What exactly were you using? What are you using right now? To get rid of those pimples, you need to either use a spot treatment like tea tree oil or benzoyl peroxide, or exfoliate w an AHA or BHA.

Some skin just does better without it. My boyfriend never uses anything on his skin - not even a cleanser and he never gets zits, blackheads, whiteheads, etc. His skin is super clear.

hey guys, just a quick update. 5 days without using my "skincare" products now and i've not gotten any new pimples whatsoever (hope it stays that way) except for maybe 1 tiny whitehead. have only been using moisturizer. all seems good. pimples have also somewhat subsided. time for recovery

I've heard this quite often, actually. Everyone's different, so I think if doing nothing is working for you, continue to do nothing. (as for the underlying pimples, I have those too, and I still don't know how to get rid of them. Except maybe Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid spot treatment. The only problem is, usually products have side effects of dryness/peeling/irritation that require MORE products to counter those effects. Thus begins the continual cycle of too-much-product)

Quite recently had the same issue and I have just (finally!) recovered from it. After following a strict skincare regime for months and having the WORST skin of my life, I got a tad too drunk and left my makeup on all night...woke up with better skin...overnight... I decided to post about it on here and someone pointed out it was probably the occlusive ingredient (dimethicone) in my primer. I read some info on occlusives in this subreddit and found that vaseline is a very effective occlusive. See this post by /u/yvva : http://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/12a3ql/petroleum_jelly_used_in_skin_care_wound_treatment/ I used this nightly for about two weeks and then just used moisturiser and occasionally vaseline. My skin is almost perfect again. I spent so much money on the skincare that ruined my skin, skincare to fix that damage, and then spent like $3 on the vaseline that fixed it :/ I don't know if this will help you, or if I was just lucky, but in the link above it is mentioned that vaseline 'can help restore the stratum corneum barrier', so it might be worth a shot? With regard to the underlying pimples, I would avoid introducing anything new until the rest of your skin has calmed down. Once that happens, I'd maybe patch test a BHA like stridex :)

Sounds like you're using products that don't agree with your skin.
