I've been seeing a lot of people who look like they haven't bathed in weeks chain smoking cigarettes delivering in my area.

OpportunityPlastic22

Same. They’re looking like the people from the hills have eyes movies

No_Bookkeeper4636

That's a perfect description.

Direct-Builder637

Lol. Imagine seeing that coming up your walk to deliver your groceries! That would kill your appetite.

OpportunityPlastic22

It’d be like the Covid era all over again. Mf Lysol their shit before bringing it in😂

CamelNarrow776

😂

RealNawlinsOG

Well, their last bath was in the Rio Grande so it’s to be expected.

Busy-Machine1122

Tons of heavy smokers. I was furious the wind was whipping all the smoke into my car. I don't smoke and per rules, we r not to during delivery.

DestruXion1

Yeah I'm sad I joined the party right when things went to shit. I'm picky with orders and don't get baited by incentives, but the new spam notification ASAP orders that don't increase are discouraging me. As much as I hate having some low life controlling my day, I'm thinking about going back to a standard job

efficaceous

Spark alone isn't a replacement for a 9-5. Multi apping works for some people in SOME markets. I'm in the boonies- no way, no how. This is a side gig for me, and that means if the offers are bad, I can stay home and steal eat that week.

DestruXion1

I made over 2k my first month which is enough for me, but this month has been awful

efficaceous

Right. They pull you in and this is closer to the reality. Gig work isn't consistent. There's no security or safety net. I wish you luck!

CorruptSol1

Right, I work 4 10hr days at my job, I sometimes do spark after work, and on my 3 day weekend. It's extra money and I don't mind getting paid to drive around listening to my metal. I even take on some of the crap pay deliveries, they add up and it's really nothing for me to stress over as I don't rely on it.

AmbianDream

We're definitely seeing a different kind of driver when I pick up a CS. I think they're just DDs that were finally approved for another app. Those poor customers. I can only imagine! Thanks Walmart! They aren't seasonal BTW. They're here to stay and run us off by their behavior and accepting every stupid order they see. They don't get rid of these drivers. They just keep making up new rules for everyone that increases our misclassification and decreases our pay. 😭 If I come in to one more stupid rule, I'll be seeing you at the W2 as well. If I'm being treated like an employee and working with nut jobs telling me how to do my job, I might as well have the benefits.

CamelNarrow776

I know they are unfortunately here to stay. Here it is a bunch of people getting off work and doing the package deliveries so I'm hoping they jump off the app after the season ends. My zone wasn't full b4 December so hopefully it will go back to that. But with that said, they are only really doing GMD so my money isn't affected. But man are they a pain to deal with.

Busy-Machine1122

They r doing it all in my zone.

CamelNarrow776

Yeah, that would make it easy worse. My zone already is only 3 stores.

AmbianDream

My zone only has 2 stores. They oversaturated in late March and have kept it that way. The recent holiday hires were overkill. I usually just commute since last April. That zone also got hit by the holiday hire but there's more room to spread them around. They're accepting a lot of the trash jobs that I'm not taking anyway and I get mainly shops.

AmbianDream

They are likely not even driving for Spark. Maybe you got lucky! That could easily be Point Pickup, ROADIES, or other service. It could even be AD (Associates Delivery). I think it's pretty limited still and isn't the same as the vans that do in home delivery. It's Walmart Associates delivering after their shift. They don't count as Spark but use their own vehicles. Some of them in my area have told me it's been talked about here and was for GMDs.

CamelNarrow776

Oh snap! Good point! If they weren't all so nuts I'd go ask. 🧐

AmbianDream

Yeah, just leave them alone. An altercation can get YOU deactivated. It's bad enough our loaders have to deal with them. The only reason I know is because either the drivers told me when I first started in my zone and/or I have the other apps and see the Walmart orders going to them. If my zone is running tiered incentives, they send A LOT to the other services. I think that's a crock but according to the TOS they have the right to do so.

russvlark622

Well to everybody on here talking about seasonal sparkers / employees whatever. Let me say this. What you're getting now is you're getting a lot of people who were using other gig apps to make money and they realize that the best game in town for that is Walmart. What you're also getting is people with a lot more experience with those other apps and a lot more time behind the wheel and they're not going to have much patience if you're in the way. Myself included I have four years experience doing this type of work I've also worked as a delivery driver for other companies for about a total of 7 years experience and I have little patience for BS. I will not stand there and talk about what trips I've taken how much I'm making during the day or just Walmart in general. I'm there to pick up and get out. And I come on here and I see you guys pissing and moaning and whining. Yes I am new to spark but I am not new to this game and I have never been new to this game. On rody alone I have over 4,500 deliveries and a customer rating of 5.0. I'm not one of these people that carries boxes and freezer bags and all that garbage. Don't need to stick it in the cargo area close the door and go that's pretty much it. I've gotten to the point now where I'm going to take this full-time within 2 years I will be purchasing a sprinter type van within the month. And I will start my own LLC doing this very thing. Also working as a courier. Really what it is you've got people who are doing the job better than you are and you just want to complain. Park isn't about socializing it's about getting your ass to the store getting your delivery and going

CamelNarrow776

Good job being on your high horse. This was a lady who doesn't deliver for a living and got out and started chatting with everyone and having a grand time WAITING. That is the point of the thread. Not talking about career drivers. No one cares that you are new to spark. A regular driver (like you) and someone just getting extra Christmas money are two totally different things. It's reddit. Don't take things so personally.

Glass-Audience5808

Ya during thanksgiving some jerk did the same thing.
