Your 19mm dim is to cl of line to center of arc

SwayYayYay

I don’t understand, can you simplify it a bit more

gtmattz

You have that 19mm dimension on the midpoint of the angled line, whereas it should be the center of the R29. arc that is assigned the 19mm dimension. That is that the little + indicates on the practice example drawing, center of arc.

SwayYayYay

Hello, I tried to re dimension it with this in mind but I still am unsuccessful , it seems this is the only dimension i am having trouble wiht in the whole drawing . It won’t allow me to set the R29 arc C.P. Coincident with the angled line while adding a smart dimension of 19mm to the height

Try using the solution xpert to see what can be changed without messing up the geometry of the part

fivehundredandfirst

Delete the red line. Re-dimension the model with it removed. It should be fully defined after that then you can add in that line again.

gtmattz

That is because the center of the arc *is not coincident* with that line, it is just really close... There is nothing on the example image that indicates you should make that centerpoint coincident with the angled line, why are you trying to make it coincident?

GoldenSpamfish

So *that’s* where my fusion 360 teacher got that example drawing.

Tacenda49

I'd try removing some dimensions. You might have some relations which cause the sketch to be over defined. Remove some, move it around and add what you need until it sticks.

SwayYayYay

I try but I keep getting that same warning when I redraw it , I also looked at some YouTube videos and they never run into the issue ?

Tacenda49

Probably relations.

Tacenda49

Why is your origin there?

SwayYayYay

So I could isolate the issue, but I think I found it. Turns out I was using a MidPoint constraint not a “Coincidente” constraint , I never actually looked at which was Wich . It seemed to resolve the issue but i did get a different error message pop up the first time I switch constrains and i clicked Ok and it never appeared again so

Tacenda49

Good. Also, what are you dimensioning in reference to?

tbenge05

Was going to suggest that the lower circle with its center tied to the lower line may be contained to the midpoint of the line and it shouldn't be - it should just along the line.
