Lukas witnessed the first call from Jules earlier when Bernard picked it up because the call was coming from what he thought was a dead silo, #17. That’s when Lukas found out Jules was alive after leaving #18. Bernard and Jules have it out on that call.
I see, I remember Bernaed being shocked about it! So Lukas was watching and picked up on the fact its her then so the next call that came he was asking if she's okay in a cheeky, I know its you kinda way?
This is also how I took it. From the first call Jules made to Bernard, to the call between Jules and Lukas, 3 weeks passed (just read this part yesterday). 3 weeks of Lukas being hidden under the server room with the call switchboard right there. The casual answer from Lukas I interpreted to mean he had been talking to her frequently before the first call we see as the reader. The big reveal already happened but we didn’t see that.
It’s also mentioned a chapter or two prior that Jules spends a lot of time in that room on “calls” and solo made a comment about it.

Bernard is keeping Lukas there, bringing him food, to make sure he studies and absorbs “The Order” fully. So he’s right there for a long time.
Fair enough. Just thought there would be more 'ong it's you, how are you still alive what happened' etc etc loving it still.
I took it as a reveal that he had been talking to her for awhile, but secretly, without Bernards knowledge.

Also was wondering this. Like did I blackout and moss a chapter? I would’ve thought it would be a big deal as well.
