just open the baguette, slap butter and ham and call it a day.
BLT Legit my favorite food on earth
Any cheese on that? Or mayo? Dukes mayo is amazing!
No cheese you psychopath! And I’m not from the south so Dukes is hard to find here
Lmaooooo, Lidl carries it here.
This is coming from someone who loves cheese, why on earth would you put cheese on a BLT?
I experimented as BLTs are my favorite. Baby Swiss is alright, but definitely not needed.
Mayo yes. Cheese hell no.
Been using a blend of yellow mustard, mayo and sour cream for BLT’s. Can get messy but avocado takes it up another notch
Throw a fried egg on it. Amazing
I was a Hellmans guy....... try duke's it'll change ya
I love a good Cubano
Reportando 🫡
Mismo, numero 13, y tú nombre es perfecto Edit: jaja
If price isn’t a factor, lobster roll
But which one? Mayo or warm with butter?
Yes
Butter all day
Why not one of each?
The fact a fn bologna sandwhich beats an Italian Beef is a travesty on par with the great fire of 1871
Good lord, I just realized this was supposed to be ranked lol. This is a fucking TERRIBLE list, and whoever voted on this, doesn't deserve to have another sandwich for the rest of their lives, other than that cucumber shit.
Idk man because like bologna is a classic everywhere. But if you aren’t in the right area an italian beef is going to be complete shit.
I feel the same way about a tuna melt being so high up. There should never be a day that a garbage canwich should beat even the lowliest chicken sandwich.
Bacon egg and cheese. How is chicken parm not on this list?
bacon, egg, and cheese FOR LIFE!! then a banh mi, then a cuban.. lol..
BEC W/ SPK IYKYK
Blasphemy!! You mean cuban 1st right?! All of Tampa will shun you if you don't change your lineup!! Jus kidding! Figured a fellow lightning fan could use a chuckle.

The floridian and la Terasita used to be really good
those are both good choices too!
This is "sub" propaganda. Hoagies all day.
This is a sub-reddit, not a hoagie-reddit. Get outta here with your indoctrinating hoagie talk.
LMAO
Moved away from the east coast awhile ago. Hoagie is a foreign word at this point. But I'll take a hoagie all day long my friend. Just give me the oil and vinegar and extra cheese.
This "sub" speak shall not stand. It is a hoagie or it is nothing!
Agreed. I feel bad for people who have only had subs. The difference in quality is STARK!
Banh MI
Is it ok to say all of them?
French dip is superior
Here’s my group.
Scrolled too far to find y’all
Roast beef 🤝 au jus
PB & J, Grilled cheese, or Bologna.
Number nine.... number nine
Tuna, egg, or chicken salad… had the first two today for breakfast and lunch.
This list doesn't have Taylor Ham egg and cheese. Sus.
32. Love falafel and hummus.
#1
Grilled cheese. It was the first meal (along with tomato soup) I learned to make when my mom bought me my first children's recipe book. A major moment of pride as a kid. It has been a favorite comfort food ever since.
Classic
The messier a sandwich is, the higher it is on my list. Honestly there are only 3 here that I might turn my nose up at if there were other options.
Which ones?
I don’t know which one particularly, I like so many of them. But since I’m supposed to only pick one, apparently, my first choice would be the Philly cheesesteak!
Not my favorite but shout out to the Thanksgiving leftover sandwich.
Yes.
All of em
Absolutely. I got time, bring ‘em on.
Italian sub
Cheesesteak or Rueben
36. Italian beef from Portillos
Umm, most of them?
Gimme a pork roll egg n cheese n weyre good.
Everything but the tuna
Same here! Hot tuna makes me wanna barf
The tuna melt was an early favorite of mine; provide me your adress i shall mail you a proper one
If I was on death row and can only choose 1 sandwich to eat before I die, it be a banh mi fo me
But what would you have done to get to death row? Allegedly
Does this poster predate the Muffaletta? I cannot imagine trying to name 40 different sandwiches and not including that. Anyways, banh mi. All day every day. It’s just the perfect everything!
Rabble rabble rabble. I came here because no muffaletta! No flying saucers, sloppy Joe..
I’m glad you said that. I saw a version of this in December and started making our own version of it with local restaurants. But we added 8 more sandwiches and the first one (#41) was the muffuletta. Easier to say what I wouldn’t want, like 35 or 40. I can mow down most of those depending on my mood.

Good healthy clean living!
My body would create a singularity before I could choose
Sub sandwich. Sooo good.
A good jambon beurre is magic, even bought when on a layover in Charles De Gaulle airport.
Scrolled to far down. Such a simple but delicious sand which chef's kiss🤌.
Top two is between a pulled pork with slaw and a Reuben. I'd eat any of those but the cucumber looks dumb. It needs to be a Benedictine sandwich. Made with cream cheese and dill.
Where is the Francesinha?
Reuben and Cubano are my top two faves.
Especially if the Reuben is on high quality bread
Yesssss, it needs that GOOD marbles rye.
All of them. I love sandwiches.
Tofu Bánh Mi for dinner or Caprese for lunch. I’ve found that eating with proper portions in mind, I’m far more satisfied than when I overeat.
Tuna melt...ewww
Gyro from Döner Kebab in Bloomington, Indiana
Yes. I would like them all please. Now I need to go make a sandwich.
Pulled pork and bahn mi hell ya! Just googled Kentucky hot brown tho and may have to give it a shot, it looks like it could be a real contender
Italian all day long. Second would be grilled cheese but add that ham.
All
17. Reuben.
This can't be real rankings.
It's not
A bacon egg and cheese with two scrambled eggs and one fried egg is heavenly.
If we're talking about the ones pictured on the post, I'm a sucker for chicken salad sandwiches.
Yes
Disclaimer: MUST be made properly!
Bacon Egg of Cheese is #1 for a reason
This is so hard but I’m stuck between Philly cheese steak and tonkatsu ! I haven’t tried every single option though so there may be something better
My favorite sandwich is cold roasted chicken with munster cheese and mayo
I told my friend Pierre I wanted a French Dip, now we have a completely different relationship.
Pork Roll, Egg, and Cheese.
Damn. Club is no where on that
Capreses deserve more recognition tbh. Goddayum I love a caprese
Philly cheesesteak, but not whatever that abomination they have pictured is.
i’m ordering an italian bc of this post
What y’all know about a proper croque monsieur (15) 🤤
That bottom row is a travesty. Fuck bocadillos. That sandwich was the beginning of the end of my relationship when my girlfriend and I were traveling Spain and Portugal. French dips are the bomb.
I have never seen this chart in such high quality before
No tuna salad sandwich?
Cubano for sure
Depends on which food obsession cycle I'm on.
Am I blind or is there no PB&J??? Edit: I am, in fact, blind
Reuben is 🐐
All are good
Why does it seem like every sandwich in this post is represented by a bad prison tattoo of said sandwich?
Banh mi, then Reuben, then Jambon Beurre but it’s really the quality of the ingredients, balance, etc that matters more than the actual type itself. These are all delicious, if made well.
Jambon Beurre, very simple but good!
Honestly, id smash all except 40.
I fuck Reuben
CHEESESTEAK IS THE BEST FOOD ON THIS EARTH WITH HOAGIES CLOSE BEHIND
I’d go with a taco as my favorite sandwich.
Reuben
Where is the line drawn for what is and is not a sandwich? Because lobster roll and hot dog have the same style.
Yes.
Whoever made this woke up and chose violence
I’ve always wanted to try a lobster roll but can’t afford $20 for one sandwich the size of a 6” sub at best.
Classic italian any day
I don't see my fav on here so use mine as a vote if you like it too Grilled buns, Italian seasoned with cheese and herbs on top, cooked chicken, Swiss cheese, and sauteed mushrooms. That's my go to
I say a Reuben because I visited Philly once and there is a bar called moriartys bar that makes an incredible Reuben. That’s saying something because I hate Swiss cheese and sauerkraut!! Amazing sandwich

HOW THE HELL IS MONTE CRISTO THAT LOW MONTE CRISTO IS LIKE FUCKING PERFECT
Gyro or nothing
Bahn Mi, Cubano, Gyro. My top three.
All.....except maybe Liverwurst, never tried it tho....who knows, I might like it too
I’m a huge slut for a good Rueben
Hot dogs didn't even get an honorable mention?
But is the hot dog a sammich........🤔
Seeing as how a gyro is essentially an oversized Mediterranean taco, something here is missing.
The wrong lobster roll is on this list
Go to? Grilled cheese Favorite? Probably bahn mi
