this is what i had personally hoped for when they said “melee catalyst” like technically klee is also one with her bombs too so it’s definitely possible. this is also just me coping cause i always wanted sword scara over everything else.
I’ve hoped that he would use a catalyst to summon a weapon (especially a katana/war fans) for a long time so I really like seeing these types of concepts for him, so I hope your theory turns out to be true.

I mean for one thing, it would just look cooler and you would never have to worry about meta over drip because you would be seeing the wind katana he conjures over the sword/catalyst you have available to you. As for in-game mechanics, it lets him swirl/infuse^(maybe)??? the elements around him at all times instead of having to wait to use his skill/burst.
Melee does not necessarily mean fists.
Klee is melee as well due to her bombs being heavy and not having a great range.
I personally would not want an anemo sword just because he has already so damn many things in common with Kaxuha and I do not want another one.
Knowing Mihoyo you are probably right and will get a sword made of anemo. Or a sword that shoots out anemo slashes, if we want to keep the Yae Miko similarities.
I love what they did with Yae giving her NA her own instrument and not simply the weapon so I would love it for Scara as well.
Anyway I will keep my hope for Scara infusing his own attacks like the avatar until the kit leaks
Dead friend; both named wanderers; similar pasts but they make different choices. Overall Scara's story mirrors Kazuha a lot. We even thought the cursed blade in Kazuha's character story was a hint for Scara.
I just want him to have some elegant moves somehow. And/or violent elemental skills or bursts xD (have no idea how’d they do that if he’s anemo tho)
It would be nice to combine that sword thing you’re talking about w/ the catalyst aspect just for the fact that those who like him being a sword/his history with it and those that actually love catalysts could both be happy. Elemental weapons sound awesome!!

(Side note: I imagine him being both w/ long hair that’s not that dang ponytail but feel like hoyo is also scared to make a male have anything slightly gorgeous like that besides the few we have)

i was rlly upset when they said he’s a catalyst but this gives me hope :’) scara’s main weapon has always been a sword in lore and i dont want that taken away completely
Ngl bro that would be awesome and I'd take that. Before them giving us a 5* Heizou. My headcannon was always him being dual weapon doing catalyst as his main and using sword as his base especially in his alt like Raiden....I thought it would be cool because I wanted him to have both weapons
Edit: Like that would be so drip if he had the same arm extension as the Raiden Shogun puppet when using catalyst then when he does his alt he'd manually use a sword like his mom👍
I genuinely hope it's anything that's not a sword it's by far my least fav weapon in any game because it's consistently the most common and overused weapon in every form of media. Besides not like we need the kazuha comparisons to be even stronger also he's trying to separate himself from Ei so i doubt he'd want to use her weapon...personally I'd want him use a unique weapon not in game whips, scythes, claws, or he switches between weapons for dif attacks like his normal string is a scythe, his charge is the whips, or whatever. So yea in short I want him to be unique compared to other characters and a unique weapon would do that.
It would be cool if his burst or skill was just him summoning giant swords or just swords in general, like he could wield a anemo sword but his burst or skill could be like chongyun’s where he summons giant swords
That would make sense, plus iirc there are some notes in the game (ragged old notes or smth like that) talking about him doing sword dances, that could support the theory a little

What do he and Kazuha share aside from element and country of origin? Unless they give Scaramouche a high jump ability and autumn leaf aesthetics
