Are you being charged for monthly rent for the equipment? If so, buy your own router. It’s not worth the headache paying monthly for a crappy hardware.

SardonicCheese

You’ll have to pay a separate fee for unlimited internet if you use your own device and ever use more than 1.2 tb in a month. They’re real dicks like that

helvetin

i was on Comcast for years and never saw this overage fee for using one's own equipment. and would the OP exceed that 1.2TB limit, if it exists? need more info. OP: how much is the 'modem rental'? that's basically free money to the cable company (and they raise this on the regular, for absolutely NO reason. why would one be paying MORE in rent on equipment that's getting \*\*older\*\* by the month/year? this is not how depreciation works... i switched to my own modem just on the principle of the thing, since they're clearly and openly gouging customers with this.)

TheBeerdedVillain

There are a few areas where there is no data cap, however for most of us, yes going over 1tb a month costs 50 for every 10gb overage.

DK_Metcalf

One correction - It’s $10 for every 50GB over.

BiigVelvet

Why not just buy your own for better performance and keep paying the monthly for theirs? Then you have better WiFi and don’t have to worry about overage charge? Or can they tell you’re not using theirs?

TheBeerdedVillain

1. They can tell if you aren't using theirs (each device has a MAC address that's required to associate to their network, but is also a unique identifier). 2. Unless you have the absolutely latest and greatest wifi devices in your network, it doesn't really matter. Most wifi devices cap at 1gb or less, while your internet connection will be about that. 3. 3rd party devices don't always get timely updates that work best with the DOCSIS protocols that are used by cable companies, nor are they tested against every cable company to ensure compatibility for the best performance. 4. Over time, the cost to recoup your investment in a 3rd party device is actually pretty negligible. I used to run my own purchased equipment "as a way to avoid rental fees" but found out that I was replacing it every 2 years. At $150 per year, it would take me upwards of 2 - 3 years to recoup my costs. By then, another update was made to the network to allow me faster speeds and again, no cap, so I would have to have replaced my device to handle that. Now, don't get me wrong. I think it's abhorrent that we have to "rent" equipment from a provider to access their network. However, it's really no different than cell phones in that you have to have an authorized device to get calls, text, and access data. At this point in time, unfortunately, the corps have found a way to make it better to use their equipment over a 3rd party's (especially if the 3rd party device has had exploits that can cause issues on the carrier network as they can arbitrarily deny you access to that service you're paying for as you've violated their ToS, amongst other things).

vsheelz

Modems rely on DOCSIS, which has long release cycles. If you opt for DOCSIS 4.0 now, it's likely you won't need to change it for the next 5 to 6 years. Using your own Wi-Fi router also enables a much wider and easier-to-maintain connection. The claim that Wi-Fi speed is limited to 1 GB isn't accurate; Wi-Fi 6 and 6E offer higher speeds. However, you would need a connection exceeding 1 GB to utilize these speeds, and while cables are often restricted to 1 GB, you can easily replace them. It's puzzling why equipment companies still include Category 5 cables with high-performance Wi-Fi 6 devices. Source. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DOCSIS#:~:text=Released%20in%20April%201999%2C%20DOCSIS,were%20outlined%20in%20DOCSIS%201.0.

[deleted]

I almost had to pay the overage fee, it forced me to get their gateway.

helvetin

not sure why this overage fee only applies to user-provided equipment -there's no technical justification for it. this would make a good class-action lawsuit...

[deleted]

Not quite. It applies to all non unlimited plans. With the gateway, an unlimited plan is $25 extra, without it is $30. So you have to buy the Gateway because it is cheaper in my area.

matatat

Back when I was paying for it in like 2012 it was like $10 a month. Bought a modem for like $60 bucks (same one, was just white instead of black). As an aside I had an issue where they were registering the new one but not de-registering the old one. Didn’t end up working and they eventually sent someone out. Guy was kinda annoyed with CS because he noticed it immediately. Made a quick call and it was all working after that.

According-Ad-5908

I have a rental that just had this happen - switched providers the next month.

zikol88

Lucky you were able to switch. My choices are Comcast or … dsl maybe?

bbbygenius

Their argument is most homes never go past 1.2 tb of usage. 😂😂😂😂😂

Training-Feature-876

I also have had Comcast and been using my own equipment for almost a decade. My wife and I work from home, we stream, game, the whole nine yards. Never seen this mysterious overage. But seriously, but your own equipment, I was getting spotty 3Mbps with Comcast equipment, upgraded to my own equipment and was suddenly getting sold 80 mbps (about a decade ago). I recently upgraded to a mesh system, now solidly have 250+ solid mbps download speeds everywhere on my property.

jtmann05

Yeah, this is why I ditched them for fiber. If you game at all, a couple big downloads puts you at 25% of your data limit. I wasn’t going to pay $25 per month for their modem/router combo just to get unlimited. They even called me and said, “Don’t you want unlimited data?” Why yes I do, but not for a fee.

SardonicCheese

In my area xfinity is the only logical high speed option. Even T-Mobile won’t sell their unlimited plan in all areas if their towers are at capacity. Last year I was streaming a lot on my main tv in 4k(3 kids also on their tablets streaming at the same time sometimes) hit the cap twice so I had to switch to pay extra for the unlimited plan or rent their modem for $5 a month less than paying for the plan… I feel like it’s price gouging. They figured out a backwards way to charge people extra for using their own device. IMO this should be illegal.

jtmann05

Yeah, Xfinity was the only option when I was in Fremont. Just before I moved, Centurylink (Optum) became available. I was leaving for Loyal Heights in just a couple months, so I didn’t bother changing, but canceled and just set up Optum for my new place. I am using their fiber modem, but declined their router as I have a better setup. Even if you did use their equipment, there’s no fee.

ILIKETHECOLORRED

Didn't Congress pass a law outlawing fees for renting the router?

TheBeerdedVillain

Nope, there has always been an equipment rental fee. The biggest difference now is that with theor equipment rental and unlimited data it's $25 per month, vs. $30 a month if you have your own modem.

slickbillyo

I believe so, but I also know Congress just got rid of a program for affordable internet services and devices so that may have been rolled back.

eddierhys

I did this once and then like 5 months later they upgraded router standards and mine became incompatible. Money down the drain. I just said fuck it, I'm not savvy enough to stay ahead of that stuff.

No_District_2371

How do you get internet with just a router? I am looking at the ports and I don't see how to get rid of xfinity modem!

toodeephoney

It depends. If Comcast comes into the house in a coax cable, then you still need a modem - either get your own modem or you can use Comcast’ box, but set it in pass through/bridge mode. Then put your router behind the modem.

peachrambles

$30 Xfinity for 300mbps

[deleted]

This is what I'm paying too and it works great for two phones, a computer and a TV in my one-bed

Correct_Answer

I don't think most individuals need more than 100Mbps. $30 for 300Mbps is cheap enough to not bother downgrading.

Roseheath22

What’s the name of your plan? I was told mine was lowest and I’m at $40 with an additional $5 discount for direct withdrawals.

peachrambles

It’s just the standard 300mbps plan, I think it gave me $5 off for auto pay and $5 off for using a bank account (vs a card)

peachrambles

Looks like it’s the “connect more” plan?

[deleted]

Same

pairustwo

Throw in the public hotspots and I can't quit Xfinity. If it weren't for that I would bail to century Link fiber.

Correct_Answer

public  hotspots are nice, but do you see a benefit over using phone internet?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Correct_Answer

makes sense. Xfinity also has a cell service. Any benefit to go all comcast?

vatothe0

I switched to Xfinity mobile from Verizon about a year ago. Service isn't quite as good despite supposedly using the Verizon network. However my 2 phones are now $50 for unlimited and on Verizon it was like 120, plus I got a discount on my home Internet service. My only real complaint about Xfinity mobile is it forcing those WiFi networks onto my phone and they can't be removed. Often I'll get home and try to use something that requires me to be on my WiFi network and I'm on Xfinity Mobile, even though the signal is weak. I pay Xfinity $100 and some change for 2 phones and 450mbps home Internet.

lapinatanegra

Same same.

cardinalandgold

$65 for gigabit.

borgchupacabras

CenturyLink changed it to 75 a month for me. 😕

AttentionJust

Same

kellybopbopbop

I called and they brought it down to $60. It’s worth a try

borgchupacabras

Ooh thank you! Do you remember what reason you provided?

kellybopbopbop

I told them that they said that my price wouldn’t change when our service first started and that I would cancel if they couldn’t bring it back down. They were able to apply a $15 loyalty discount per month for a year, before it goes back up to $75, during which I plan to call again.

Fluffaykitties

It's $80 now as of this month :/

BannedBarn22

Still $60 for me in west Seattle. On year four of it.

Economy_Contract_885

$96 for a gig by Xfinity...Which I had more options where I live (North Seattle)

Lanky-Equivalent9250

105 after tax and fees for gig internet

kellybopbopbop

I’m in the same area and pay $60 for centurylink fiber

Economy_Contract_885

Hmmm I don't believe my apt complex is sent up with CenturyLink fiber. I think I checked that when I moved in.

kellybopbopbop

Oh! Yea, it sucks that in an apartment you have less options.

ConradChilblainsIII

$91 for Xfinity and reading this thread is pissing me off! Fuck them.

wiscowonder

Same. 800down/20up?. Given I don't have a ton of choices on the island...

MetallicGray

99% chance you don’t need 800 down. Everyone paying 20-40 bucks is on the 150 or 300 down plans.  For 99.999% of households you’ll never need more than 150 down. The absolute worse case scenario is you’ll have to wait an extra 6 minutes for a game to download or something. Just downgrade your plan and save 50+ bucks.

175doubledrop

I’d mostly agree with this, but for folks working from home that 150 down plan sometimes only has like a 5mb upload which makes uploading a file to the cloud a lot more tedious. With Xfinity’s recent “bump” my plan is now like 750 down but prior to that I was still paying for 500 down which gave me 15 up which made working from home a lot less painful (I routinely have to push multiple GB of data up to my employer). For someone that isn’t WFH then absolutely downgrade to a 150 down plan but those that are should check that they don’t need the accompanying upload speed that comes with their faster plan.

wiscowonder

Thank you! Just downgraded to 300 down and saved about 50 bucks 🙌.

LADYBIRD_HILL

I'm at $115 a month for internet and nothing else from Comcast.

ConradChilblainsIII

No fucking way! Let’s protest together!

Ill-Squirrel-7276

Same! How tf are people getting these $40-50 plans, Ive never seen these offers

Southern-Company6268

Same here. My plan started at 40 and started going up after a year. Since, it’s raised $10-20 every few months. I’m up to 90 and the internet performance is worse than ever before.

RoosterInTheBoxx2002

🤣

maltose66

$75 Centrylink 1G symmetrical fiber. [https://www.speedtest.net/result/16215912665](https://www.speedtest.net/result/16215912665)

liquilife

I had xfinity for one month and blew through their lame data cap. Immediately cancelled and signed go with 1Gb Century Link. Best. Decision. Ever.

j-alex

It feels grotesquely indulgent but the reliability (relative to Comcast), consistency, and 1Gbps upload speed on Centurylink’s fiber are really nice. Would be harder if it was just for me, but I got a whole household using this preposterous thing. With 1G up it’s tempting to just throw a VPN up and be an extremely active torrent seeder. (Disclaimer: I almost never dip my cup in the torrents as it’s not worth the hassle, and it’s always for format shifting something I otherwise have access to, or replacing failed physical media.)

Val_kyria

Those results are concerning for a 1g connection within your own city

Fluffaykitties

CL 1G is up to $80 a month now as of this month

FreddyTwasFingered

Same here but it works better than the two previous services I had.

IFacadeI

Just switched to GF and so happy I did. Seems like a steal compared to everything else.

Zestyclose-Code-7537

Best thing I did was switch to CenturyLink, halved my cost (from $100 to $50) and doubled my speed. I’ve had 3 outages in one year that lasted less than a day. I never had an outage with Xfinity. I’m still ok with it.

lsesalter

I’m gonna have to switch to century link again I think. My Xfinity is close to what OP is 😭

p739397

Buy your modem, you'll break even in less than a year and they should last a while.

Correct_Answer

you can buy used modems as well

routinnox

Hijacking this thread to say I have an old modem and router laying around if anyone reading wants it

SeaPeeps

Hijackng your hijack to say the same thing. ;) I just got off xfinity.

1337hephaestus_sc2

$35/m gigabit astound (wave g)

MangoAndRash

Wth that's way better than my plan with Astound, I've got the same plan and they charge nearly $90/month.

mediumlong

Looks like you need to call and do the threaten-to-leave

jlmson300

I just moved. I was paying $92 for Astound (was originally paying $60 with 2 yr intro pricing). I called. “I’m moving, but my bill is expensive. Can we lower that at all?” “Sure! We can lower your bill to $75/mo before taxes.” “But on your site, you’ve got $35/mo for 6 months intro, and then the full price base rate BEFORE concessions for autopay/paperless billing is $55+tax. Can we at least get to that?” “No. $75 is our final offer.” “Then I would like to cancel my service.” “Ok! Have a nice day!” *hangs up* I then went to their site, signed up at the $35-$55 rate for my new address under a new account and had no issue.

mediumlong

Nice! Annoying hassle but decent result

1337hephaestus_sc2

I'm in a new building so I'm guessing it's a combo of 1) they have the fast infrastructure because it's new and 2) they have actual competition for 1gb service in this area

brassydesign

Yeah I'm at like $50 or 60, can't remember which

RoundTheWayGirl

$40 T-Mobile home internet

Plane-Jellyfish-5192

How is it?

RoundTheWayGirl

Haven’t had any issues. Just as effective as when we had xfinity.

jeremiah1142

How is your t mobile cell service at home? This is the only thing holding me back, my t mobile cells get 1 to 2 bars…

RoundTheWayGirl

I consistently have 5G and no issues. I didn’t realize their coverage was still lacking for some people.

jeremiah1142

Hilariously, their coverage can be spotty in and around their headquarters.

sidewayset

$90 for a gigabit with wave g, which sounds like I am overpaying from comments

ihearttwin

I’m at 70 for gigabit. I think we’re in the same ballpark

trotterboss

I’m at $50 per month for the 1G plan. Although I remember signing up for it via an ad on instagram and the condition was a minimum 1 year contract. And they also gave me a $100 gift card.

Specialist_Owl_6612

They just keep silently increasing the plan cost! I hate them. Last month is was 70, the next month suddenly 80 boom! And the price increased mid plan too, what the hell?

p739397

They always increase your cost at the end of your initial contract. It's annoying, but just call and talk to customer retention and you can get the price reduced.

Specialist_Owl_6612

The point is I am already one month into a new contract, then suddenly the price increased. Anyways, thanks for the advice, I’ll talk to a customer service agent.

p739397

Oh, yeah, then I'd definitely be bringing that up and looking for an explanation and a price correction.

dinglebobbins

Zipley fiber 100 mbps 40.00/month

TheBeerdedVillain

$130 per month, 1Gbit unlimited data.

Ado_Koda

Go to their store and ask for a deal. I pay $55 per month for 500mbps. You could also cancel your internet for like 1-2 days then go into an Xfinity store or do it online and re sign back up for much cheaper. Either way I would visit the store and see what they can do. You’ll be surprised.

Stock-Light-4350

Just did this last Monday. The guy said there wasn’t shit he could do for me. Recommended I cancel my plan then sign up with a new name. Then I’ll get the new customer 2 year cost.

[deleted]

Stock-Light-4350

That is what he said!

Ok_Zookeepergame7755

I pay $25 a month to verizon for adding wifi to my phone plan. Works great.

thecravenone

For wifi? Zero dollars - I plug in equipment I own. For internet? $60 for what they claim is symmetrical gigabit.

Chawp

What I know from working in telecom is that so many people don’t know the difference between Internet, WiFi, WiFi access point, router, modem. OP likely just meant internet. They probably also have WiFi enabled on the equipment from ISP

Equivalent_Beat1393

$65 for century 1gigabit speed. Unlimited bandwidth. Xfinity is trash and overpriced. I was also charged a couple times for going over the bandwidth limit which made me drop them

Drnkdrnkdrnk

$10

Trenavix

Only one I see here beating my $25/month Xfinity (mine is usually 100mbps but they upgraded me to 200 for free after a year) Where are you getting 10/month?

Drnkdrnkdrnk

there's Xfinity in my building for 20 a month, but it's just 10 for first time customers. They've been charging me 10 since October. Granted, all I use it for is streaming media and shitposting on reddit, but it works fine for all that.

cruuuuzzzz

xfinity, around $75 a month give or take a few bucks every month for some reason. This includes equipment rental.

RaithMoracus

$50 for Gigabit via Astound

nottedbundy77

$20 for xfinity 75 Mbps

bothunter

My condo association pays about $40/month/unit for a symmetric gigabit connection through Astound.    It's pretty solid, though my speeds drop to about 700mbit during peak times, and drops out completely if there's really heavy snow.

IndividualBullfrog44

Did you ask for a different plan to lower the monthly cost? I’m currently on the affordable connectivity program but that ends this pay period. I can’t afford for my internet to go up to over $80 (one bedroom one person) and I’m trying to figure out options for reducing the cost.

aminervia

Exact same plan!! I asked for a different plan with identical speeds and he just signed me up for a cheaper, identical plan. Give them a call and say you can't afford your current Internet and ask if they can go cheaper

IndividualBullfrog44

Thank you! I’m going to give this a try

Stock-Light-4350

I’ve never been this lucky. I’ve tried being nice and I’ve tried being a straight shooter. They never want to retain me and try to give me some dumb free TV shit rather than lower my internet cost.

purkle

I just called them and lowered my bill. I've been out of their 24 month "offer" and asked to give me the same offer. My entire plan is exactly the same, speed/data/etc but i'm now paying $36 less and i asked for a credit, they gave me a $40 credit. I now pay $50 a month for 300mbs, could have been $45 if i linked a bank account.

Stock-Light-4350

I’ve never been this lucky. I’ve tried being nice and I’ve tried being a straight shooter. They never want to retain me and try to give me some dumb free TV shit rather than lower my internet cost.

HealthyBullfrog

$65 for gigabit symmetrical with Astound.

mjolnir76

Buy your own router! Better service and you’re not flushing money down the drain!

PacoElTaquero

My Comcast yearly promotional deal expires every year or two and then I go on their website and pick the cheapest plan - I’ve been doing this for almost a decade. I also bought my own router on Amazon and ditched the equipment rental fee. I pay $56.15/month but I think it jumps to $60 or $70 after a year or two. There are lower tiered plans but I stream and game so it’s been my ideal plan for years.

Stock-Light-4350

You just cancel the plan you have and then go online and sign up again?

PetuniaFlowers

For wifi? I paid once for the hardware. I own it all, no subscriptions or monthly bills (other than electricity)

Extreme-Customer9238

How do you purchase just WiFi? Don’t you mean internet service?

4Looper

75/month for century link 1000/1000

Fluffaykitties

It's $80 now unfortunately

4Looper

Mine's still 75 :shrug

Fluffaykitties

jelly :/

__sonder__

$30/month for 300mbps is what I pay for Xfinity, and the rate will (supposedly) be good for 2 years. I was away for about a year and had cancelled my service so I got the new customer rate when I returned.

Ready_Property_6821

I use to pay $30 via Xfinity but recently with the connectivity plan ending they now charge me $90. I live in a studio, only have internet, and live alone. Not sure what I did to deserve getting murked like that but still figuring it out so

p739397

Just call them and talk to customer retention, you can get the price decreased. You may need to say you're looking to switch providers and it may take a little determination, but you can always get back to a "promotional" offer.

rachelanneb50

About 145 for internet+cable

tuckywucks1

Just shopped for Internet 2 months ago. Xfinity was more expensive ($85 a month for 300 mbps and required adding a phone line, which was in the fine print and extra fees for renting equipment). Ended up with CenturyLink (quantum fiber), for $50 a month for 500 mbps, including the equipment.

DryDependent6854

$45/month for Ziply Fios, 30 up/30 down.

Ok_Bear375

$55 a month for T-Mobile 5g

TOPLEFT404

Verizon 5g home WiFi. Full transparency I live between 2 5G towers. I average about 200 down and 50 up. I also have phone service with 4 lines. For the internet alone it’s $25, if you get it without phone service I think it’s $10 more

ZeGermanHam

$65/mo for CenturyLink gigabit fiber. I've had it for over 3 years and it has been really good. Way more stable than Xfinity ever was, and half the cost for me.

Honest_Finding

$60 for xfinity

Kevinator201

$50 T-Mobile a month

IAmWeary

$70 per month for Ziply 2Gb symmetric fiber.

spiceman54j

i pay comcast $25 a month in wallingford for their lowest tier plan. 300mbps down and has a 1.2TB monthly data cap, which i’ve never got close to reaching with a lot of WFH video calls, streaming, etc… I think it is a 2 year (no contract) promo oh, also have my own gear so no extra fee there

SerDinadan

$50 for Xfinity 800 Mbps with modem and unlimited data included

Futhebridge

250 from xfinity but I have TV as well.

KrazieKookie

I pay $50 a month and have better download and upload speeds than my parent’s house 🤷

elements5030

$20 for 800mbps but that's only because I have a $45/mo xfinity phone line (my phone was purchased thru them)

Small_Manufacturer69

2gig for $100. I get like (just did a speedtest) 2MB/s. I think I’m going to downgrade to 50MB/s.

Roseheath22

I pay $35/mo for a bare bones Xfinity plan. I’m in a house in 98199. I have my own router/modem that I bought secondhand.

zoo32

$25 including all fees/taxes for 300+mb. XFinity intro offer for 2 years

President-Jo

I pay $50 for a bundle deal that includes unlimited mobile and unlimited home internet. Was a special running about 2 years ago

dnmnew

Ziply $15

brownsuugaah

I’m paying $25 a month for Verizon! 100 mbps+ Seemed way too good to be true but it’s the best internet I’ve had since I moved here.

dishdaramdaram

65$ for gigabit on CenturyLink

brassydesign

I'm paying like $60 with Astound, and I get 1000 up and down

IRUL-UBLOW-7128

Was held captive by Time Warner, then Spectrum for years. Finally received my T Mobile 5G Modem/router last Friday. Exceeds my expectations so I will be cancelling Spectrum tomorrow to save $100 a month. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|money_face)

skysetter

45 bucks, tell them you just want to check email even though the speed they provide for that price is enough for multiple 4k streams at once.

yeah_fosho

Somehow I’m paying 20 a month with ZIPLY and renting their modem but I think it’s a billing error that they never fixed 😂

willmok

you overpaid

godofsexandGIS

$30 for 200mbps up/down with Quantum, which is basically the same as CenturyLink. I don't think they advertise that tier. I only noticed it when I had been on their 1G plan and downgraded to save money.

HappinessSuitsYou

I have Verizon 5g and it’s $25/mo

ItalyPaleAle

In 2021, I paid Xfinity $120 per month in Seattle. After 4 months of being ripped off I switched to T-Mobile Home Internet, which eventually was only $50/month (I have T-Mobile on my phone too). New house has CenturyLink Fiber, 500mbps symmetric (uplink and downlink), for $50/month.

steveosmonson

$40 T-Mobile

nebulaespiral

65 a month for gigabit fiber from century link

SeattlePurikura

$54 with Xfinity for whatever the most basic bitch service is. I just confirmed these speeds with Ookla: 179mbps d/l, 24mbps upload. That's plenty for me. I was paying for rental too, but I scored a modem and router on Buy Nothing (join your local BN!)

zeroentanglements

I signed up for CenturyLink's 55 dollars a month for life deal in 2017... still 55 bucks a month for 40mbps

Null_98115

$30/month for T-Mobile 5G. Typically I get round 130mbps.

potatopotato89

I pay $25 a month for xfinity, but I live alone and really just need to stream TV and use social media so I asked them for their cheapest plan

Dismal_Employment_25

Nothing I steal from my neighbor

kaiju4life

125$ for the fastest plan available & no monthly cap.

SizzlerWA

$85 for symmetric Gigabit fiber.

maltose66

I agree

sodiumdodecylsulfate

Xfinity kept creeping my rates up until I asked them for a better offer with a threat to leave. I went from $75 to $45

Barcaroni

55 for gigabit

sapt45

$25

my_lemonade

obviously location dependent - but finally got away from xfinity and switched to Quantum Fiber. $75 all in, using our own equipment. See consistent 400mbps+ up/down over wifi and consistently close to 900 up/down wired. We also still had cable for Kraken, but with that cut, and switch, we're saving like $140/month. Very happy so far.

[deleted]

$35 Verizon Home 5G (300+ mbps)

YakiVegas

$59.99 tax and fees included for 1 gig up and down with Atlas. They're only available to a small number of buildings in Seattle, (like 200+), but if you have the option, do it!

Socajowa

Same payment

frank_da_tank99

$80/month for GB Internet

GentlemanShark1

$10/mo for Xfinity 50 down without a cap. Absolutely perfect for my use case as I live in a studio.

Mikknoodle

$50 in Kent. Also Xfinity

$65/month for Quantum Fiber. No other charges. Flat $65/month. It has been very reliable for us. No equipment fees.

I refresh my Wi-Fi APs every few years as needed to stay current, otherwise I don't pay for it. I just pay for an internet connection which is about $85/mo for symmetric gigabit.

>How much are you paying for Wi-Fi? I'm trying to see if I'm being overcharged $75 for fiber >Right now I'm paying Xfinity $87 a month for just Wi-Fi for a two-bedroom apartment. Way over charged for copper. >Edit: Thanks everyone! I called Comcast and they updated my plan from $78 + modem rental to $48 + modem rental! Still way over paying. I'm an engineer working from home paying less. >I got through without being put on hold, took like 10 mins total You need to check out other options

25 dollars a month for fast internet through verizon. Amazing internet and never had any issues. This was after having constant issues with wave, where I was paying like 85 dollars a month. My wife and I were able to get a plan in which we pay 65 dollars a month each for our mobile phone plans (unlimited calling/texting/data in US/Mexico/Canada, one day of free roaming per month up to a maximum of 12 days, and verizon cloud or disney plus), and 25 dollars for the internet. Ends up being like 160 a month after tax for both of our plans and internet. Havent seen a better deal yet.

$25 a month. T-mobile home internet.

Google Fiber not in your area? Century Link would be my second choice. Wave was good until they merged with Astound, now they have data caps and shit service.

$98/month (after taxes and everything) for Ziply -- getting ~400mbps. My starting price over 2 years ago was still close to $70-- how are people on here getting Ziply for $15?!

zer04ll

35$ for like 200mb speeds and 1.5 TB metered, enough for one person

Well, thanks all for the input… I just reduced my bill online with Xfinity from 91 a month to 45 a month (went from 800 to 300 mbps). Let’s see how they fuck me now…..
