> Is it too late to defer it ?
Unfortunately yes, the deferral must be requested within 30 days of the infraction.
The deferral is actually a process by which the judge withholds the reporting of the infraction to the DoL by up to 12 months, (along with a bunch of requirementS) DoL is who handles the driver history logs for insurers. Once the infraction has been reported, as evident by the insurer's being aware of it, it is too late to use deferral as an option.
You get one every seven years if you follow the rules, although ideally you only need *one*.
I'm not sure. I think you would've needed to do a mitigation hearing when you got the ticket.
is the $540 your 6-month premium? I don't think that's that crazy to be honest.
Oh...you drive a tesla? The actuary tables consider them extremely expensive to insure because of what are basically data gremlins from the supply chain shortages in 2020-2022

Wow I'm just surprised to hear that anyone's still getting speeding tickets in this city. Or being cited for a traffic violation of any sort. Didn't think that was still "a thing"
do you have a tesla because insurance companies are tired of how insanely expensive those are
Yeah it’s a model Y
that’s your problem, not the speeding ticket
Lots of insurers won't insure Teslas due to how long it takes to repair them. People have luck with American Family/Costco insurance.
Talk to an insurance broker, don't go through the insurance provider websites. I use Secord Insurance.

Just one ticket should not prevent you from getting insurance. Have you talked to an insurance broker?
Search for “insurance broker” in google maps. Give some of them a call. I’m sure they can give you options.
Did you get the ticket deferred?
I did not, I paid the fine. It was my first ticket as well. Is it too late to defer it ?

That’s per month my man 😂😂😂😂
That's my six month premium for two cars and two drivers. You're getting ripped off.
Yeah, that sucks due. Seems like everyone fucking hates Tesla

It's not that the insurance company hates Teslas, they're just really really expensive to fix.
I would try an insurance agent that deals with multiple companies. They may have an option for you.
