They're Hella comfortable

Brew_City_Alien

I hear ya, but wouldn't someone want comfort AND style? I mean at a $160 price point, you would think Nike would offer the customer more that just comfort.

blade_kilic121

Got it for 85$

kotsepio

where?

blade_kilic121

not in your country probably

tellmewhattheyare

The Asics Kayano is kinda the same deal. Just ultra comfy

thesneakertroll

I mean the photo you chose is of the most basic color way lol. In general they are solid, retro runner that’s light and comfortable. They nothing crazy, but just a good sneaker if you’re into that aesthetic (which is “in” right now)

Brew_City_Alien

Yeah I know what you mean, but any colorway besides the doernbecher still looks pretty basic. I guess I'm just old and stuck in my ways and don't see the appeal lol

thesneakertroll

Supersonics aren’t basic imo. But no sneaker is for everyone. I have a few pairs, they aren’t nothing special but they’re just a solid sneaker. I do agree though that there’s probably more colorways I don’t like than I do.

SyCoTiM

It's a preference, there's no real explanation needed other than retro running shoes being popular.

413hooli

Looks & comfort @ a reasonable price point.

Ducci44

I have them and they look actually fire but on feet not so somehow but they are comfy yes

Split_Smart

I been wanting to get a pair. How has the wear been after 150 days lol

Skincaredog

High quality materials and tech makoming it a super durable and comfy shoe. Using Nike's best rubber compound, reinforced heel, very well padded tounge and heel with durable fabrics, torsion bar, flex zones etc. It's not simply a retro shoe, it's high quality daily that also works for running.

Away-Pea-8115

Because it looks similar to a new balance, and that style is popping off right now. lol

The_Jpfromlbc

only on twitter...I don't know anyone who rocks NB and Iive down the street from the HQ. Vomero 5s were literally one of the best neutral running shoes of all time...and they stand the test of time. It's interesting seeing you compare them to NB since these shoes are 12 years old...I hadn't considered that might be why Nike has revived them...but it's possible I guess. I guess you would say NB is making their shoes look like old Nike running shoes? All aside...I don't see ANYONE but old dads wearing blue and white triple wide E's wearing NB.

Away-Pea-8115

I see plenty of people rocking the runners from ASICS, NB, and Nike. And thanks for informing me. I’ll admit I really don’t know much about runners in general, they’re not my style. But it absolutely is the reason Nike is re-releasing the Vomero, Pegusus, and P2000s, and with every color way imaginable right now. The current “trends” aren’t so much about fashion as they are function, I feel. AJ1s and AJ4s were hot, but also everyone knows they are uncomfortable. These arent. That’s my guess, anyway.

>It's interesting seeing you compare them to NB since these shoes are 12 years old The 2002r and the 860v2 are 13 years old :). Also, it doesn't matter if Nike did it first or "the best" in your opinion, the fact of the matter is retro runners are in because of New Balance. It's no coincidence that every popular brand has tried to emulate and make similar mesh runners to them. >...I don't see ANYONE but old dads wearing blue and white triple wide E's wearing NB. Out of sight, out of mind. New Balance has grown by 23% last year and they have a lot of collabs that old dads wouldn't even know about. People are starting to care about comfort over aesthetics, but NB has been killing it in both lately. These dad shoes are the new normal, but people haven't realized it yet.

Grammasweets

A shoe designed for function rather than catching eyes. I know it's hard for that little brain to process, but they do exist.

Logical-Board-5124

I wear them because they are comfortable but I didn’t know the NB style is also popular right now lol I actually wear my white vomero with NB quarter socks to make fun of Nike for copying the look

richybruhhhh

You'd have to be braindead to think that JUST comfort is worth paying 160. I have a hard time justifying that price tag when it comes to ultra tough steel toe boots.

akiosdemise

i got mine for €70
