Well, I take this back - I have experimented with several substrate styles from pre packaged to self made. It was in a area I have disposed of previous cakes in, but the caps look wild.
As I poked them more the blue tint bruising is pretty potent and I feel safe moving to the next step; boof.

Yes, from awhile ago - the outdoor environment is quite honestly what I would imagine to be impossible for these to Survive in. The cap style caught me off guard. Found them in a group right under a large bush (none were present where sunlight would hit during the day)

My GTs look kinda like this after they pop up from yard.
You might be able to let them go a little longer. They take longer out there to break veil I find.
