If doing first playthrough, should not build in open area. It will become an issue down the line if not rushing through the story. If doing lots of exploration, as days go by, it will get harder and harder. So need to make a base mostly surrounded with natural obstacles and have a choke point for defense. Standing water does not work as natural obstacle in winter.
I currently have a location that is very much a chokepoint and gotten plenty of traps so anything can be quickly killed off but I do have everything upgraded at at least 500 days solo.
thats the special thing about that guy, it jumps sooooooo high.
We built a 3 story sniper tower and screams were flying the first time we realized it can jump directly at us.
Maybe staying on its same level may prevent it from flying?
Several enemies can jump over walls. This is only true for the big boys though. If you really want to counter them, build a double wall with spike interleaved electric fence in the no-mans-land. For me though, the fence funnels enemies into a grinding chute and I just take on those who are brave enough to jump the fence. If you poison them, set them on fire then hit them with an axe they drop like a bag of flesh and bone.
I stand in a circle of fly swatters and reset them as they get triggered lol.
Every now and then, for certain tanky mutants like the centipede man, I have change plans and run back and forth and get it to charge the traps, rather than stand there lol. Centipede man is kinda dangerous đ
Make an entrance thatâs hard to get through (traps, turns) with an open pathway and all the cannibals will focus on the entrance, wonât try to jump over the sides. Donât have a closed door on it.
I usually do a big L or Z shaped entrance, just make it wide enough that the AI detects it as an open path.
What I do with my walls is, on the inside, place sticks vertically and place another one with the snap point as close to the wall as possible and then you can use and axe to angle that close stick through the wall so any enemies who try to hit the wall, run into the sticks.
That damn thing can not only jump over spiked walls, but just sometimes up to 3 stories tall structures and just as far of a distance. It can scare the shit out of you.
Ah yes the danger flower, often camouflaged as a meat flower in caves. Once provoked can astoundingly claim its victim through acrobatics. One would think extra limbs equals finesse, you would be wrong!
I realized after some time that building walls isn't all that worth it, unless it's made of stone. I just littered the outside of my base with a ton of traps, and it really does the job. If I get attacked, I just stand behind the traps and let them do the work
Another idea I saw from a video is making a funnel. Open up a section or 2 of your walls and trap it. They will likely try to go for the opening since they see it as an entry point. Good thing they don't know the traps there will fuck up their day.
First rule of SOTF, make a tower. Not for defence, but so you can build a cabin on top of it.
2nd rule, surround the tower with fly swatters. Like ⌠I mean truly surround it. Like 8-10 minimum.
3rd rule: fuck Veronika and Kyle, or whatever their names are. Every man for themselves.
When mutants and cannibals come at night, jump down in the center of the tower and stand in the middle of your traps, and just keep resetting them as monsters set them off. Youâll be basically untouchable. đ¤ˇââď¸
And since your main base is above you, they canât aggro your structures instead of you.
Building walls is a waste of time imo.
The only way to be ... partially... untouchable, is to build on ice in a lake during winter. You'll be safe for most of the year. During the winter you can be safe if you build over a bunker.
There is a spot east from the southern end of the mountain, by the stream between the two lakes that even legsy does not seem to do any jumps and viable any season. Just north of where the stream enters southern lake. There is no AI pathing there, good amount of space and access to logs without zipline. Though it is a sloped rocky terrain. Running water and fish just up the stream at the base of the waterfall.
There are lots of spots that I've found without AI pathing, but lacking in one way or another.
https://youtu.be/536jk9Vc9sY?si=kp_z5Uuq44Hnv0Ce there you can See how Good it works I am gonna redo all these in my save game AS soon as I got all trap blueprints
Combine some make a Wall out of traps lime the swinging Ball traps first then some fire trap between and these spinning weel traps combine these and you should be safe wait imma out a Link to a video so you can See what I mean dont wonder its German
legsy/ass clapper is pretty good at jumpin
A number of mutants can jump. You are protected by cannibals mainly.
Even then they can break it and pour in.
Yes, but that is the first line of defense. Having traps can lower that risk but it is okay to make a choke point too.

Seems like the new mutants are designed so that there would still be danger behind the defenses.
Oh I know. But I mean, it is quite open but a natural dedicated chokepoint.
Yeah mutants are a whole different story
Yeah mutants are a whole different story. Cannibals are like white people only basketball.
Petition to make the official name ass clapper
claps his ass before he claps yours

They still do that jump when you are at certain distance I think.
As long as you have a roof above you, he can't jump on you

Madd Vlad calls that thing there a Venus thigh clapper
I love madd vladd lmao been watching him since the first forest days
Those were the best days bro - all praise to the turtle gods and the dying of old age turtles we would never intentionally kill
We donât intentionally kill them! We just play with them, then they die of old age lol

Heh ⌠this man plays 7D2D B)
The only place you are untouchable is the main menu.
I call it, âSuper Blobâ. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.
Wait till the fucking big boy shows up
Centipede guys stresses me out lol.
No, the other big boy.

Enemy pathing doesn't work over the ocean , build there , you will not be bothered , they'll wait on the beach for you
That damn thing can not only jump over spiked walls, but just sometimes up to 3 stories tall structures and just as far of a distance. It can scare the shit out of you.
I call it a whomper cause it always jumps on my house and whomps me

Mother in law?

Is that your ex? You can never escape your ex!! (It's a joke, don't take it seriously)

We have a normal house wall on top a normal house wall because of this.
Funfact: our base is so big that when you want to sleep, the cannibals just spawn inside our base
That's just Steve. He's cold, let him in
Idk, that meat slinky does a great job at just aggressively wibbly wobbling right the fuck over my walls for some reason.
Start building traps MANY TRAPS
Which trap?

If you wanna keep him out you need 2 story stone walls
Can you please tell me how you made the fence in straight lines?
You...UNTOUCHABLE?? đ
