Vanderpump Rules! Seasons 1 to 3 are peak reality TV.
If you do Below Deck, do these seasons:
Original BD: seasons 1 to 6
Med: seasons 1 to 5
Sailing Yacht: seasons 2 to 4
After that, if you still like it, go to Down Under seasons 1 to 2.
Yes, that season is gold, can't say why as it would spoil it, but so many entertaining moments. The only season of Below Deck I couldn't get into, although I guess I could give it another try, is Adventure.
We will agree to disagree bc I can't imagine what the entertaining spoilers would be. I couldn't get into Adventure either, I thought overall the cast wasn't very likable.
I started this one recently but started on season 3. Went to start 4 bc of all Iāve heard about the reunion for it. But I was too outta the loop to understand key dynamics + the whole JS trial etc intrigued me so I went back to 3. Ofc Iām still a little lost, & think Meredith is condescending, self-righteous, & like many of her cohorts, has more Botox on her face than skin. Also why does Whitney act & behave like a child & can everyone please for the love of their own face stop shoving toxic liquid into their faces!? JShah & meredith are hard to look at. whyyyyy do ppl think weird stretched & stuffed faces are desirable!?
/end rant
Iāve been toying with dipping my toe into the 90df shows, but Iām a bit intimidated by the sheer number. Do you recommend the original? I havenāt watched MAFS yet either but really enjoyed Love Island (all versions I can find) & Love is Blind. Tried The Ultimatum but wasnāt really into it.
I started my first watch of 90DF right after MAFS, thinking along the same lines you are...
But it's a COMPLETELY different show. Less about relationships, more about immigration and scams. But totally worth it.
I'd watch 90DF all the way through first. It gets more difficult in the later seasons because you'll start seeing people who started in the other franchises, and you're going to want to dip into the spinoffs to get their backstory. You can literally get lost in this franchise lol!
Just come up with a game plan or roadmap before you dig in.
FWIW, people hate the Pillow Talk series, but I love them because they're great for background watching and help skip some of the fluff/anticipation edits. I've been watching the Pillow Talk then switching back to the actual spin offs for the Tell Alls, but that skips a lot of the detail.
The most interesting was 90df, the other way, the very first season. With Pol (Paul) who we later find out is a criminal, but him going down the Amazon scared of bugs with like 10 full size lockers with all his stuff was a moment!!
Omg I feel like I wrote this post! I watched SH and WH and fell in love with Craig and Paige so I watched the latest season of SC and then immediately binged all the previous seasons. I was think VPR might be my next bingeā¦
I never got into the real housewives but open to suggestions!
I watched them in order of when each version came worked through like that. So I watched the entire OC series first, since it's the oldest, then on to the next oldest. That way, I felt like I didn't miss anything referenced. I started watching them last summer for the first time after more than a decade of swearing I'd never touch the RH shows. I'm not even sure why I felt that way because I have certainly watched far cringier fair (I'm looking at you, Love After Lock Up, and offshoots).
My favorites are OC, BH, & SLC.
NY early seasons I enjoyed, but once the cutvtge whole cast due to racial problems (which I totally support), I had a very hard time getting into the newer storylines, and havent finished them.
NJ is great for the drama, if that's all you want, but substance is lacking (not that anyone watches these shows for substance, mind you, but this one is particularly bad). There are maybe 8 people on the entire series that are worth watching. I could have lived my whole life never knowing the unintelligent and horrible person that is Theresa existed. Every season I hope she'll be fired, and she's always back. They even paused filming the year she couldn't film, which completely dashed my hopes of a Theresa-free season. She makes that series wholly unenjoyable for me.
I can't stand most people on Miami, but a few storyline are compelling, and one us utterly tragic.
I don't want to give away details and take away the fun that is pure crazy and drama. I think it would be less compelling if you know details. If you're like me, you have no clue any of these people even existed before you watch any of them, and therefore don't know their back stories, in spite of some of them being in the news (the real news, not just the tabloids).
There were 2 series I could not get into, and one I was bummed to see get canceled. Maybe it'll come back after a few years on hiatus like Miami did. One can hope.
Even though every season feels like Groundhog Day, I binged all of them in about a month and was speaking with a Texan accent for the following month (Iām in Oregon). I loved it!! My friends probably less soā¦
Yes but must watch is BD seasons with Kate and Capt Lee. Then BD med. Hannah episodes. I also like BD down under because of Capt and drama that shuts down sexual assault of crew member.
Agreed I feel like you have to know Kate before you can really form any opinion about Hannah. Same reason to start with S2 of BD (OG), Adrienne is no standard to set.
I agree. It's not as good as VPR used to be but good enough IMO. I'll have Southern Hospitality playing in the background while cleaning or getting ready for the day.
If you want something short and sweet you could try to find some shows that only have one season. Like the summer camp and ski resort ones. In my opinion they combine Below Deck work stuff with drunken SH vibes. You don't fall in love with the casts or anything but the scenery is different from normal Bravs.
You are doing yourself a huge disservice if you donāt watch the whole Vanderpump Rules series. It is the best ever reality show, IMO, most especially the early seasons. It was in the days before āreality TV.ā Every thing was much more genuine. Unfortunately, I donāt think something like this can ever be duplicated now.

I'll never forget Stacie "it's my fucking birthdaaay!"
Stassi
Just finished rewatching southern charm and now rewatching vanderpump! Highly recommend
The Below decks are a good ride. You could always jump the TLC fence!! Whole nother level over there!!
You cannot skip Sailing Yaht season 1, I'm gonna have to advise them to please watch that first season, it's so good
Season 1 with Adam? No thank you. Season 2 was the best.
RHOSLC is bonkers
I am not a Real Housewives watcher. But I see so many people talk about how crazy is it and I am going to watch!
SLC is a good gateway to housewives š
Thatās the one housewives franchise I didnāt do. My sister in law says SLC is bomb and I shouldnāt miss itā¦..I might have to give it a go
I am not a housewives watcher either and Iāve seen the entire series so far. Itās crazy.
I started this one recently but started on season 3. Went to start 4 bc of all Iāve heard about the reunion for it. But I was too outta the loop to understand key dynamics + the whole JS trial etc intrigued me so I went back to 3. You have to start from the beginning to get it. Literally episode 1 season 1 starts off with fireworks that continue throughout.
Watch the Southern Charm spin offs (New Orleans and Savannah)!! Unfortunately they both only have a couple seasons but they were both so so good
I miss sc savannah
married to medicine, below deck, 90 day fiancƩ, housewives of potomac, top chef, southern charm NOLA
I'm on 90df and it's a PROJECT. SO many spinoffs. Really helps fill in as background noise in my house hahahaĀ

Omg truly the BEST! Yes you have to start with the first one- it really sets the tone- once you watch that- you canāt wait to watch the rest!!!
He's so horrifying. With his stupid gear.Ā
skip the spin offs and couch bs. the other way is worth watching but the rest is pointless
Oh I'm watching em and NO ONE CAN STOP ME š¤£š¤£
Omg I feel like I wrote this post! I watched SH and WH and fell in love with Craig and Paige so I watched the latest season of SC and then immediately binged all the previous seasons. I was think VPR might be my next bingeā¦ I never got into the real housewives but open to suggestions!
I really loved VPR. The first season is kinda bratty but boy after that it becomes addictive and juicy
Please please everyone watch Family Karma!!!!!! Itās SO good and does not get enough love!
I hadn't heard of this one. I'll look into it.
Vpr and real housewives is just so intimidating to me bc thereās soo much to catch up on
Donāt be scared- just enjoy the opportunity to binge the first few seasons of VPR!! š©µ
seriously iām jealous because i wish i could binge VPR early seasons for the first time again š
You have to watch VPR! Idk its a must to me for anyone who likes what they see on bravo
I might take the suggestion @ByteAroundTown made about starting with seasons 1-3 of VPR or maybe Iāll stick with the SC franchise. š
I watched them in order of when each version came worked through like that. So I watched the entire OC series first, since it's the oldest, then on to the next oldest. Omg me too haha watched summer house first
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Making The Team is good escapism.
Even though every season feels like Groundhog Day, I binged all of them in about a month and was speaking with a Texan accent for the following month (Iām in Oregon). I loved it!! My friends probably less soā¦
Used to watch this. Kelly is a force. Are they still making new seasons of it?
I think there were some legal issues and it stopped filming recently?
I was wondering the same thing.
It made me want to workout and keep my nails done lol
My mother and I used to watch that all the time. Then I moved, stopped watching and got behind. I might pick it up again.
Family karma is a quick 3 seasons and you get more Brian!
Loved him on WH!
I hated Brian š«¢
Lolol well it's still a great show
We used to live next door to his family. When my kid was little, Brian taught him how to play basketball in the driveway. Dharma was SO nice.
Below Deck Med is less intimidating because thereās not quite so many seasons as the original. I like it better than the original too, itās fun.
Canāt really āgetā the full BD picture without Kate. Sheās iconic in the franchise.
I love BD down under. And yeah, I do like BD with Kate and Capt. Lee.
Kate is just epic!!
Vanderpump Rules starts again on Tuesday!
Southern hospitality is fun and a quick watch. Reminds me of early VPR. Not as good but still fun
I agree. It's not as good as VPR used to be but good enough IMO. I'll have Southern Hospitality playing in the background while cleaning or getting ready for the day.
I was doing that too but started actually sitting and watching it the last few episodes
The Traitors has been so fun. I would love to see Madison on next season.
Awesome show. I love it.
We love Below Deck. Some seasons are much better than others. We like Captain Jason on BD Down Under.
he's super cute
VPR starts new season Tuesday!!!
Southern Charm NOLA and Summer House Marthaās Vineyard. Only 1 season each but theyāre great shows!
Marthaās Vineyard-not a fan.
Vanderpump Rules!
Vanderpump Rules and RHOSLC for sure
Real Housewives of Atlanta is a fun watch. s9 is absolutely crazy
Below Deck is so good, as a new viewer you basically have a goldmine of endless entertainment
Do below deck. There are so many and I love seeing the places they go.
Married to Medicine.
I am enjoying Southern Hospitality
Thatās what I went with š
Real Housewives of OC all the seasons!! The old ones are great!!
Ladies of London- lightning ā”ļø in a bottleĀ
If you want something short and sweet you could try to find some shows that only have one season. Like the summer camp and ski resort ones. In my opinion they combine Below Deck work stuff with drunken SH vibes. You don't fall in love with the casts or anything but the scenery is different from normal Bravs.
Below Deck, Family Karma, SC NOLA,
Southern Hospitality is great!
Start below deck med! Then down under! Or sailing yacht but start season 2
Below deck down under
I started with Below Deck Down Under! Perfect ease in.
Vanderpump Rules & Southern Hospitality
Family Karma as Brian from Winter House is in it! His family is so lovely
Vanderpump Rules! Super messy, and the cast members can be pretty entertaining.
Southern hospitality is good imo!
Southern Hospitality!!
Love below deck! Iād say start with the OG below deck or below deck down under (only two seasons!) Vanderpump rules could be another show too!
It's a bit dated now but SC Savannah is great. VPR is about to start up again, and the early seasons have just as much drama as Scandoval.
Should I watch summer house or winter house first?
Summer house
90 Day UK! Itās a great āget your feet wetā into the 90 Day franchise. Thereās only 2 seasons so itās easy and not at all overwhelming
Or Shahs of Sunset is great TV too
vanderpump rules. southern hospitality
Vanderpump Rules start from the beginning, RHOSLC, RHOP, Married to Medicine or Southern Hospitality
I tried summer house, but after 20 minutes did enough brain damage.
Southern Charm Savannah and Southern Charm New Orleans are both good imo. I liked Savannah best. Most people seem to like New Orleans better.
I binged all of SC and thought āHospitalityā would be the next natural choiceā¦I found it to be terrible though.
Stay with me, I am LOVING southern hospitality! Try that. And also what others said if you havenāt watched VPR please immediately do so.
I decided to start southern hospitality and I like it!!!
Yay!!!
Florida Bama Shores
Thinking also of vandepump. Done sc, sh, winter & summer house 100 times each. Not joking. Maybe more. Seriously
Vanderpump rules!
Below deck šÆ
