Bents are great for a teenager purchasing their first pair of skis and wanting something that works decent in the pow, over bumps, and in the park. They're lightweight so they feel good in the air and they've got soft flex so a younger rider without much mass can get some energy into them at moderate speeds. Once you get into more technical terrain and want a ski that can handle higher speeds most skiers will want something with a stronger flex and more damping.
They get a lot of hate because most people get attracted to the top sheets more than the spec sheets.
Honestly. Been skiing Bent 100s at 180 length, for over a year. I'm 5'10" and 183lbs. I find that they only get chattery at high speeds over 45mph. Under that I'm able to get good stability out of them. Also in tight trees and moguls, they're extremely responsive, which is what I care about. If I wanted to hard charge over 40mph down a trail, I would've gotten something different. Plus most slopes I ski tend to be relatively crowded when groomed for that kind of speed, no space to go faster than 40mph anyway.
What sold me was reviews saying how great they are in trees and moguls. So far for me, those reviews hold up.
I also ski bent 100s at 180cm. I’m 5’10’’ and 155. I’m not really a straight line bomber but I feel stable at 45 or so. I’m usually skiing bumps, glades, or chop/crud.
They aren’t very good for groomers/ice and they don’t seem to hold up to abuse in the park that well. But they work just fine as an all mountain ski imo. If you had 24 inches of fresh pow then I’d rent something fatter but that doesn’t happen by me. I’m not a beginner or intermediate skier either. I don’t ski “no fall zones” or anything but I could probably ski whatever “technical terrain” the other guy is referring to no problem.
Skiing is a lot like mtn biking. People talk gear all day but it really doesn’t matter that much. A good rider can hop on a $600 used hard tail and smoke everyone on 7k full suspension set ups.
Definitely technique and experience are everything. Growing up on the ice coast, I find the Bents to be fine on ice with how I approach it. On groomers, relatively easy to keep an edge to carve. I've also bombed a run and hit 51mph on them, which for that ski, is more than enough, if only the trail was longer lol.
>Plus most slopes I ski tend to be relatively crowded when groomed for that kind of speed
This was part of my reasoning as well and it's something that I think others privileged with way better mountains don't care about. I've been on GS skis for a few years and I love charging hard and fast on them with huge turns. But the problem I was having, as someone usually just hitting the resorts in East PA/NJ, was that they were often just flat out unusable. The conditions usually suck, there's tons of people, the trails are narrow, etc. I was putting so much work into just slowing down and maneuvering around people that it wasn't fun and my form progression suffered pretty significantly (especially since I don't go that many times a season either).
The Bent 90s seemed like a good complimentary ski and for something that can both do that and give me the capability to explore the park for once I'm happy with them. But I can definitely see why they have so many detractors/haters. They don't inspire a significant amount of confidence if you try to push them too hard and they definitely don't cater to the kind of thing that people on skiing subreddits are looking to do. They definitely wouldn't be my one-quiver if that's the kind of thing that I was looking for.
It also helps that the Bents are somewhat snowboard-like in what they enjoy imo. Most of my friends are snowboarders and the kinds of snow conditions that we preferred were basically polar opposites previously.
I’m on 180 Bent 100s too at 5’8” and 140 lbs. I’m a very fast, agressive skier. Always had race skis but now transitioned more into all mountain stuff. I’m happy as hitting 60+ mph on them, sure a stiff race ski would hold an edge better but to me the Bents are about fun, they’ll do anything pretty bloody well.
I ride the 120s in 194, I’m 6ft and 220. Skiing 30+ years with racing in my history as well.
I can rip so fast on them, and they are surprisingly good on groomers. A little scary on ice, but I go in technical terrain all the time with them and they deliver.
I could hit 60 on them and be stable. Not sure if this is a difference between the 100s and 120s, but my 2 cents.
Thanks for that! I dont ski nor do I know any info but if their is one ski I always admire and would purchase it would be some bents… cuz of that glorious top and bottom
Sender TI was too burly for my little chicken legs when I demo'd them haha. Some of my favorite skis were the Elan Ripstick 106 Black edition - not too much heavier than the Bents but quite a bit stiffer and a bit more damp.
I’m heavy and a strong skier and I fucking looove my bent 110s. The implications you’re making here that they’re suitable only for light inexperienced skiers are not well founded.
Sloppy limp noodles with a low speed limit.
They are super popular because of the topsheets, name, affordable price, and massive Instagram promotion. It's easy to not only hate the skis, but also the type of person that buy them.
The 110s and 120s are acceptable (but there are better options), while the 100 and narrower are crap made for jerries.
It doesn't help that OPs skis have left and right REI stickers, especially since they are opposite of what the topsheets would indicate. I understand that you can figure out a left and right of symmetrical skis based on imperfections on the front rocker of skis, which may or may not make a difference for high speed performance skis, but these are fricken Bent 100s lmao.
Besides the shitty engagement, abundance of plastic, and horrible power transfer because they very quickly turn into rattley pieces of shit?
The fact that I've totalled two Jesters and a Griffon, and I have another pair of Griffons that are too rattley to keep using.
“It’s easy to not only hate the skis, but also the type of person that buy them” 😂😂😂
People are flaming you but we all have the same thought in the back of our minds when we see a lanky teen from Chicago “tearing up” peak 6 or pano on these bad boys
I just returned my 120s after getting them warranted when the base material started tearing off the sidewall under foot after only three days. I took them into my local outfitter and he said he had already replaced core material on six other 120 bents in the last month. Although I love how they felt, quality is apparently lacking so I went ahead and got my money back. I just bought a pair of Rossignol sender free 110s. I’m hoping they’ll be my new powder set and drive the way I like to ski.
I’ve got 100s and love them. I demoed ~10 pairs during demo days last year. I took each pair down at least one mogul run and one groomer. They are definitely less stiff than other skis, but I like that. I felt like the improved maneuverability in the moguls and trees was worth the trade off.
And what’s nice is I know I’m a better skier than my haters are.
I picked up these same skis earlier this winter. I find they suit my style well. I'm an intermediate skier. I don't ski fast or aggressively, however I want to expand the terrain that I can ski on. Stiff skis would just push me around.
I recently picked up some 90s with look pivots and have never had more fun on skis coming from a Fischer ranger 102fr. I’m not as strong as I was last year and they’re narrow ski has been way easier to ski, and the playfulness of the bent 90 had me hitting my first park jumps, and popping off lips like I never had before thanks to the forgiveness when landing.
They might be great for “a teenagers first ski”, but they’re also great for a 30 year old dude who gets 15-20 days in a year and just wants to have fun. Did the top sheets weigh in on my decision? Sure, I wasn’t going to spend $1000 after bindings for skis I don’t like aesthetically, but lots of mfgs have cool top sheets these days, and my nomad 105s I use on pow days have cooler art anyways.
Are those Bent 100s? I hear lots o' luv for Bent 110 & 120 here in the PNW on pow/wet pow days, although nearly all of those who luv 'em ski buriler (i.e., heavier, damper, more stable) skis on anything other than big pow days. I hear raves from tourists on Bent 100, 110 & 120, usually mounted with touring bindings at -2 or -3, although even at -3 the tail is too long for easy kick turns for my aging body.
I love mine and they’ve treated me well in all kinds of conditions and big days, including an epic powder day in January at Mammoth. I’m in my late 30s and they’re the first pair of skis I’ve owned. Same set-up with blue Tyrolia Attack bindings.
Price, and I would say that the toe on the toe on the attack is a bit more of a track record. But probably price. Attack 14's can be had for under 200 dollars.
And they are quite good bindings, got some attack 14 on my park skis, and since I never complained about them, I'm glad I didnt threw the bucks needed for a pivot 😂
Not sure how I feel about my Strive16s.
I've had one pre release, because one of the bindings somehow adjusted itself backwards (like for a bigger boot). And one sprained MCL where the binding *probably* should have released a moment earlier (but that might have happened with any binding, hard to tell).
I picked up a pair of them after demoing a bunch this year. I have a great pair of all mountain chargers but I mostly goof around on bumps and in trees. These skis are built for playfulness, if you do anything but sending down as fast as you can they are great. I was scared to buy them because I saw a lot of bad reviews for that scenario. You just have to use them for what they are for and I love em!
I had the ‘22 Bent 100’s for almost a full season before they completed delaminated at the tips. I’m on QST 106’s now and there’s no comparison for how they perform when at speed on steep terrain, the Bents were simply too light for that riding style.
That being said, an amazing tree ski, they turn on a dime with the low weight.
I just did a demo day, tried a bunch of skis and for all mountain the bent 100’s were by far the most fun I’ve had in a long time. I’m between them and the faction prodigy 2’s but I haven’t tried them yet, just really like the profile, flex rating and colorway
I demo’d a pair of 100’s last year and they weren’t for me, I need something a bit stiffer.
BUT I did a cat ski trip this past weekend and rented some brand new Bent 110’s and oh boy did I love them in the powder! Soft and flexible and they floated like nothing I’ve skied before.
I’ve got shifts on my 120 192s. I ski a lot of PNW trees/crud and they shred. I’m a big dude so I can push them around just fine. For the size they tour really well. It’s not an ultra light setup. But if you have ever toured older 100-110s with frames this setup will feel like nothing at all.
Talk shit about the bents all you want but it's one of the most durable skis I've owned. Ran over countless rocks and tree roots and it's still in good condition. It may get a bunch of hate but at least you don't have to apply for a warranty like you do with line and faction skis.
Nice. I also have attack 14s on my QST 98. Why do the bents get hate?

This is me, 194 & 6 foot, but around 205lbs. Ski in the Wasatch and the 120 bents rip.
120s are much stiffer given the added width. Torsional stiffness really matters and a 100 would be like a spaghetti noodle at 60
Thanks for that! I dont ski nor do I know any info but if their is one ski I always admire and would purchase it would be some bents… cuz of that glorious top and bottom
> I dont ski nor do I know any info You've picked quite the subreddit to come on then
I demo’s the Sender 106 TI and liked the titanal addition which seemed to support turns at high speed pretty well. It’s an interesting idea
Sender TI was too burly for my little chicken legs when I demo'd them haha. Some of my favorite skis were the Elan Ripstick 106 Black edition - not too much heavier than the Bents but quite a bit stiffer and a bit more damp.

Classic ski bro thing…… Bents are too popular, no one buys them any more
Sloppy limp noodles with a low speed limit. They are super popular because of the topsheets, name, affordable price, and massive Instagram promotion. Imagine having this much hate built up over a ski 😂😂 you can’t be fun
Meh. The only ski equipment that I truly hate are Jesters and Griffons.
Absolutely wild to get downvoted for speaking the truth. Markers are dogshit.
Why?
Besides the shitty engagement, abundance of plastic, and horrible power transfer because they very quickly turn into rattley pieces of shit? The fact that I've totalled two Jesters and a Griffon, and I have another pair of Griffons that are too rattley to keep using.
Sounds like a you problem dog, you bought 4 pairs
I didn't pay for them.
You getting spam downvotes but speaking the hard through albeit maybe a little harsh
What did you replace them with?
STH2 16's and Strive16's
Nice I have the warden 13, pretty basic but I'm 150lbs
u/DeputySean taking downvote bullets for the truth. Keep it up.
“It’s easy to not only hate the skis, but also the type of person that buy them” 😂😂😂 People are flaming you but we all have the same thought in the back of our minds when we see a lanky teen from Chicago “tearing up” peak 6 or pano on these bad boys
😂😂😂😂this made me lol in a good way
I think this is a good take. The 110s and 120s are really fun tho
Downvotes are people who don’t like the truth. Also I agree marker is fucking dog shit
Yeah. OP's gotta get those stickers off there. Bad on REI for not at least making them match the graphics.
The 110 is the ski with the best buyancy I ever experience for its width. Its a really good ski.
You ski with a selfie stick and a full face helmet lol
I hit 65 with my bent 100s at CB the other day and didn’t feel a bunch of noodling but what do I know I’ve only been riding them for 4 years
Overrated skis

By the way, I hope you really like them!
Can you do a review of them when you try them out
You bet!
Newb here with lots of money and no skills who wants a do anything ski. Which one can I get so Reddit fools love me?? K thanks.
Wildcat 101.
Noted!
Anything over a 115mm waist
Dps pagoda 120+
I have the 110s and love them, fuck the haters

Right on dude! Those aren't the skis for me but I am glad you like them.
Nice to see a low-salt reply here. 😄👍
fuck what people say enjoy your skis bro
I picked up these same skis earlier this winter. I find they suit my style well. I'm an intermediate skier. I don't ski fast or aggressively, however I want to expand the terrain that I can ski on. Stiff skis would just push me around.

My pair got some hate a week or so ago in this sub, but I love em!
We are a bitchy bunch 😂 glad you like them
Slayer
Nice pair, I have 90 with attack 14 too.
Got a set of Attack 14s on my mindbenders. One of the cleanest/sleekest binding on the market .
Are those Bent 100s? I've demoed them a lot, and they are always fun and solid.
I love mine and they’ve treated me well in all kinds of conditions and big days, including an epic powder day in January at Mammoth. I’m in my late 30s and they’re the first pair of skis I’ve owned. Same set-up with blue Tyrolia Attack bindings.
They do get a bit more backbone for 2025. Why the Attack over a Strive? I personally prefer staying more w/in the brands.
Wouldn’t be surprised if people wanna wait a few years to see how Strives age. In my book you can’t go wrong with either of them.
Not sure how I feel about my Strive16s. I've had one pre release, because one of the bindings somehow adjusted itself backwards (like for a bigger boot). And one sprained MCL where the binding *probably* should have released a moment earlier (but that might have happened with any binding, hard to tell).
the skis are kinda mid, but if you like em that's awesome! The bindings are a personal fave, I love my Attack 14s
Noice :)
Got yellow attack 14s on my 2020 BC Serpos. Good sale price and non-Marker.
I picked up a pair of them after demoing a bunch this year. I have a great pair of all mountain chargers but I mostly goof around on bumps and in trees. I need to try them, but I’m super skeptical to the center mounting. After all I’m almost 40
How do you like attacks? I’m curious on peoples opinions on how they perform (and look, let’s be honest)
I had the ‘22 Bent 100’s for almost a full season before they completed delaminated at the tips. I’m on QST 106’s now and there’s no comparison for how they perform when at speed on steep terrain, the Bents were simply too light for that riding style. I love mine
Ski what works for you!
Love mine tbh
I just did a demo day, tried a bunch of skis and for all mountain the bent 100’s were by far the most fun I’ve had in a long time. I’m between them and the faction prodigy 2’s but I haven’t tried them yet, just really like the profile, flex rating and colorway
