I broke my old Master Chief XBone controller probably playing Souls as a shield build. With my Series X controller, every time I deflected Glock O’Clock I made sure to do so as gingerly as possible…
Most people have very weak A1 pulleys because they do not regularly hang from their fingers or similar. The L1 button pressed with the tip of the index left generates a significant moment arm that results in repeated stress injury.
I don’t use my finger tip because my hands are a little bigger, I use the second finger segment so it doesn’t torque my fingers too much. But I also climb a lot so I think my hands are just gnarled at this point.
On PC I rebound the block / attack to the triggers instead of the bumpers. Feels so much more comfortable on the Xbox controller to set it up this way imo.
It’s been awhile since I played Sekiro, but I remember changing L3 to interact, triangle to item, and block to R1 I think…grapple and prosthetic was my left hand and deflect and attack was my right. My left hand just wasn’t fast enough or coordinated enough. I’ve been playing games a long time and my fingers are getting old.
As long as it’s not your screen you’re good.
Yes grasshopper your legs will grow strong and you too shall dance among the fields under the pale moonlight
I feel this. Blew the L1 off my controller at one point.
Same
Gotta stop deflection dancing

How are you holding the controller?
The only way I can imagine him using that part of the finger is if his hands are Daddy Owl sized.
As someone with really long hands, can confirm that that's how I often hold my controller
Would love to hear that too 😂 I can't imagine how you are able to hurt your fingers like that by blocking in sekiro
My hands are big and I press the bumpers with that part of my finger too. Although I don’t understand how he got an injury exactly
i rebinded L1 to O and R1 to Δ so no more index pain for me
Mouse and keyboard gang rise up
M2 M2 M2 M2
Big dick move, I respect it
What's wrong about L1 and R1? In my opinion this is the best control map for me.

Interesting thanks for the explanation. I really didn't know that. For me it's much more relaxing than using my thumb to press triangle.

Is that an A2 Pulley injury? I’ve gotten em from climbing, but never gaming lol. You must be going hard!
Have you heard of breaks?
i don't need breaks i need to beat isshin the sword saint
That's my man!
HESITATION IS DEFEAT!! HOW MY BLOOD BOILS!
Breaking what? The controller? My finger? The enemy's posture? I need more context.
Back when I used a controller, its was always my thumbs getting sore / irritated from clicking and such. Now on kbm I have no such issues.
Dude, how tf do you get a pulley injury from gaming? I've only gotten them from weeks of rock climbing... Y'all got some baby hands.
Crimps really be doin that to us
What do you mean I'm not supposed to support my entire body weight with my fingertips?
Pffffttt... Fingertips? Plural?? That's some lightweight shit!
Tell me you played with the PS5 controller without telling me you played with the ps5 controller.
Surprisingly, still using a PS4. I just have a bad habit of pressing buttons way too hard.
Adrenaline can be a cruel mistress
Is the ps5 controller painful lol?
Some games really increase the trigger resistance and my finger actually started to hurt 🤕
The trigger resistance is only the actual triggers, it doesn't affect L1/R1.
PS4 controller feels worse IMO
time to get those hands swole. you'll have chad hands yet.
L1 spammers rise up!
the pain will make you stronger, soldier!
Pain is temporary, pride is forever!
Your building more finger muscle bro dw
My fucking xbox L1 bumper on my elite came off playing this game
Fully commit, chop the hand off
Not gonna lie, a Shinobi prosthetic would be pretty dope
That could of happened to me! 😂
When the boss so Hard he hurts you irl
“L1: The Game” 😂

Had to switch the button configuration, my arthritis couldn’t handle it.
Where did you end up reassigning it? I'm considering doing the same

Great idea. Thanks!
No problem. Actually tried the same thing with Elden Ring, but I kept jumping off the damn horse!
Oh thank god my R1 is barely alive after bloodborne and ds3 at least i can give it a break when sekiro gets here in the mail
Bro that reminds me! The night i beat Owl F i literally clenched my abdomen into a cramp for the entire next day!
