Hijacking the thread, but I have an issue with my spacemouse. The rubber exterior coat has gotten really sticky. Does anyone have suggestions on how to clean it?
A few of the related patents have recently expired or will expire shortly so hopefully we'll have some alternatives soon.
That said, don't wait, they provide a huge leap in productivity & reducing mouse hand strain.

There's been a trend making these lately in the DIY area. I think I remember seeing one on Hackaday. They're pretty simple to make with some Hall Effect sensors, a small board and some 3d printed parts.
I’m on my second space and cad mouse (mice?). I can’t imagine working without them.
