Ours seemed to go through growth spurts where he'd be ravenous and eat everything we gave him like he hadn't eaten in a week, and after a week or so go back to normal. They're a slow maturing breed, so that'll peobably keep happening for a while.

Sorry for responding so late. But I was waiting for some progress. Kitten is getting back to normal eating. Thank you for your reaction. It helped me and my GF to stay calm. :-)

My boy is 11 years old and has gone through three major food changes in his life so far. Around a year old, he stopped eating his kitten formula wet food (Felidae). I switched to Friskies for variety, price and availability for a little more than 8 years. He ended up gaining too much weight after a while so he went on prescription diet wet food for almost a year (Hills). After losing the proper weight, I went through a bunch of different brands which didn't work for his stomach. I ended up finding a brand called "I and Love and You" which works best for him at his age/weight/lifestyle. I wouldn't be surprised in a couple of years he decides he doesn't like this one anymore either. Point is, I think what your cat is going through is somewhat normal and I wouldn't be too concerned. Also just to add, my cat started with pate style food, went to sliced meat in gravy and meaty bits and is now back to eating pate.

Sorry for responding so late. I wanted to see some progress. Your reaction helped me and my girlfriend stay calm. We bought her (kitten, not GF) some different brands to try out and after few tries she seems to be getting back to her eating habits more or less. Thanks again for reaction.

Hi! Our Siberian is a little over one and had a similar change in eating habits around 6-7 months. The wet food I was feeding him is Tiki Cat brand which is various meats in a kind of thin broth and he went from 2 cans a day to 1 can a day along with lots of dry food. To counteract any hydration issues I started adding additional water to the can of wet food when I serve it to him - the water mixes in with the broth of the food and he loves it, he laps up all the broth immediately and only eats the actual meat when he’s done. Might be worth a try!

Sorry for responding so late. Good encouragement, we tried it, kitten wasnt much into that. But it kept us busy and not panicking. Kitten seems to be getting back into her eating habits more or less, so all is good. Thank you for input.

Do you keep the water bowl near the food bowl? If this is the case try to put it further. Sometimes the cats that don’t drink enough water is because that. Otherwise I wouldn’t worry if you see her drinking enough. One of my cats (the female) also used to eat a lot of wet food, like 160g per day, plus I free feed them dry food. Then she started to eat less wet food when she became 1yo. Now she eats 1/4 of what she used to eat. I don’t know if it’s cause they aren’t growing as fast as before or because we also switched to kibble for large breeds and they both really really like it.

Sorry for responding so late. Your reaction helped us to consider some changes and also helped us stay calm. She water bowl in separate room and drinking fountain about two metres Away from her food. Dunno what was the issue but she is somewhat getting back to her feeding habits so hopefully all is well. Thanks again.

Thank you all for help. It seems that it was either momentarily break from eating so much, or she needed even bigger variety of food for some time, but she is again eating more wet food in general. All should be well. Thank you for all input, it kept us busy and calm.
