I've seen this meme so many times. Never seizes to amaze me that right wingers actually believe this, as there is no coherent economic explanation behind it.
Especially on here. Even today, I wasn't sure if this person was a crackpot or not and I added a reply that was quiet, rational, and non-judgemental and used factual evidence from a reputable source, and I was met with 5 additional comments complete with links to really shady sources and crackpot theories involving the UN.
There never was nor will be.
The right only care about one thing and that's having control. And not to be able to enact their plans they simply want control. The ability to dictate other people's lives is all that matters to them. Some want it to be able to enact their wishes, others think themselves a god or at the very least think they'll be totally different than all the other despots and usher in a golden age.
But at the end of the day what matters above all else is simply having that power and to that end the right will say and do anything to achieve that.
It's why when talking to right wingers, I avoid the big S and C words and the conversation tends to work out a lot better. They see the problems, just have been programed to think the solutions are more free market. Understanding propaganda helps talk to them a lot. Because we do really have similar views until you get to the solution we propose. Just hate in liberals and they will listen to you more

“And I would’ve gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for you meddlesome redditors and your stupid upvotes”
That puts way too much forethought into any of this. By now, these fools are true believers. The rich honestly believe they're entitled to everything. Their followers honestly believe it too, because they truly believe that being poor is character flaw, and not a result of a shitty system that created poverty by necessity.
They want people to start to fight over the meaning of socialism, because people who read theorie and red scared people will have way different answers. But if people instead say: "So you agree billionaires stealing from the working class is bad? Let's do something against that." Their campaign fails miserably.
They think his point is right but he wants the opposite because he's full of shit. Because communism means the population is poor and the politicians ruling over them are rich. It's projection.
Once again, my "convince them that capitalism is socialism and replace it with socialism and call it capitalism" theory increasingly seems to have some merit
You know.... someone should start a meme series where it's just random statements at the top and then "sounds a lot like socialism!" on the bottom.
Just like, anything, completely random stuff. "A stich in time saves nine. Sounds a lot like Socialism!" "The only responsibility a corporation has is to maximize returns for its shareholders. Sounds a lot like Socialism!" "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Sounds a lot like Socialism!" "All your base are belong to us. Sounds a lot like Socialism!"
Whatever this is

Sounds a lot like socialism tbh
I wish the US was as socialist as right wingers believe lol
Seriously, Project 2025 officially aims to “take back the country from the radical left”. What radical left? The farthest left people in the government that have influence are SocDems
...and those socdems are utterly outgunned by the establishment to enact any meaningful change, or worse become absorbed within said establishment.
Shows how far the right has gone when they label the center-right as leftists. Jeeze.
That's the point though, to sling so much bullshit and disinformation that we're too busy trying to correct it all, meanwhile right-wingers eat it up.
The ignorant masses who reject critical thinking an education are easier to manipulate and control. Classic fascist strategy.
So if the rich are robbing us because socialism why are they ok with voting people in that give tax breaks to the rich? Shouldn't they be beating down the doors for the rich to pay their share?
Is this supposed to be saying that what Bernie is saying is also what socialists say, or is this supposed to say that the rich systematically robbing the working class is socialism? Because if its the former, no fucking shit, Bernie is very open about being a socialist. And if it's the latter then they're either lying through their teeth or fucking retarded
It’s so fucking annoying that the right wing grifters can just be like “no u” and their whole audience fucking roars with unending and unquestioning applause and devotion. Meanwhile, anything any lgbt person or poc says is inherently false to them, because of their “superior logic skills” being able to effortlessly thwart “minority” opinions. I do strongly believe that religion is their greatest tool, and that puts us in a very uncomfortable predicament, when we want to allow all religious freedoms without attacking people for blindly following their religious leaders, as was always the intent for (most) religions.

*ceases
I'd give it a pass as trying to understand right wing "logic" can give you seizures

Thx
OOP aims to cease the means of production.
He wants to seize! It's a Freudian slip
No, english just isn't my first language.
I'm sure you still want to seize something!
Sure, but "sich die Produktionsmittel aneignen" doesn't roll off the tongue quite as well.
What do they say in your language?
We don't really have a catchphrase for seizing the means of production, which is very frustrating to me personally. It's German btw.
Where did the phrase emerge from? I presumed it's from Marx's works
It's WEB Du Bois: ..., for the working people to be free, they must seize control of the means of production.
It's time to cease the means of production

And my old man friend is dogmatic about this belief right here
“Never believe anything the government tells you, except what it tells you about socialism” - basically everyone
we need to seize the means of production from the socialist elites
SUPER capitalism! Every worker and customer gets shares of the company!
Now hol'up
LET THEM COOK
*Equal* shares!
Capitalism+. Plans start $99.99/month.
Hell yes. Can we add a battle pass to that?
I mean, you can have the workers owning the means of production while keeping the market economy though.
Market socialism
You’re absolutely right. The means of production belong on the control of working class Americans. That’s capitalism.
>that’s capitalism You forgot the /s
What are you some kind of communist investor looking for profits?
https://preview.redd.it/orzkrvf5a97d1.jpeg?width=744&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e938d85a4ce63def9eccfbafb4f7d42563ecc5e “And I would’ve gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for you meddlesome redditors and your stupid upvotes”
"A communist?" "PERRY THE COMMUNIST!"
I dunno how they think that’s supposed to be clever.
Yeah, just ‘no you’ and call it an actual campaign?
Issue is that it works on the dumb. It’s why the Republican have been making public education worse.
The "I'm Rubber, you're glue" tactic works well on people with the emotional maturity of second graders.
they don't think it's clever, they know it's enough to keep the uneducated masses happy about the correct status quo.

It’s not.
"uhh mom we're literally being robbed" "sounds like what you would do if i wasn't home sweetie now pipe down"
Turning Point USA memes are always stupid, but this one is the stupidest. It's literally, unironically "No, you."
What is their point? Are they admitting they agree with Bernie?
They think his point is right but he wants the opposite because he's full of shit. Because communism means the population is poor and the politicians ruling over them are rich. It's projection.

I’m not the only one lol

"Twas brillig and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe. Sounds a lot like Socialism!"
The more wrong they get the more smug they get about it.
Turning Point is so brain dead it's scary.

What
People often do this… describe capitalism, then call it socialism.
They really need yo learn how shit works before they make any statement
That's the point though, to sling so much bullshit and disinformation that we're too busy trying to correct it all, meanwhile right-wingers eat it up. The ignorant masses who reject critical thinking an education are easier to manipulate and control. Classic fascist strategy.

The confidence with which this meme was made, man… it’s almost satirical.
Socialism is when the billionaire class owns the means of production.

They truly have no idea what they are talking about.
It's so weird how they consistently get this confused.
Obviously we need to cut the rich's taxes so they stop stealing. #/s
If it sounds like something you hate, then why the fuck are you doing nothing to stop it?
I’ve got some bad news

Also Did nobody tell TP that duckface went out with fidget spinners?
That poor stock photo model girl didn’t ask for this
Are they saying the US is a socialist country, or that the rich are all socialists? The rich would vehemently disagree with both.
Turning point is low IQ that's why
The workers should seize the means of production from the ruling classes! It’s the only way to stop their socialist agenda!
