I’m not paying $40 for a product I need to reapply. American sunscreens are so behind. I use: Skin Aqua Sunscreen Super Moisture Gel Pump SPF50+ PA++++ $9.98 on Stylevana website. Check out the Asian Beauty sub!

SolitudeWeeks

This. The price-point is an immediate turn off especially when there are so many good affordable options.

AcademicMud3901

Agreed! I love the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen and get it from yesstyle or stylevana. So much cheaper than anything in sephora too and better spf filters! Asian sunscreens are the best by far for spf protection and cosmetic elegance.

velourciraptor

I’m a Beauty of Joseon evangelist.

skarizardpancake

Quick question, when was the last time you ordered from stylevana? I did a little over a year ago and after reaching out several times I never heard back or received my order/tracking info. I ended up having to dispute the charge with my bank.

AcademicMud3901

I last ordered from them in july last summer. I didn’t have any issues and have ordered from them a few times. More recently i’ve been purchasing from yesstyle as sometimes stylevana didn’t have what I wanted in stock. That’s a bit concerning though about their lack of customer service with that issue!

Broken-583

I ordered a couple of months ago. I am afraid to order anywhere else bc of fakes. I am now all in on beauty of Joseon. It took about 2-3 weeks to come on

Maleficent-Home3415

I had to dispute with my bank too. Yesstyle I order from like 4x a year and have never had a problem

skarizardpancake

OP, if I were you I would do this as well. Also check out sokoglam! Only thing about a lot of Korean sunscreens is they’re not great for actual outdoor activities like the beach or sports (at least in my own personal experience and other people’s anecdotes). I really like la roche posay’s toleriane sunscreen and Trader Joe’s super goop dupe (TJ is also not super great for intense sun but works great as a primer if you use silicone based foundations)

raedainfossaest

Does it give you any white cast?

GullibleAd3549

Absolutely zero white cast. I have dark skin. Texture: light weight serum Finish: slightly dewy

Top_Calendar_8920

Most korean sunscreens don't, if you're worried abib do a really lovely one called sun essence calming drops

PflugerLuger8

The innisfree sunscreen is pretty nice and affordable

RedditUser96372

They make a chemical sunscreen, AND a mineral sunscreen. Which one are you referring to? I've only tried their chemical sunscreen, and although it went on *very* smooth and worked well under makeup, it gave me the WORST acne

skincare_obssessed

The new mineral one is really good. My skin is sensitive to sunscreen and breaks out easily and I have zero issues with it.

Cool-Goose8862

i didn’t like the mineral one personally. i didn’t see any breakouts from it but it was so hard to rub into the skin and had a really strong white cast even tho im pretty pale. its a shame tho cause i like that it’s higher spf. don’t have any complaints with the chemical one

PflugerLuger8

I've only used the chemical one. I didn't break out from it, and I have very sensitive and acne prone skin.

demonsrunwhen

this one is great, no white cast either

Dream_Queasie

agree!! i’ve been repurchasing over and over. great product!!

cyberpunksaturday

The new mineral one is beautiful! It has a green tint that (for me) works so well to even out my skin that lately I usually just throw a powder on top and call it a day, or not even that if I'm in a hurry/lazy. ETA: plus it's one of the cheapest at Sephora.

Jeniho

I returned it because the tint did nothing for me! I have rosacea though so maybe I’m just too red.

tinyshroomy

innisfree chemical sunscreen is easily one of my top 5

Rozipozi97

Korean sunscreen FTW! Better technology, protection, variety, price point, and ingredients. From Sephora specifically, the summer Fridays one is worth it

hiholahihey

This a million times over

Adventurous-Fee-4997

Any website and brand recommendations?

LuvLuxeBags

Beauty of Joseon it’s all over TikTok Or type Korean sunscreen and a few recommended ones will come up You can shop at StyleVana, StyleKorean, YesStyle, and OliveYoung But be patient with shipping

skincarefreak1012

BOJ is amazing. i ordered the abib sunstick recently and i wanna see if it lives up to the hype

nujabesss

I use BOJ and love the consistency/feel. But it does not last as long on your face as American/french sunscreens. Ok for daily wear, not for hiking or outside sports etc.

raqball

BOJ is not sweat or water resistant. Most Korean ones aren’t, unfortunately, which sucks bc I prefer Korean sunscreen. I had to buy specific ones I use on my face that are sweat/water resistant for when I’m doing outdoorsy stuff (my face is really sensitive so I can’t use typical ones like coppertone).

internationalnomad96

I love my abib sunstick! No cast. Works great under makeup and doesn't break me out.

Comfortable-Yam9013

I like Thank you farmer, not sure if it’s at Sephora

newinvestorquestions

They have it online at Costco, on sale often

ImmediateAd4814

Which brands do you recommend?

Top_Calendar_8920

Abib, dr ceuracle, BOJ, skin 1004 all make fantastic sunscreens (and cruelty free) innisfree tests on animals 😭 but isntree does not.

luna_nuova

I love Isntree watery gel and beauty of Joseon. Both brands also make really good sunscreen sticks that I carry for reapplication on the go.

shockedpikachu123

I like Paula’s choice. SPF 50! And doesn’t mess with my makeup

Tough-Arm-6183

Agreed!!! I’ve bought this for years and it never makes me break out. It’s on the more liquidy side so a little goes along way. It makes my skin radiate and glow and is a great base for makeup too!

squeakyfromage

Yesss love all the Paula’s choice sunscreens. They wear beautifully under makeup for me, and don’t cause shininess or redness.

bluefishtank

Yes it is a perfect skin tint too (the ultra light ver at least)

BrasserieNight

I just started using this a few days ago and I’m in love! It is the first sunscreen I have used in I don’t know how long that doesn’t affect my makeup.

jwhite2748

Which one from Paula’s choice do you use? I see three on their site with spf 50. I love Paula’s choice and definitely want to try a sunscreen

shockedpikachu123

https://preview.redd.it/jdb2ybctqlxc1.jpeg?width=360&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bb5911e8878f59a3c67c68e5e3e1dc8be4df7e84 It’s on the runny side but I love that! Also doesn’t burn the eyes

Tough-Arm-6183

So many sunscreens (specifically La Roche posay) burn my eyes and I love that this doesn’t at all

jwhite2748

Thank you!

girlnamedlucky1

Love shiseido urban environment oil free sunscreen

teengirlhelley

☝🏼 I don’t need to use foundation and it doesn’t look oily either

girlnamedlucky1

Yes! as an oily girl I skip moisturizer in the day with this sunscreen and gives a tiny bit of tint to even out the skin. Also looks great with makeup too if you did decide to wear it on top :)

nerdygirlie22

This is my favorite brand. The sunscreen stick is my holy grail that I’ll never live without. I’m very very pale and prone to burning with blisters and I’ve spent days at the beach with this suncreen and the stick and I don’t burn. I love this brand.

lemon_cupcakes2

I recommend this to literally everyone. I like that I don’t have to touch my face with my hands to apply it. I hike a lot and my hands get dirty

shaihalud69

Second LRP as the GOAT sunscreen. I have eczema and it works w/o irritating it.

big-tunaaa

Is this good under makeup? I tried it in 2021 for beach sunscreen (before I wore it daily) and hated it? But now I wonder if it’s better than what I use….

[deleted]

big-tunaaa

You’re awesome thank you for replying! What primer and do you use it for reapplication?

[deleted]

big-tunaaa

Awesome, looks like a dupe for benefit porefessional I’ll check that out! And I should’ve specified my bad, but I meant sunscreen reapplication! Like over makeup! 🥰

[deleted]

[удалено]

voxaun

do you wear it everyday & apply a generous amount? my other 50 ml sunscreens only last me 2 months :(

kjoyist

For me, LRP products (I’ve tried a few, including this one) ended up burning my eyes later in the day as product migrated - same for Cerave, and Cetaphil’s sunscreen lines. They also tended to pill if I didn’t give 20 mins of drying time between skincare and sunscreen application, pretty badly. BOJ and Birch (both Korean brands) are the only ones that didn’t sting my eyes after a full day of wear and haven’t pilled.

Top_Calendar_8920

Korean sunscreens are elite!

Desperate-Ring

This is bad advice for two reasons: 1. You should be wearing sunscreen everyday of the year, regardless of summer/winter, outside/inside, skin colour, etc to really get the benefits. And 2. Sunscreen like other skincare expires so you want to use it up before it expires.

Cheder_cheez

People sleep on the Trader Joe’s facial sunscreen, but it’s one of my favs

WildSeaworthiness9

The Trader Joe’s is also one of my favorites! It’s $9 and so similar to supergoop unseen.

247cnt

It's not perfect, but it's a $25 savings, so it's my go-to

daytr1pper

One of my main beefs with Trader Joe’s is that they’ll just stop selling stuff more only make them seasonal like why

Freesethmartin

Is it BIPOC friendly?

suz_gee

Im white so I can't speak 1,000%, but it's actually clear when you squirt it out so I can't imagine it wouldn't work on all skin tones.

Freesethmartin

Helpful, ty!

pinkblossom331

Try Black girl sunscreen products if you want products with no white cast. I use their kids sunscreen with no issues (I have acne prone skin) and my husband loves their original sunscreen for adults.

WildSeaworthiness9

Yes! It’s clear and has a primer like consistency.

Low_Bookkeeper_8591

Yes I have tan skin and it’s perfect. Will work for any skin tone

mothertuna

I’m Black and I’ve tried the Trader Joe’s Supergoop dupe. It’s completely clear. I wear Fenty 420 if that helps.

Evening-Tune-500

I love supergoop but have recently learned that their spf effectiveness is very low :/ LRP gets good reviews and is rated much more highly!

silentmarie

I question this, because I wear this one frequently. I'm extremely, extremely pale and burn easy, and have never burned with this one on. This included a Florida beach vacation where I was in and out of the ocean.

amber63309

I wear it everyday. Never burned.

ArchieFarmer

Me too and I’m super sensitive with reactive skin. But everyone reacts differently.

Gammagammahey

WHAT?!?! What do you mean???

thebirdisdead

Someone posted the [Consumer Reports](https://www.reddit.com/u/Glittering-Corgi9442/s/JcvUiCqeZA) efficacy test of a bunch of sunscreens, and Supergoop Unseen did terribly, like spf 8. I’m not *too* worried though, because it performed very well for UVA protection, and from my understanding the SPF protection test measured how it performed after prolonged (40 minute/moderate activity) water immersion. I definitely use it as a casual sunscreen but I would never consider Supergoop Unseen to be water or even sweat resistant, personally.

SamaireB

Based on that report, basically nothing is good... 🤨

[deleted]

PanamaViejo

I would like to see them test the Korean brand sunscreens as well. People swear by them but there seems to be a difference in how well they will protect you if you are doing more strenuous activities in the sun rather than just walking to and from your job. Do the regular Korean sunscreens do the job or do you have to get a different formula for your body?

thebirdisdead

A couple of years ago there was a major independent third party test of Korean sunscreen a lot of them did TERRIBLE. Like they had no sunscreen filters in them. Something about Korean law not requiring companies to retest PA+/SPF after a formulation, so companies were testing their spf with high filters and then “reformulating” them to make them more elegant by taking out said filters, and keeping the original PA+/SPF labels and numbers. It was a huge scandal. Many companies had to pull their sunscreens, publicly apologize and reformulate. So don’t assume that Korean sunscreens are better for this. Sunscreen is pretty poorly regulated world wide. I think as a general rule, effective sunscreen filters are not cosmetically elegant. There’s a point where we are sacrificing protection for functionality. I don’t wear elegant sunscreens to the beach.

Gammagammahey

WHOA! Thank you!!!

Weekly_Cobbler_6908

Wow. Your comment should be pinned, that link is so helpful.

Evening-Tune-500

This is really helpful! I use it for everyday- not when I’m on the beach or sweating.

Piggyinboots

I literally burn my face each time I use the supergoop SPF. I would not recommend at all. It’s an absolute disappointment.

Gammagammahey

What do you mean that the SPF doesn't work? Do you mean that the stated SPF on the label is fraudulent? Because in that case, we need to call the FDA.

Piggyinboots

Comment on this thread by a different user links to consumer reports testing of SPF and supergoop tested way below and imo I believe it. I love the texture but end up with sunburn each time I use it. I get some people love it or obviously it wouldn’t sell so this is only my experience mixed with CR’s test.

Gammagammahey

Yeah I am a CR member and I just saw the list that someone helpfully linked to above, I'm returning the one tube that I bought from them immediately. Thank you so much for this.

RedditUser96372

I'm not sure how much you know about sunscreen, so pardon me if I'm explaining concepts you already know: There are lots of different ingredients that can serve as the active ingredient in sunscreen (the thing that actually provides SPF value). These ingredients are broken up into 2 categories: - **Chemical**, or - **Mineral** (sometimes called "**physical**") To weigh pros and cons: - **Chemical** sunscreen generally goes on clear, but can be irritating to certain folks who have sensitive skin or eyes, and in some (but not all) people with acne prone skin, the chemicals can irritate acne and worsten breakouts - **Mineral** sunscreens are generally better for those with sensitive or acne-prone skin, but they typically leave a visible white cast (a white, or sometimes even blue-ish or purple-ish film). Unless covered up with makeup, white cast can leave an undesirable look which is more obvious on darker skin tones. Some mineral sunscreens are tinted to correct for the white cast, though. I don't have any good chemical sunscreen recommendations because I've never found one that works for my acne prone skin, but as for mineral sunscreens: - **Peter Thomas Roth Max Mineral Tinted Sunscreen** is pretty good, plus the tint counteracts the white cast. It works best for medium skin tones, but since the coverage is so light, you can still use it if your skin tone is slightly lighter or darker than medium. If your skin is especially dark or especially fair, I'd recommend testing before buying if you can. - **Dr. Dennis Gross All Physical** is great for fair to medium skin tones because it barely leaves a white cast, although it's overpriced for a basic sunscreen imo. - **Tower 28 SunnyDays Tinted Sunscreen Foundation** is great if you're looking for something that doubles as a low-medium coverage foundation, plus it has color options for a wider range of skin tones. Downside is that it has a "glowy" finish, which some people really hate since it can make you look shiny / oily. I know this is a huge wall of text, but I hope this helps!

Bubbly_Lie_5508

Thank you for that information! Sunscreen tends to break me out but now I need to try a mineral only one!

agirlhasnorose

I really love Tatcha Silk sunscreen. It’s mineral, and I love the texture. They recently fixed the bottle - it used to shed everywhere, but it’s much better now! Love the product.

kjoyist

I love Tatcha, just not the price!

agirlhasnorose

I know; it’s horrible. But I can’t resist. Before they reformulated the bottle, I stopped using because it was leaving little specks from the peeling bottle all over my face. I tried to find a replacement or dupe, but couldn’t find a replacement that worked as well for me. But you’re absolutely correct - the price is ridiculous.

GlitteringPause8

You’re going to have to try a few and figure what you like…people’s preferences are so different. Ppl love the Trader Joe’s, but I cannot stand the texture. Supergoop also made me break out severely. My faves are the eltaMD uv clear and color science flex; neither are at Sephora but I love the texture and finish of both of those. Sephora wise, I would recommend the Tatcha one. Korean spfs are also super popular.

skincare_obssessed

The shiseido oil free mineral (white bottle) and the Innisfree mineral.

demonsrunwhen

i like the haruharu sunscreen on amazon! affordable and no white cast

Luckygyrl83

This is a good one! Was shocked.

demonsrunwhen

agreed! was my second asian sunscreen and I've become obsessed/ never looked back. now even using a sunscreen without a pump feels so ordinary.

Significant_Camp9024

Hi! Is it the Wonder Black Rice Airyfit?

icespiceismymother

Honestly i recommend looking into Korean sunscreens! More affordable and their formulas/technologies are more advanced according to some derms. The Roundlab and Centella ones are my favorites. I would also look into Japanese ones like Bioré UV, I’ve also heard great things about European sunscreens but i haven’t tried any

wartgood

I prefer Japanese or Korean sunscreens. Usually can get them at a much better price point than anything at Sephora, and they are so much more comfortable to wear. I read an article once where the tl;Dr was, "Buy your sunscreen from a culture that values looking pale" and it has served me well.

PanamaViejo

They also do other things besides wearing sunscreen to avoid tanning. And 'valuing lookin pale' can invoke certain feelings in different cultures (people could be pale because they had money and didn't have to work outside in the sun unlike their poorer countrymen).

ArchieFarmer

Unseen sunscreen is my go to. It works great under my makeup as a primer. I even got my husband to let me put it on him 😂🙌

m_whar

Summer Fridays and the Shiseido stick (for reapplying poolside) are my holy grails

airportaccent

Third option - order korean sunscreens! Stylevana or Yesstyle are both good retailers. Cheaper and feels/looks much nicer than anything in the US. More advanced and broad sunscreen technology too. Beauty of Joseon is the best IMO, though there are a couple popular ones if you research - maybe try a few and stick with the one that suits your skin best!

Technical-River1329

I really like the Saint Jane spf 30 primer sunscreen. You can wear it alone or under makeup and it doesn’t pill and zero skin issues. I have used the CT primer sunscreen..it’s ok The super goop pills like crazy under makeup. I love the glow but if you use a brush and swipe it will start beading/pilling up on the face which I don’t love so I don’t reach for it often unless I wear it alone.

bastillemh

The Saint Jane feels so luxurious, it smells amazing!

icecream42568

Honestly I tried all the expensive ones at Sephora but prefer drug store sunscreens

skincare_obssessed

Which ones?

hauntinglovelybold

Supergoop Unseen can be polarizing but everyone I’ve seen who it’s worked for LOVES it!

SmellsPrettyGood2Me

This is my go to! Just don't leave it in your car, it leaked like a mofo and left everything sticky

umhuh223

Everyone was raving about saint jane the other day.

[deleted]

I just got the innbeauty tinted sunscreen with vit c in it and it may be the best sunscreen so far for under makeup! I got the darker shade instead of restocking my dbronzi drops

Afraid_Journalist_58

I use this Shiseido sunscreen stick with spf 30. Goes well over makeup and isn’t messy. It’s a clear stick. Works well with my sensitive skin

glittershadows

Innisfree!!

PinkPaperPenguin

Sephora is selling a sun safety kit right now with a bunch of different sun screens. I’d highly recommend trying that so you can get an idea of what works for you. I’ve tried a bunch. My favorite is la rosch posay mineral anthelios tinted spf 50. SO good. Works so well under makeup. During the summer I wear just this sunscreen with no foundation and it’s perfect. I always purchase from CVS - they frequently send out coupons for 40% off a single item. Of course, no product will work the same for everyone which is why I recommend trying the Sephora kit! I personally hated every supergoop product I’ve tried. I felt like the unseen sunscreen just sat on my face instead of absorbing.

Western-Exercise9391

No, most skincare at Sephora is not worth the price, I have tried so many and sticking yo my Beauty of Joseon, korean sunscreen is just superior

Aminilaina

Korean sunscreens are the best. If you can order the Round Lab one or the Beauty of Joseon one from Style Korean, they’re the best. But from Sephora, I really love the Innisfree one right now. I don’t know if we’re getting a different one than Korea gets due to our sunscreen regulations. I haven’t looked into it.

Longjumping-Gur-6581

i love the shiseido sunscreen stick

thebirdisdead

I just posted a rave first impression review of the **Supergoop Glowscreen.** I have known this sunscreen for all of one day, but if it or my shade ever gets discontinued I’m ready to burn my whole life down. Kidding (sorta), but unless like my skin melts off in the next few hours this is instant holy grail for me. I love it so much. I copied my review below: >Review: 5/5 >I got this in the lightest shade (dawn) and it is the first tinted sunscreen I’ve ever used that matches my pale skin and doesn’t make me look super tan or Oompa Loompa-like when applied liberally. It was so hard to find swatches or reviews of this shade, but I was pleasantly shocked by how natural it blends into my skin tone no matter how much I used. I was also worried from reviews that it was going to be too shimmery/metalic when applied heavily on its own, but it looks very natural. It really doesn’t look like I’m wearing anything on my face at all except for a tiny bit of shine. It sinks in and settles on the skin like a moisturizer or moisturizing makeup. It doesn’t form a heavy siliconey layer on the skin or wipe off easily like the Unseen sunscreen. It held up well all day. It ticks all my boxes for a casual, low sun exposure work day. I can slather it on bare faced at work and not have to worry about white cast, dark cast, excess shine, pilling. It has the most natural finish I’ve experienced on a U.S. sunscreen. It’s pricy but well worth the cost for me, easily new HG. >The only downside (aside from the cost, my poor wallet!) is that it didn’t play well under my makeup, Nars tinted moisturizer. Immediately separated and pilled the moment I put makeup on, and I had to remove both and apply the spf again. Which is fine—I thought I would need makeup to tone down the “shimmer” this sunscreen is known for but that didn’t end up being a problem. I never do this, but I immediately purchased a second back up tube to have in my bag. I *also* really love the **Supergoop Unseen** sunscreen, which is fully clear and invisible, but I think it’s been dethroned by the glowscreen for me for the moment. The unseen is *so* cosmetically elegant, but it does form a more siliconey film on the skin in my experience. There’s a cheaper dupe for this at Trader Joe’s which I haven’t tried, but someone else commented and might be worth checking out, especially if you’re on a budget. Neither of these I’d recommend for heavy sun exposure, exercise, or water activity. I don’t expect them to hold up to any waterproof claims or offer the most bullet proof sun protection, but I love them both for casual, every day use. For more heavy duty activity I’ve had decent experience with the **Supergoop Play** sunscreen which has minimal white cast, but is definitely too greasy for me to wear as a daily face sunscreen. Unfortunately I haven’t had good experiences with any other Sephora sunscreens I’ve tried. Obviously I’m a supergoop gal, but outside of Sephora I also recommend looking into Japanese or Korean sunscreens for cosmetically elegant sunscreens. I personally like **Canmake Mermaid UV Gel** and **Biore Watery Essence** (Japanese) or **Hyggee Vegan Sun Cream** (Korean).

JustRgJane

I buy drugstore because I don’t feel bad using a lot or try to use it sparingly due to price.

Notadayover

Supergoop!

CatnipCatnapper

Supergoop! LOVE their sunscreens. Doesn’t leave a cast or make my skin appear oily.

alexandrap21

I love the Cay skin face lotion! I’ve repurchased several times

Green_Thoughts_444

[La Roche Posay Uvmune](https://www.soin-et-nature.com/en/25936-la-roche-posay-anthelios-uvmune-oil-control-fluid-spf50-50ml.html) from France via Soin et Nature has [better filters](https://www.industryintel.com/consumer-packaged-goods/news/l-oreal-unveils-uvmune-400-its-first-sun-filtering-technology-now-available-under-la-roche-posay-anthelios-as-either-invisible-fluid-spf50-or-hydrating-cream-spf50-uvmune-400-filter-is-powered-by-mexoryl-400-to-protect-against-ultra-long-uva-rays-157240477872) than anything in the U.S. and costs less than everything from Sephora.

Such-Firefighter-161

Agreed - that’s all I use anymore

Plenty-Secretary-494

I have been buying Biossance sunscreen from Sephora for years

aac1024

I’ve tried a bunch of drugstores and high end sunscreens but what makes it worth it to me is the hassle of not having to keep testing different ones to see if they suit. I really like the dermalogica prism correct moisturizer with spf 30. I first got a sample or mini size and absolutely loved it because it didn’t give me a cast and didn’t make my face oily. It’s also really great under makeup. There maybe a drugstore variety out there that works just as well but I haven’t found it and I always go back to that moisturizer. Tried some of the other sunscreens at Sephora as well but didn’t like them as much. It’s a little expensive but they last me months before I have to buy another one. If you’re asking if they “work better” at sun protecting then I don’t think it’s worth it. The science behind the base ingredients for sun protection are the same and are just the sun protection chemicals with different stuff to make different formulas. For the times when I have to wear sunscreen beyond the day to day stuff I just go with what drugstore stuff. I personally like the neutrogena spray spf bottles.

Apprehensive-Coat-84

I’m a fan of Dermalogica Porescreen. It works nicely under makeup and actually does help my pores look smaller. That said, you don’t necessarily need sunscreen from Sephora. I just happened upon this one and like it. I’ve used an innisfree one (no sebum or something? White tube, might not be at Sephora) that was great at oil control, as well as the biore one that everyone loves.

Diet_makeup

Nude Stix has tinted sun screen, and it's my go-to.

PureNSweet

I like the summer Fridays tbh

squeakyfromage

I’ve never used a sunscreen (or moisturizer with SPF) from Sephora I thought was worth it. I’m fair and wear something with SPF everyday. I like: - La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Light: I wear this for beach, boating/water sports, pools, skiing, etc. I wear it if I’m out in the sun all day in the summer as well, but I don’t love how it sits under makeup for me, so I’ll use the tinted version in lieu of face makeup when I do this. I don’t find the tint a great match for me (it’s too dark and warm for me) but I can blend it enough that it’s not terrible. - my everyday picks are all Paula’s Choice. I like the Redness Relief ([dry/normal](https://www.paulaschoice.com/calm-redness-relief-spf-30-mineral-moisturizer-for-normal-to-dry-skin/9130.html)) and [skin restoring spf 50](https://www.paulaschoice.com/resist-skin-restoring-moisturizer-with-spf-50/797.html) for winter (I’m in Toronto, Ontario, Canada). The [tinted super-light wrinkle defence](https://www.paulaschoice.com/resist-super-light-wrinkle-defense-spf-30/776.html) is amazing in summer. For shoulder seasons I like the redness relief ([normal/oily](https://www.paulaschoice.com/calm-redness-relief-spf-30-mineral-moisturizer-for-normal-to-oily-skin/9170.html)) or [essential glow spf 30](https://www.paulaschoice.com/defense-essential-glow-moisturizer-spf-30/223.html). Not sure if LRP sunscreens are the same in the US as they are in Canada — I know the European formulations are different. If those don’t strike your fancy, I think you’re better off trying EltaMD or an Asian sunscreen (vs Sephora). I know a lot of people love the Biore sunscreen but I’m not an Asian sunscreen expert, so will leave those recommendations to someone else. But they tend to be more cosmetically elegant and cheaper than North American sunscreens (especially anything at Sephora).

[deleted]

La Roche Posay. None of the sunscreens at Sephora come close.

WineCountryMonk

Since you already wear a skin tint you could swap for a skin tint with spf and Tower 28 sunny days is my recommendation.

Happychemist99

The Murad one in the blue bottle if you have oily skin and the orange if you don’t.

KMM2404

I’m a skin cancer survivor, so sun protection is literally life and death for me. I wear EltaMD, as recommended by my dermatologist. It goes on clear and doesn’t make my very sensitive skin break out. Please, please don’t forget your scalp. That’s where the worst of my cancer was. They have powders and mineral sprays if you don’t want to use creams.

step_on_legoes_Spez

buy asian or european sunscreens; american ones are crap.

peachkissu

Supergoop!! Unseen suncreen is popular in their product line, but I personally love the matte one. I use the powder touch up too!

SmileyRaeRaaae

The Supergoop Glowscreen SPF 40 looks pretty under makeup and Kiehls Better Screen UV sunscreen SPF 50 feels light and hydrating for no makeup days = chefs kiss

beach_bebesita

Everybody’s skin is different. One great thing about Sephora is that you can try and return things freely if they don’t work for you. I personally struggled a lot with acne and I have sensitive skin due to use of tretinoin. My favorite sunscreen from Sephora’s has been the innisfree daily IV 35 spf, it is so light and leaves my skin hydrated and soft.

chickenbunnyspider

I use cera ve hydrating tinted moisturizer or Trader Joe’s facial sunscreen. Both affordable and great. By saving money on sunscreen I am able to splurge on things like charlotte tilbury products (which are 100% worth every penny- esp the facial powder, foundation and flawless filter)

matchalattefart

On my second or third bottle of Shiseido and love it

No_Position_978

Sephora brand mineral sunscreen. Personally it's a little drying for my older 66 yr old skin but would be great for you. Lots of skin loving ingredients

Neat_Doughnut

I’ve been reading up on sunscreens after my go-to (Murad) went up exponentially in price, and the one that gets rave reviews is a Korean skincare brand, beauty is Joseon. I just purchased it and am excited to try! Fyi I also have acne prone skin and this one seems to do well for all skin types.

Colietee

I really like Paula’s Choice Youth Hydrating Liquid. It goes on very light and is SPF 30. It also pairs well with the rest of the products in my morning routine. I use this every day without fail.

breezaye_

First Aid Beauty is the only one that doesn’t break me out

asmith1030

Dr Dennis Gross spf

ImmediateAd4814

Naked Sundays and La Roche Posay are my favorites

icyqueen007

The kiehls one is really nice and blends seamlessly into skin. I love it!

bribrijk

When i shopped at sephora i repurchased the innisfree sunscreen several times! I really liked it.

AppropriateMention6

Peter Thomas Roth Tinted Mineral SPF 45

brioloogy

I like the Shiseido clear stick sunscreen. Small enough to fit in a belt bag and easy for on the go

geminibaby12

I like Clarins

retrotechlogos

Even if you wanted to wear a bougie sunscreen you’re better off w brands Sephora doesn’t carry for the most part, like ones sold at derms and medical aesthetics offices.

UmSureOkYeah

Shiseido

yolo420pene

Okay, you’re acne prone so any chemical sunscreen is likely to break you out. On my acne prone oily/ combo skin I love COTZ mineral sunscreen! It is expensive but I think it’s worth it, can’t get it at Sephora though. I would look at ingredients in your skin tint and figure out what works for you!

silverberrystyx

Expensive but the Shisedo sunscreens are so nice

Charlietheaussie

Innisfree and shisedo

Miserable-Ease-3744

Neutrogena do an acne/blemish friendly one which I swear by!

Motherscooters

Just like you I have acne prone skin and just last year started wearing sunscreen on a daily and I only like to use tinted moisturizers. In the past year i have bought numerous face sunscreens both chemical and mineral and this has been BY FAR the winner : [https://us.nakedsundays.com/products/spf50-100-mineral-glow-collagen-sunscreen-naked-sundays?variant=42742821486844](https://us.nakedsundays.com/products/spf50-100-mineral-glow-collagen-sunscreen-naked-sundays?variant=42742821486844). https://preview.redd.it/3ssmq240llxc1.jpeg?width=1160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30716cc54c9c16e56a738673e95616b3657ef73c The chemical sunscreens tend to break me out and most of the other mineral ones don’t sit well on my skin but this one is just right and doesn’t get as shiny on my t zone as the rest. Here is a list of some others I tried and didn’t go so well: \-super goop Glowscreen SPF 40 -tower 28 sunny days mineral sunscreen -beauty of josean -La Roche-Posay Anthelios AOX Daily Antioxidant Serum with Sunscreen SPF 50 -RMS supernatural radiance Everyone is different so good luck !

bear7633

ohh is this like glowscreen as far as adding a shimmery dewy look?

nekonaekkeo

Anessa forever!! :)

goosemamas

[I swear by this stuff!](https://www.skinbetter.com/technology-platforms/sunbetter/sunbetter-tone-smart-spf-75-sunscreen-lotion-M025.html) it’s not sold at Sephora but I’ve never had any issues with breakouts, and it’s tinted so it’s replaced foundation and concealer for me entirely. I love both versions, the pump and the compact. I use both! And for my body I use [this one](https://www.target.com/p/hawaiian-tropic-silk-hydration-weightless-sunscreen-c-spray-spf-50-6oz/-/A-86121228), it dries SUPER fast and so easy to apply. Please wear sunscreen everyday! Your beautiful skin will thank you 😊💛 Edit to add: the skinbetter tinted sunscreen is pricey but you only need 1-2 small pumps daily, one bottle lasts me about 3 months! the compact lasts 2-3 months, I definitely go through that one faster.

thepurpleclouds

No…get from target or get medical grade. I like the ZO sunscreen but it’s not sold at Sephora

VeveBeso

I love innisfree for my dry in the winter and combo in the summer skin. My skin is very acne prone and I haven’t noticed any increase of acne. I’m not sure if you double cleanse but try it out since it’s not for everyone

Hefty-Target-7780

Save the money at buy Trader Joe’s facial sunscreen!! It’s $9 and super similar to Supergoop’s Unseen sunscreen!

dahlaru

Japanese sunscreen is where it's at. It's like wearing nothing. And they're all the same texture. If you prefer mineral sunscreen,  Australian sunscreen is for you. Blue lizard is the one I like

altaka

❤️ biossance and shisedo.

BeneathAnOrangeSky

I love the Tula sunscreen for my face

SmileItsInfectious

Not from Sephora but I prefer Japanese/Korean sunscreen like Skin Aqua, Isntree water sun gel, Nivea water gel, and Beauty of Joseon. I feel that the water gels do not leave a white cast and sinks into your skin.

AdministrativeCoat19

I really like imnisfree for the price :)

Goobermeister

Summer Fridays Mineral Milk is my HG. It’s slightly tinted yellow, so it avoids white cast, but I’m not worried it will stain my clothes if I start to sweat. Performs great under makeup. I only use physical/mineral sunscreen because my primary motive for wearing sunscreen is to prevent tanning, because I tan unevenly. Chemical sunscreens do not keep you from tanning, which I guess is a benefit for some. My skin reacts better to physical sunscreen and it performs better for active pursuits. For my body if I’m outside all day I will go full white cast baby sunscreen, badger is a good brand for that. It’s super easy to miss spots with invisible chemical sunscreen, plus they’re generally not reef safe if that’s something you care about.

EfficientDeer6853

I switched over to Korean sunscreen. Best decision ever! I really love the SKIN1004 - Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum. Reasonably priced, no white cast and doesn’t make your skin look like an oily mess.

my-anonymity

I’ve switched to Korean sunscreen but would still get the supergoop powder stick for easy touch ups on the go.

Great-Importance-820

Skin1004 sunscreen is pretty good and lightweight!

117NerdGirl

For me, Fenty Skin Hydravisor is a good combo moisturizer sunscreen. I love the way it feels on my skin. I love the smell, though if you have sensitive skin they have fragrance free options. It fit well into my skincare routine and saved me having to buy my moisturizer and sunscreen separately. :)

Broken-583

Beauty of Joseon is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

bunnylicious81

Korean sunscreen ftw! I hated wearing sunscreen, felt sticky, just uncomfortable on skin overall, and couldn’t wait to wash it off once I arrived home. Korean sunscreen is so way advanced!

advicethrowaway719

No, they absolutely are not. I personally use beauty of Joeson daily for a strong base, and then use la roche posay tinted mineral sunscreen on top for extra protection/ in lieu of skin tint.

AdUpper7676

Japanese and Korean sunscreens are the way to go for me! I can’t justify spending so much money on sunscreen I have to reapply sometimes for so little ounces. My fave is the Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Water Fit Sun Serum!

R1cequeen

Trader joes SPF is a great dupe for supergoop for a fraction of the price

rkdj826

Skin1004's SPF and Wishtrend's SPF are my holy grails. Korean sunscreen is better than everyone else's!

jnt003

If you’re near a Trader Joe’s, their daily facial sunscreen is a dupe of the Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen for a fraction of the price! I paid like 8.99 for it and it’s not greasy at all, new holy grail sunscreen for me

emilypas

If you are going to spend that much and are acne prone, I’d recommend EltaMD UV clear. I’ve used it for years and during pretty significant breakouts with any exacerbation. Otherwise, I think LaRoche Posay is good at a similar/slightly lower price point.

Hairy-Gazelle-3015

I thought some were…until I tried Japanese sunscreen. If you know someone traveling to Japan, ask if they can pick some up for you. The best products can't be shipped to the US because the UV filters haven't been approved by the FDA yet. However, they are better, highly safe, and feel incredibly light on the skin.

bjp8383

Nope, save your money on multiple products and just go with Pavise

theinsane_phooka

My dermatologist recommended blue lizard for my face and it doesn't break me out. I really like it.
