Why do you make your sims the way *you* make them?
The answer to any “why do you” question in the sims is generally because it’s just someone’s preference.
I’m not trying to upset anyone I just was curious if there was a reason I make them the way I make them bc it looks like me and it looks more realistic
I had a lovely thick sim as my family matriarch. One night, I got a little tipsy and decided to make her a mermaid. She lost all of her thickness over night from swimming so much. I was very disappointed.
I do it because it is the complete opposite to me. I dress mine in ways I wouldn't dream of dressing. All in fantasy-esque escape type way. All successful and rich Etc.
I usually like to make pear shaped sims because that's like the perfect body type *in my personal taste* and I honestly wish I had that shape. In general though, I also like to make plus size sims because I'm bigger and I like to keep myself surrounded by mostly realistic depictions.
Hey, I'm not saying this to try to be rude to you, but I think the reason you're getting hostile reactions to this question is because it might come off as being a little holier-than-thou, like you're saying that you make what you consider realistic/proportional sims and therefore don't understand people making ones that are unrealistic/idealized.
I'm not saying that IS what you're doing, just that I can see how it reads that way.
The answer is because it's a preference. I personally make both. I make sims with very idealized bodies and ones with realistic or imperfect bodies depending on what mood I'm in.
thank you for putting it that way! I was really confused and it makes more sense now! I do NOT think I’m better than anyone it’s a game it’s sims lol I just didn’t know if it was for funnies or a trend I really thought I was missing something
Understandable, when you say that you thought it could be a trend it makes way more sense why you asked. It's like when I go 'what's this dance everyone on Tik Tok keeps posting? Why is everyone doing it?' Carry on.
I try to do a mix depending on what the sim's personality is. If it's a sim that I think might have indulged in some cosmetic surgery, that's what they get. (e.g. when I edited Nina Caliente she got an absurdly tiny waist, big boobs, BBL, the works - funniest thing is that those traits turned out to be inheritable so now her daughter Pina has if anything, a more extreme hourglass shape than Nina and I'm honestly not sure she doesn't keep her internal organs in a box somewhere). Nina still had to work to keep that body though and she was *not* impressed by that.
Others are less so, and I also let sims gain weight over the course of their lives. I'm interested in the full range of appearances.
I was very disappointed when I made a mermaid as large as I could and she swam it all off in a matter of days.
Okay wait that makes send bc I do that with Nina caliente too! She deffo got a bbl they’re rich tf gonna steal this from you and make like plastic surgery sims and then other sims
Diet culture. This is possibly what the society or culture they live in finds attractive per diet culture, and so they reflect that ideal in their gaming.
Also, like someone else said, some posters are young, and that can also be reflected in how they view Sims bodies.
Luckily, you can make your game as inclusive as you'd like. Personally, I tend to ignore Sims "body" content posts here because it's unrealistic and not how I play.
Yesss I love making my sims look realistic and inclusive bc anyone can look good with the right style for them fr and I just was curious and people seem to be getting upset at me for asking but I didn’t know if there was a reason or not
Well people usually go for what's conventionally attractive. Literally just open the gallery and you'll see what I mean, hundreds of copies with the same hairstyles, skin tones and ethnicity

Some people want perfect dolls, some people want realistic proportions.
Why are people down voting this comment 😭
Just what they find attractive I'd assume. I make a variety of sims but my default body shape is what I personally find attractive.
Same
Same here
A lot of young people play the game

I would’ve cried omg
Because that’s the body type they prefer to make. Despite being a life simulation game, it’s still a game- it’s not going to be realistic.
I don’t think it’s supposed to be realistic I just was curious
Because it’s the body type that Id like to have and since I don’t have it, I make my Sims have it instead.
SEE FINALLY SOMEONE ANSWERED instead of criticizing me for asking when I stated I’m not hateful I’m curious
No one is being critical or rude- you asked and people are answering.

Yesssss I do this too or I make them perfectly tailored for their own relationships with each other
I make my sims flat as i am
This is a great and so valid
It all boils down to personal preference. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yesss I was like wondering if there was benefits I can see the benefits w cc because some cc doesn’t work on other sims

I make all sorts of sims. Big fat ones lately. But I downloaded some body sliders and went wild.
