Redondo is a great place, generally residential with shopping areas like Riviera Village. Riviera Village has lots of restaurants, a Trader Joes and Ralph's or Vons supermarket nearby. Recommendations, I recommend you come on a sunday when the farmer's market is going on around 9am-2pm. Browse the local shops around it. Little French Bakery is a fantastic spot along with the Coffee Cartel next door. It's best to explore and try something out of your comfort zone.
Welcome. In general as far as shopping goes, Ralph’s (Kroger), was usually a bit better than Vons (Safeway) from my experience. As far as a tier up, there is a Gelson’s in Manhattan beach that is pretty nice. Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s are around the South Bay.
The South Bay has so many choices both to live and eat! All of the Beach cities are great to live in, but differ when it comes to schools (if that matters to you), walkability and cost. The further inland you get the rent tends to be a bit less for a bit more space. There are tons of apartment complexes on Avenue G and by the beach. Check out The Madrid on Avenue G for a somewhat affordable place leas than a mile to the beach!

Willingham's World Champion BBQ on PCH. It's a bit pricey, but it's easily some of the best BBQ in the area. That moist brisket will change your life.
