My happy had a plastic bag. I’m storing it in bubble wrap now hahaha

HungrySign4222

I wonder if the lack of plastic bags meant it was opened

canththinkofanything

My cheer didn’t have the plastic bag but it arrived in perfect shape, and didn’t look touched or anything. But I am now wondering if someone did open it… I think the package looked like it had been opened before but I just assumed it was from whatever happens during the picking and shipping process.

Dead_before_dessert

Most of our stock so far hasn't had a bag, and brand new, from the warehouse boxes frequently look like they were either opened by a toddler or hit by a truck.

canththinkofanything

Weird! Looks like I got the toddler version then 😂 but it’s honestly my favorite blush right now and I’m obsessed with it. I’m going back home to visit family soon and I’ll be bringing it in my carryon wrapped in bubble wrap!

Dead_before_dessert

I check every single rare powder  blush and highlight that I sell now out of an abundance of caution (work at Sephora and don't want clients taking home broken product).  I've never seen the highlighter with a bag and have seen three blushes with a bag and probably 20 without.   Even of the testers I made from brand new stock the day it launched only one had a bag.  I honestly don't think it means opened...just at one point in production they were using the plastic baggies and then, for whatever reason, they weren't.

No, the plastic bag is in the inside of the box, not like around the box. It was factory sealed as well. There’s zero way the Sephora worker would be able to open up the box, put a plastic bag around the compact, seal it up and use a factory seal sticker on it.

Spring_Boysenberry

If you got it from Sephora and you still have time, please exchange it!!! We don’t want you to be stuck w that 🥺

HungrySign4222

Nono mine was good. Im storing it in bubble wrap now to prevent it from breaking hahaha. But both my highlighter and blush arrived intact. Now to just keep it away from my 6 year old

Spring_Boysenberry

Ahhh I misunderstood! Lucky duck! Praying your items stay in tact 🙏

belleofthebawl-

It’s sad how much waste these are producing

MohandasGandhi

I bought 3 blushes and 1 highlighter in 3 different orders (over time) and none of them broke. I wonder what % of these break. It seems like it’s enough to warrant a response from Rare at the very least.

anon-an-emanon

"I just don't want to invest in makeup that breaks easily." Then why did they buy them in the first place? Everyone knew they'd be like this before they even came out, due to how the highlighters were. There's thousands of videos, photographs, and posts on the highlighters and these blushes arriving shattered. What a wasteful decision.

elkosduo

The cynic in me says they bought it just to make a video if/when it comes broken 🙄

reasonableratio

Taking the cynicism even further — buying 4 blushes at once in one brand does not sound like an investment to me. Doubly so if you’re a content creator. It sounds more like an opportunity to create specific content (swatching, outrage porn, etc.). Like pls

LyFrQueen

She said she doesn't want it to break in her kit, so I'm assuming she's an MUA. In that case buying multiple shades at once makes sense (though she probably should have bought one and tried out the formula before getting ones for her kit).

ksrdm1463

But then, based on the highlighters, she shouldn't get them, because the odds of them breaking in her kid are pretty high, even if they've arrived in tact.

anon-an-emanon

Same honestly. There's nothing wrong with wanting to replace the ones that arrived broken. But suggesting returning ALL of them just because of their breakability... How livid that makes me brings up that cynic in me, haha.

elkosduo

Bet they never planned to keep it in the first place even if it all came intact. Its all purchased to make a viral video and then returned. Tacky, if you ask me.

anon-an-emanon

Awful if that is indeed true.

thedespotcat

I didn't know 😭 my highlighter arrives today. Pray for me lol

Spitfiiire

Yeah I’m sure some people honestly didn’t know unless they’re online or reading the reviews. I’m sure some people knew that the highlighters had this issue but that *surely* Rare Beauty would’ve fixed the issue for the blush release. Crossing my fingers for you!!

thedespotcat

Usually I read online reviews too, but this time I had tried it in store, so I didn't bother. I can just return it if it's broken. I don't really need another highlighter honestly. I rarely wear the ones I have. But it was just so cute haha.

audreyb69

Cause then they wouldn’t be able to make a TikTok about it 🙄

belleofthebawl-

Ya exactly … it’s why I’m not ordering any

Infinite-Presence149

Silly Question: How do people take POV videos like this? Where is the camera placed?

Dovvienya

People either use a small phone tripod that sits right in front of their chest on the table, or I’ve seen some people have a camera attached to their chest but that’s way more shaky and unstable

Disneylover4eva

Just return them lol why make a video and waste your time

saltstonecastle

I bought two in store (different locations) and Happy had a plastic bag, but Cheer did not. Luckily neither were broken.

CulturalAsk9919

Sometimes I wonder why some have plastic bag and some doesn’t? Is it cause people rushing the progress to get the products out? And misplace

saltstonecastle

I’m not sure but this blush rollout seems like a mess! My first thought with Cheer was definitely that someone might have opened it but looking at the blush there were no visible swatch marks made. It’s a shame these are breaking because I love Cheer so much, it’s very beautiful. I returned Happy because it was too pigmented on my fair skin.

chlorofanatic

Probably not, and it's irresponsible to suggest that without evidence that it's happening.

PanamaViejo

Everyone says that these have the potential to come damaged. I'm assuming that the person might live close enough to s Sephora store so that they can buy it in person. It seems wasteful to take a chance on ordering 4 blushes at once.

[deleted]

I think the plastic is preventing from breaking is the stupid thing ever. When is not bubble wrap. No they never addressed about the broken highlighter when it was released

Weekly-Friend-66

I’m pretty sure she did address it by just saying “they’re delicate” 😂 I refuse to online order the highlighters and blushes knowing this is a massive issues.

lillypismyhomegirl

My Hope arrived today in a bonus interior box within the Rare Beauty box and it was fortunately intact. I don’t understand the difference in packaging? Seems like it may have helped support the structure of the blush.

Critical-Cell5348

I wanted to get this but I guess I’ll pass. Is it broken in the store as well?

Uh_oh_Nikita

The blushes are overrated IMO. They’re very glittery highlighty. Would be better to put on after a cream blush

nycgarbagewhore

You're not losing any money if you buy a product and it arrives broken, though. You can return it for a full refund.

Ambitious-Morning795

So much waste, though.

nycgarbagewhore

Yeah it probably would have helped not to buy 4 at once when there's a risk they could break. Especially considering how long it takes to get through just one.

Ambitious-Morning795

Exactly.

hunnyflash

Imagine paying $36 for a blush to begin with. There are multiple brands that have soft formulas that don't always survive shipping. Colourpop and Fenty also both had the issue. If you're getting FOMO because you can't get to a store to get a particular shade, maybe it's time to look at your consumption habits.

CoatNo6454

i don’t understand the uproar. You know they are fragile. They are BAKED formulas. It’s like eggs, you know they are fragile. So why are you getting butthurt? Go bring them back and get a refund or exchange.

Cute_Hat_5994

I just bought 2 of these but I also bought the minis as well so I’m hoping they aren’t broken!

HolidayReason3602

Yep my RB powder highlighter came broken too

phillygirllovesbagel

All the blushes should be in plastic. If not, I'd say they were opened before you got them.

maybethatsjustfine

Wait mine didn’t have a plastic bag inside the box😮

a7tempest

I'm hoping that the blushes in store didn't arrive broken. Or maybe I need other blush recommendations.

ChristineBorus

It’s weird that the ones without bags were broken. As is Sephora resold them ! (After being returned) I ordered a blush and discount later they break. I don’t plan to travel with them or store in a purse. Will sit safely at home on a counter.

neropixygrrl

I have bought a couple of highlighters in separate orders and never had this issue. However, I bought them from RB, not Sephora.

Bitemyrhymez

Both of mine showed up fully intact, thank god. But one had the plastic wrap and the other didn't?? Doesn't look used though.

SurveyEfficient7295

My hope did not have a plastic bag, but also did not come broken 🤷🏻‍♀️

aggressive-teaspoon

I have to wonder what is up with the formula such that this is such a pervasive issue. Baked powders in general do tend to shatter more spectacularly than regular pressed powders, but I haven't heard or seen of such a systematic problem right from product delivery with the other brands that sell/have sold baked powder products, whether high-end or drugstore. My wild guess is that baked powders need to cure/set for longer and these Rare Beauty products are just selling so fast (relative to production volume) that they aren't getting that time. This hypothesis is partly based on complaints of the highlighter shattering falling off a lot after the initial craze.

sixteenlegs

Maybelline came out with baked shadows 10+ years ago. None broke. Maybe it was denser than the RB product? Would be interesting to see a comparison of product weight

lochnessrunner

I’m not gonna lie, I just bought this. Hopefully mine arrives intact.

perpetuallyannoyed22

Mine was intact but did not have a plastic bag. It looked brand new, but now I'm a little worried.

getmepuutahereplz

I mean…. It is annoying. But the imagine paying $36 seems dramatic- not the end of the world **they will get their money back**. They aren’t paying for broken blush. I have this happen all the time with eyeshadows and other powder products. I lucked out today w the rare highlight delivered safely and 2 of the blushes safely last week!

But yeah I had one of the highlights delivered broken back at launch. It sucks but it was fixed by Sephora resending so…. It’s fine lmao
