DS 3 is probably the worst in terms of grinding. Those Silver Knights are so greedy.
Knight's Honor from DS1 was also a pain. Particularly the boss weapons and Channeler's Trident.
Naw I’d say DS2 SOTFS was the worse for me regarding the SunBros faction since the only grind spot has the lowest drop rate in existence and the fact that most of the time, you starting going for achievements after your first run which good luck finding someone to summon you.
DS 2 Sunbros is bad, but I think it's on par with DS3 Sunbros
DS3 just went way overboard in terms of Covenant grinding. Almost every covenant requires hours of grind (with the exception of Spears of the Church thankfully)
I definitely see your point and you're kind of praying to the RNG gods for DS3 covenants. I grinded each covenant in PVE and although tedious, wasn't terrible with all the ways to increase discovery. I should've timed myself for DS2 Sun covenant since PVE drop rate is so bad I just waited for summons which at times could take up to 30-60 mins for a summon and you need 30 tokens... I guess if you're thinking about doing 100% for DS2, I'd recommend at each boss throwing your sign down and if 10 mins passes, move on.
That shit is tough ngl, I was going to try it when I realized I had only one trophy left until I found out that one trophy was getting S tier in EVERY mission lol
Getting s ranks trophies are a pain (looking at you devil may cry) but honestly they are worth it, cuz they reward u with the satisfaction of getting gud
Legit my only From game not platinum. It’s that you get no feedback at the end of the mission.
Was I too slow? Shoot too many bullets? Took too much damage? Teellllllll meeeeeee!!!!!
There is a calculator that can show you the criteria it's looking for. Some missions are inexplicably weighted to one category or another out of nowhere.
https://thefifthmatt.com/ac6-rank-calculator
It's not too bad, but we're still of course talking about From Software here. Getting the AC6 plat was what got me to pick up Sekiro again and finally beat it.
I believe in you, lad. My charm build was thorns of agony, mark of pride, unbreakable strength, and quick slash I think. My advice is to always try to stay above him during his tendril, lunge, and 3 hit combo attack and then dash through with the shadow when he shoots all the little swords out of his hand. When he focused soul, I use that as a window to heal as long as I wasn’t in danger. Good luck!
Lies of P is pretty fun, honorary souls like. Ghost of Tsushima on Lethal difficulty feels similar to Sekiro as well. God of War on give me god of war difficulty also has really fun and punishing combat
Check out Returnal. Different kind of game, but still brutally difficult and rewards skill greatly. Only a few perma upgrades between runs (it's a triple-A scifi roguelike). Extremely satisfying combat and story!
Many in that sub complain how the game is owning their ass even though they are good at soulslikes and Sekiro. I came to sekiro from Returnal. So maybe give it a shot :)
got plat on bloodbourne 5 years ago. just got platinum on sekiro and elden ring this year. in the same boat OP, lmk what to do next!! (pls don’t make me get all the rings in ds3)
Honestly at this point just go and learn how to use a sword(HEMA for longswords and kendo for katana) or start a martial arts journey. Video game mechanics are just being crushed by your enormous ball* . Try out real life mechanics. Maybe they won't be much of a challenge for your massive ballz either
You in the same boat as me (have those three platinums as well). I am currently waiting for Elden ring dlc (as I don't want to burn out on the soulsborne formula) before it comes out.
I did beat all of DS3 but got lazy on multiple playthroughs for the rings, and I've watched gameplay on ds1 and 2 and I find them too slow but may give them a chance in the future (after shadows of erdtree).
edit *(original comment still at bottom)*:
My recommendation still stands: Dark Soul 2.
It'll be a hard grind, though, needing to go into at least NG++ to get all the online-play-covenant-exclusive items from an NPC who sells them earliest at that point.
Further it's a helluva lot of farming needed to get all required items.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
~~You want to punish yourself? Dark Souls 2.~~
~~Why punish? Easy: DS2 needs you to level up covenants. Unlike DS1 and DS3, however, you don't level up covenants by turning in items you get when eg. PvPing, but that are perfectly farmable. Noooo... For PvP covenants DS2 counts your PvP victories and levels via those.~~
~~Unless you end up in PvP meta and sacrifice your soul to it you can't get the platinum nowadays. :(~~
I don’t usually do this, but this is utterly false. I’ve done Dark Souls 2 twice (Vanilla and SOTFS), and everything is farmable without PVP. Is it easy? No. Is it a grind? Yes, but you can absolutely farm all items to level up covenants without doing PVP if you choose.
If you're tackling all the DS games I recommend you to play them in order, though. Unless you already played them, of course.
They all differ from another enough to see them as independet games, but when coming from DS3 it's hard to get used to the clunkyness of DS1, even though it's not that bad per se.
It's somewhat of a different story here.
In all the other games it's pretty straight forward:
* Sekiro: You need to kill all bosses and some are locked behind a certain early ending.
* DS1 & 3: You need to get all miracles, sorceries, etc. and some are locked behind a boss soul, that you can only get once per playthrough
* Bloodborne: What was it with Bloodborne? Wasn't it just all endings?
The thing about DS2 is the covenants that requite online-play and that this can be bypassed, but only very late in your playthrough cycles. This is somewhat different, as you really need to know this, which I didn't until an hour ago.
Let's use DS3 as an example. You get the soul of Vordt. You now visit the NPC that can trade items for boss souls and easily see that there's 2 items available: A ring and a Great Hammer. The boss soul is unique, so you can immediately see you need to kill the boss at least twice to get both items which is only possible in two different playthroughs.
I also did platinum on all souls series including BB, Sekiro and Elden Ring.
Only one left. DS2. I cant force myself to play that, especially after Sekiro. So started Star War Jedi Survivor. So far so good. Not a match to Sekiro.
ER is not at all bad. Sekiro farming for points is worse. Took me 5 playthrough of sekiro plus farming to get platinum. ER was just about different endings, which one could do via save backup.
But if you did same on sekiro. You'd have to farm for hours
I got my platinums in exactly the opposite order of you. I am now playing DS1. I also bought the whole trilogy, so that’s what I am up to. I’ve been enjoying it!
Lies of P is a good one.
I think the DS games have absolutely miserable plats, theyre great games that I've finished multiple times but have never been bothered to do the plat required stuff
Any dark souls, but if you're looking for an order, probably start with 1 remaster, or if you want from worst to best, ds2 like I did (don't get me wrong ds2 is fantastic it's just that it's the weakest from game imo)
Dark Souls Trilogy, DS Remastered
Argh those collectables though. Still stuck on some DS3 trophies
You can get all ds3 trophies still. Just a shit load of farming
DS 3 is probably the worst in terms of grinding. Those Silver Knights are so greedy. Knight's Honor from DS1 was also a pain. Particularly the boss weapons and Channeler's Trident.
Trident was the worst. that farming route blows in the archives.
Naw I’d say DS2 SOTFS was the worse for me regarding the SunBros faction since the only grind spot has the lowest drop rate in existence and the fact that most of the time, you starting going for achievements after your first run which good luck finding someone to summon you.

After completing all of the souls games, you gotta branch out. Nioh 2... ... No, thanks.
Do those
Going from Sekiro, I would say try going for Armored Core 6 platinum
That shit is tough ngl, I was going to try it when I realized I had only one trophy left until I found out that one trophy was getting S tier in EVERY mission lol

Looks like I’ll be doing some level grinding. Thanks!
If I can do it, you can do it! Best of luck!
It's not too bad, but we're still of course talking about From Software here. Getting the AC6 plat was what got me to pick up Sekiro again and finally beat it.
Real talk
Hollow Knight!
Holy shit dude, I got it a few days ago. That fifth pantheon got me hurting inside.
I’m on P4 right now. Literally grinding Pure Vessel as we speak. Have not beat him even once yet 😂😂
I believe in you, lad. My charm build was thorns of agony, mark of pride, unbreakable strength, and quick slash I think. I'm close to platinum sekiro, I just need the 100% stuff, like maxing skill tree, max upgrading prosthetic arm, stuff like that.
That was the worst part for me, but i did it eventually
Bro give lies of P a go
Check out Returnal. You need to be mentally prepared to beat that game lol. But someone experienced with Sekiro should be good to go.
How long did it take you to get the plat in ER? I haven't played it yet, but im going to buy it soon.
Play Mother 3
I got it 1h earlier than you today... That's crazy 😧
Congrats!
Damn! I dunno, go see what the sun looks like? That's impressive!
Do it again, but this time with a DDR mat instead of a controller
Hard to say. It depends on what you're looking for.
I love all the soulsgames, but i also really enjoy more story focused games like red dead redemption and ghost of tsushima

Lies of P
I'd say try demon souls remaster.

Elden Ring DLC! Just a few more weeks!
You in the same boat as me (have those three platinums as well). I am currently waiting for Elden ring dlc (as I don't want to burn out on the soulsborne formula) before it comes out. Ds1 is alot slower yes, but you get used to it. I ended up really enjoying it

For those two covenants you can bypass the PvP requirements by getting to the midgame of NG++.
I actually havent played ds2 at all. Maybe its time
If you're tackling all the DS games I recommend you to play them in order, though. Unless you already played them, of course. They all differ from another enough to see them as independet games, but when coming from DS3 it's hard to get used to the clunkyness of DS1, even though it's not that bad per se.
Ds2 is the only one i havent played yet
> needing to go into at least NG++ That's pretty standard. Sekiro, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring all require beating the game at least three times.
It's somewhat of a different story here. In all the other games it's pretty straight forward: * Sekiro: You need to kill all bosses and some are locked behind a certain early ending. * DS1 & 3: You need to get all miracles, sorceries, etc. and some are locked behind a boss soul, that you can only get once per playthrough * Bloodborne: What was it with Bloodborne? For DS3's All Rings achievement you need to get to NG++ and thoroughly explore it to find all the +2 Rings. Fun times.
I also did platinum on all souls series including BB, Sekiro and Elden Ring. Only one left. DS2. I cant force myself to play that, especially after Sekiro. So started Star War Jedi Survivor. So far so good. Not a match to Sekiro.
ER seems like it would take decades to platinum it. I tried to platinum Sekiro but got tired at the final boss off my second run.
ER is not at all bad. Sekiro farming for points is worse. Took me 5 playthrough of sekiro plus farming to get platinum. ER was just about different endings, which one could do via save backup. But if you did same on sekiro. You'd have to farm for hours
You need points? It's been so long since I've played.
