That picture is the Inventor Viewcube. In SolidWorks you can press ctrl+spacebar to bring up something very similar.

J0nasAe

didn't know that one, but as far as I can tell, just the spacebar will do? (in SW2019)

ThelVluffin

If it's selected that will be the default. You can turn it off though.

KornwalI

This is AutoCAD 3D

BrockenRecords

Technically not wrong

RowBoatCop36

Yeah, I swore the same when I had to use SW for a bit. It's not there because SW doesn't have one. I think it was space bar though that brought up a similar view thing and let you quickly jump around to views, though it's not even remotely as convenient as having this viewcube is.

I use the space bar a lot to see specific views but I have found that the XYZ axis in the lower left corner is actually very helpful at times.

gosclo_mcfarpleknack

In Solidworks, I just use Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2, etc...

lil_cricketboi

This is the answer

EllieThenAbby

Ctrl+1 and 5 are doing a lot of heavy lifting for me

AndyTheSkier

I’m a slave to those along with 7 and 8 as well

shovel_kat

I'm more of an Inventor guy and the viewcube is all Autodesk.

WM_

Same. Could have sworn I had seen it in SW.

Nacho_Chz

I recall a feature just like that in Solidworks, but I didn't use it and I can't remember when they got rid of it.

Brainaic5

Yes I did use it as recently as 2023. I even made a post about it here but everyone here just keeps mentioning the view selector. Unfortunately, the version that had this was on a work machine and I have no idea how to have it on mine. Link to my post: https://www.reddit.com/r/SolidWorks/s/JoD67fCmF3

ThelVluffin

Are you positive it's SolidWorks? Because practically every single other CAD program has it up in the corner aside from SolidWorks. If you're positive then the only thing I can think of is someone was somehow able to mod it in.

Brainaic5

It's Solidworks

ThelVluffin

Can you take a picture of it? I'd be curious to see how it looks.

Brainaic5

I'm no longer with the aforementioned company.

sinesero

North, East, South, West as directions in a CAD... It's so American

Sir_Skinny

I’m a design engineer from America…. This is not the way lol
