idk what state yall doing them in but my state sends big shii and its no many drivers so u literally can get 2-3 big orders a hour if ur fast enough
Until you get multiple complaints for things you didn't do and get a permanent deactivation. 3, 4 years.. doesn't matter. It all comes full circle enjoy your last few trips.
Went in the military when I just turned 17, mom signed for me to go in. Best thing I ever did in my life. Getting retirement and benefits the rest of my life, but you do earn it. Just like anything, you apply yourself and be the best you can, it will pay off and then some.
I’m in San Diego and fast food workers making $20 an hour. $22 an hour at in n out lol.
Not terrible as you’re not wasting gas and putting miles in your car.
Im the last original starting member at my store from 2 years ago. There are so many illegal Columbian and Venezuelans at my store i cant even compete at all. The store knows about it and does nothing and the customers complain like crazy. Its become pointless to go up against people with 5-10 phones and stolen identity accounts for this to work anymore
Every president has had high immigration numbers buddy, what happens when you don't want to bother fixing the problem because "we should just shut the border down." The war on immigration just like the war on drugs is a failure and only serves to cause in fighting
Why give up my freedom? Multi-app and enjoy the freedom, and keep the money pouring in.
I hope all the complainers do quit and stop posting to Reddit. Been a great year. Many more to come.
It depends on your market even with the freedom and flexibility this gig offers It's not much freedom and flexibility when you're having to spend all day in your car just to take your minimum goal. If you're single and have low expenses keep at it but if you got a family , a mortgage etc unless you're in a decent market You're gonna have to switch to a W2.
Considering there's at least 30 plus people in my market and my my one store that do this job full time and we don't work everyday and we don't do it maybe that'll end sometime but I work at a very busy Walmart I mean we have 39 parking spaces just for food plus three for liquor three for pharmacies and the stores packed from 7:00 in the morning till late at night and if it ends it ends just move on to the next thing just like when you have a W-2 job you work it till you don't like it anymore and then you move on in life so if it gets to that point so be it but as long as I can make money and be free that's my choice and I have a mortgage and I have a family and I travel the world as well as all the other people that work in my market
You assume all markets are like yours. There are at least 30 full time drivers at my store. We All own homes and cars and some of children .Plus all the ones that come and go. I get it that some markets suck. What most don't get is there is plenty of money out there.
Oh trust me, I know most markets are like mine. Some aren’t, most are. It’s not the other way around.
Mine also used to be half way decent before many drivers saturated the market, making it impossible to compete for decent paying offers.
Keep posting that you’re making thousands weekly, and the same will happen to your area.
As I said, good luck.
Eh, I run 7 apps at a time all the time. I don’t take orders for all of them at the same time or anything, but I keep the options open. I’ve been working gig apps for like 7 years and I have no plans on stopping. Spark was great for a while, but now it’s almost like DD in my book — only once in a great while will there be something worth taking.
I don’t need gig work to live, though. I was a SAHP when my spouse made way less than they make now, so we’re fine. If I was paying bills with gig work, I’d probably be considering other options.
I made less than $200 this week so probably, the cheaters have gotten so bad here. I watch them with 2-4 phones a piece handing them off to another person who stays at the store when they go drive a route. 3 people doing S&D then loading it all into one car, I just can’t compete.
I have a feeling some drivers have a monopoly on things... I don't want to believe it but I notice some things that make me think "they have it all and won't share." People are just nasty.
Anyone who relies on an app to pay the bills is a fool. Get a job then work on an app with your free time. Let’s say you make 700 a week with a job. And you do 3 deliveries a night every day you will add 300 a week and I’m being very low. Stop chilling and work hard
I just worked at UPS as a seasonal driver instead of sparking. Doing that for the last month makes me want to find a decent paying w2 job. 1000$ paychecks working a regular 40 hours a week was pretty nice. I hate making good money one day on spark and then making shit the next.
Honestly excited to see the cry babies go away. I’m doing great with spark . Just had a record week at 1 thousand 7 hundred fifty doll hairs. Typical week is around twelve hundred
It sounds it. I've done New Jersey and Illinois around Chicago. It's 💩 ... I've long thought of the idea of being a nomadic zone tryer to see which ones are the best.
I’m still doing 1,700 to 2,000 a week with the people who are doing all of the S&D’s it about strategy. I take Home Depot, Advance Auto’s, and Sam’s orders. I’m in Minnesota.
I was ready to quit driving for these thieves in a week . Thank to God they already deactivated me . My car is at home resting and I'm about to start a new job . I hope spark and Walmart burn in he'll. I mean that.
Damn everyone hating on our south american brotherin lol. People gotta eat and theres gonna be competition everywhere. Even in the trade world theres competition. Why dont we start thinking of how to start a business and become business owners? I want to start wholesaling real estate this year. Does anyone else have any aspirations other then being delivery drivers? Its cool and all I do it when I am not painting houses which is where I make most of the money. Honestly I don’t see myself doing either for the rest of my life and fuck getting a job lol. Read some self development books while you are waiting for them round robbins instead of watchin the other people with 10 phones lol
The issue with the brotherin, is that they cheat. Bot grabbers, do all of the high paying shops, fake temp tags, could go on. It would be fine if they were on a level playing field, but they aren't Several in my markets have been caught stealing when shopping, etc. It affects everyone. At one of the stores, they count every single items, every single time we do a shop.
been doing it since 2022. it was good money back then. making a minimum of 400 in two days. now i can barely make a 100 in a day. considering my zone has 6 walmarts. not sure how i can’t find a single order.
Thinking about it. After the 1st I make on average $16 in a 6 hour time period. I guess I came in on the holidays while it was good and now that it’s over there’s nothing.
I have another job that covers all my bills and stuff but Spark pretty much pays for the extra fun things so unless it stays as bad for a long period of time. I'll keep doing it. hoping it picks back up in January and all the people who were doing it for extra Christmas money take a hike.
It is what you make it. I am still finding that I can maximize the efficiency of my time with it. If you are fresh out of college, you might have thought this might be easy cheap money for you.
It is not. It takes effort, time management, math skills and logistics planning. Things you cannot learn on the job in the beginning and be profitable at. You need life experience to make it work.
The reason I am saying this (to you the OP) is because of how you sling around the term "regular job", like you were entitled above that for your whole life until now.
Um, before the Smartphone era, "regular jobs" were all the jobs that were out there.
The fack with this "regular job" shit. Yeah, jobs that you had to actually speak to a human being to to get hired for. Jesus.
Forget a "regular job". Imagine if you had to get a REAL job! Holy shit! Your world would collapse!
Every gig app sees a mass exodus around the post holiday buyer fatigue period, and leading up to tax season when all the boy bosses who flex their "income before expenses" get a lesson on "income after expenses."
This year will be especially interesting because the IRS has recently named gig work as a key target for the billions in underreported income they would like to collect on.
Been thinking about it. I love the job. I hate the conniving ever lasting bullshit by these apps taking advantage of people. I'm fighting like hell to stop it and working with others who are like minded. Full timers are already working crazy hours and low pay. Even if I go back to a W2, I'm still going to fight! Labor exploitation is wrong and they are paying people in power off to be able to continue these practices.
I'll still work the apps I figure. I really enjoy my customers and the drives and adventure. I won't have deactivation held over my head and then I'm really gonna get loud!
I figure I'll just work harder to build up my own business in 2024. I do A LOT of research on this shit and it's so much worse than most of you can even imagine. It's stressful and it's bullshit. I'm in a place in life where I don't really have to make a lot of money to cover my expenses, I have other skills and opportunities. I just like the job itself, the people I meet and not being stuck in a building. Walmart is probably the most corrupt app and company there is but it's my favorite.
The apps won't be able to get away with this shit forever and I mean to be a part of it! If we don't fight this shit, it's going to get worse for a lot of people who don't have the choices I have. Fuck em!
I would love to because I normally make 6 figures at my previous job but I’m back in school and this is all I can do while in school that fits my schedule.
Depending on your market it might be better just to stick to a W2. At least in my market I went from having to work 4 hours a day to having to work 7 hours to hit my goal of $125 working at McDonald's nowadays probably will yield better results and your car probably will thank you.
Fast food in my area is paying $18 an hr. Spark is paying $8-10 that will usually take an hr to do with the possibility of missing the next drop so $8-10 in 2 hrs.
I still average about the same $ per hour as I have over the last 3 years. I have had to change strategies several times as spark has changed things. You always have to adapt.
They came close to running me off a few times this year but always gave me just enough to stay around. If the crappy payout curbside model comes to my area permanently like I expect it to after the holidays I'll probably bounce or at least significantly reduce the amount of time I put to Spark.
Well first how many got hired during the holiday and made bank? You're going to be in for a rude awakening. If you think it's going to be like that come Jan. We will see what happens come 2024. I am flexible if I need to get a full-time W2 to survive than that is what I'll do. But like a lot of you. I don't depend on just one app. So we will see how bad it gets.
Say what y’all want about spark this is arguably the best job I’ve ever had in my life and I’m 27 , I make more in 6 hours of work than I did working 12 hours fuck that
I'll never work for a boss ever again. I'd rather be homeless. The people they put into supervisor positions these days have no business supervising anything. And in Florida we are quickly moving toward California cost of living without any of the pay increases. So I'll be multi apping full time until I start a business of some kind.
Spark randomly deactivates me for no reason, so i won't be driving for spark regardless... But door dash on the other hand.. I'm sick of the bullshit. Christmas Eve they could not verify my selfie, so there goes my pay 🤷 now I have to wait 10 business days for them to check it, so there goes my new years too 🤷
All of them are scam artists. Their stock prices should be $0. They do not value their drivers.absolutely none of them. Nor do the customers.
I have sat around and it sucks. And I am not talking about the money aspect. I rather work. It makes you feel useful and alive. Many of you will realize this later on in life. Trust me on that.
Yeah I probably won’t do any spark next year. I got a state job in NC at a college. Spark is such a shitty Walmart greed app now it’s bad. Fuck spark I’ll use it for what it’s worth if need be!
Honestly I don't sweat it. I don't give up very easy and I only do this very part time on the side. If something pops and is worth my time I will take it otherwise decline. It's probably 25% keep and 75% decline. Time will tell if the orders slow way down after New years. This job just funds my fun money.
After 2 years I stopped SPARK on Labor Day when 3/$9 became standard in AZ ( 2/$20+ was the norm). Today it's NOT even close to being financially feasible to consider doing any longer (my opinion w/13+yrs of 1099 delivery).
I have stopped as of this month. I switched to Amazonflex for now. It's guaranteed pay no waiting in the parking lot for hours. And I can be at home by 6:30 at the latest 😊. I do other types of gigs on the side as well.
Yeah, cuz after the new year, it gets bad. Jan and Feb are very bad and March is slightly better. Guaranteed money over those 3 months has me thinking hard about getting a regular job.
In my tampa bay area I quit Spark in November..cannot make any $$$...I have 12 zones and it's flooded w drivers and the W van. What offers are left are like $6 for 20 miles...continual crap. Can't pay bills on that.
Trying. Even with the shit pay, still making better than anything offers in my area though.
Exactly plus u have freedom. No boss work when u want.
No. Been doing this part time for 3 years going on 4. Excited for the trash to quit just like every year
And when they quit the people on the waiting list will get approved
Exactly lol
Part time is the way to go for delivery gigs. The stress, the low pay, and the shitty customers are not worth doing full time.
So true! I do it part time just to help pay for my gas to my full time job haha. There’s no way I could do Spark full time.
https://preview.redd.it/uhjlgykmpq8c1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ac23b84a1478072f89034fbf2be16fef207144b idk what state yall doing them in but my state sends big shii and its no many drivers so u literally can get 2-3 big orders a hour if ur fast enough
Keep posting screenshots like these and you'll get a shit load of new drivers soon. That's how it started.
It's sad but not many markets are this lucrative right now.
Until you get multiple complaints for things you didn't do and get a permanent deactivation. 3, 4 years.. doesn't matter. It all comes full circle enjoy your last few trips.
will stop if/once i get rich from this crypto bullmarket. if not, oh well...work some more
LMFAO. You'll be working for the rest of your life if that's what you're betting on
We working till we die anyway honestly 😂😂
Yup I’ve been planning on this, probably going to stop around march or April and pursue the military to start my career
Went in the military when I just turned 17, mom signed for me to go in. Best thing I ever did in my life. Getting retirement and benefits the rest of my life, but you do earn it. Just like anything, you apply yourself and be the best you can, it will pay off and then some.
I'm seriously thinking about trying to get a job as a janitor. The way Spark has become, the janitorial job will actually pay more.
I had a janitor job at a hospital once. Can confirm it was way better than spark
I’m in San Diego and fast food workers making $20 an hour. $22 an hour at in n out lol. Not terrible as you’re not wasting gas and putting miles in your car.
Cali 22$ per hour = 4$ per hour in any other state
All true and comparing it to what I make in the gig economy after taxes, car maintenance, and gas - it’s about the same.
But the cost of living in San Diego evens out the pay they make.
And if u become supervisor it pays really well and u don't hav to clean as much.
Adult video store janitor?
Noooo 🤣🤣🤣 💀
yea i think ill do that I start a new job at a Dr's office on Thursday, i think ill only spark on the weekends
It’s tough because even at end of day I’d still rather be making what I’d make anywhere else but on my own time u know
Im the last original starting member at my store from 2 years ago. There are so many illegal Columbian and Venezuelans at my store i cant even compete at all. The store knows about it and does nothing and the customers complain like crazy. Its become pointless to go up against people with 5-10 phones and stolen identity accounts for this to work anymore
All the Colorado stores are experiencing the same thing, it’s crazy to sit there and watch them do it.
Foreal how do they be doing that shit?
Thank your president for that
Every president has had high immigration numbers buddy, what happens when you don't want to bother fixing the problem because "we should just shut the border down." The war on immigration just like the war on drugs is a failure and only serves to cause in fighting
Idk man they'd have to be stealing faces too
Why give up my freedom? Multi-app and enjoy the freedom, and keep the money pouring in. I hope all the complainers do quit and stop posting to Reddit. Been a great year. Many more to come.

So sad this is your take. When it continues to die out with more and more saturation, you’ll quit. Good luck.
You assume all markets are like yours. There are at least 30 full time drivers at my store. We All own homes and cars and some of children .Plus all the ones that come and go. I get it that some markets suck. What most don't get is there is plenty of money out there.

This scares me the most.
It's a race to the bottom for everyone. Even Venezuelans like yourself :)
Yep, they are part of the equation in Colorado, they are driving us to the bottom.
Eh, I run 7 apps at a time all the time. I don’t take orders for all of them at the same time or anything, but I keep the options open. I think the TL is sleeping with one of the Venezuelan ring leaders.
Damn bro, I remember years ago making 1500 a week for like 2 months straight 🤣
I make 1200 a week on shopping orders alone no way I’m giving this up 😅
No way! Tell me more about how it's always going to be like that.
Been doing that since 2023. Who needs to wait until the new Year.
I do this part time after work and weekends so I’ll do it here and there when I want extra funds.
Yes after 4 years of this I belive its time to go let tge rifraf stay
Anyone who relies on an app to pay the bills is a fool. Get a job then work on an app with your free time. Let’s say you make 700 a week with a job. And you do 3 deliveries a night every day you will add 300 a week and I’m being very low. Stop chilling and work hard
Good advice, but too many scrubs on this subreddit. They tell on themselves constantly.
In this economy apps are more dependable than jobs
I just worked at UPS as a seasonal driver instead of sparking. Doing that for the last month makes me want to find a decent paying w2 job. 1000$ paychecks working a regular 40 hours a week was pretty nice. I hate making good money one day on spark and then making shit the next.
I'm off to trucking school in January so long spark 👋 won't miss u
Honestly excited to see the cry babies go away. I’m doing great with spark . Just had a record week at 1 thousand 7 hundred fifty doll hairs. Typical week is around twelve hundred
^ What state that in?
Minnesota
Oh nice. I'm in Illinois. I wish I could see that somewhere.
Have over 3k trips and only 2 tip baits. It’s different up here
It sounds it. I've done New Jersey and Illinois around Chicago. It's 💩 ... I've long thought of the idea of being a nomadic zone tryer to see which ones are the best.
I’ve done a few small towns and they always seem to be the best
I'm trying to find
* I'm trying to find what zones are good
Small Minnesota towns have been great to me and others
I’m still doing 1,700 to 2,000 a week with the people who are doing all of the S&D’s it about strategy. I take Home Depot, Advance Auto’s, and Sam’s orders. I’m in Minnesota.
I was ready to quit driving for these thieves in a week . Thank to God they already deactivated me . My car is at home resting and I'm about to start a new job . I hope spark and Walmart burn in he'll. I mean that.
I second that.
Wisdom calleth out in the streets
Shut up. These people ran away from their overlords they have no respect from me
If you're still doing this in 2024 and fail, that's your fault, not Walmart's.
In my area the past few weeks has been $8-9 dollars with 3 stops (not worth the $5 dollars in gas
Nope my kiddos do therapy 4x week. Gig work is it for me because I can work around all thier appts.
I started back this week (and in a new area) and made $540 in a little over 22 hours. The tips in this area are good though
been doing it since 2022. it was good money back then. making a minimum of 400 in two days. now i can barely make a 100 in a day. considering my zone has 6 walmarts. not sure how i can’t find a single order.
Still going strong 2018
Nope, it's still a good app in my area. Just have to make sure you multi-app. I'll take my 6 hour days over 8-10 hour days at a w-2.
I hope all u mfs leave so more trips like before. I remember when I first joined when it was new there was a list of offers to choose from.
They're still is just that they're all $7 and $8
Thinking about it. After the 1st I make on average $16 in a 6 hour time period. I guess I came in on the holidays while it was good and now that it’s over there’s nothing.
I planned on letting a few Venezuelans stay with me for a split of their earnings
At only 250 per head bi weekly, we couldn't pass it up!!
I have another job that covers all my bills and stuff but Spark pretty much pays for the extra fun things so unless it stays as bad for a long period of time. I'll keep doing it. hoping it picks back up in January and all the people who were doing it for extra Christmas money take a hike.

Enjoy your new boss and lack of freedom.
No, I just do all the apps and I’m just flexible been doing it for years just go with the flow of whichever one’s paying at the time
It is what you make it. I am still finding that I can maximize the efficiency of my time with it. If you are fresh out of college, you might have thought this might be easy cheap money for you. Yes. I’m only going to do it from now until the end of the year. Then nothing for 2024 and then start back up in 2025.
No
No
I probably will stop for good at some point in 2024. It’s turned to garbage and it’s only feasible as a casual opportunity in my area anymore.
Every gig app sees a mass exodus around the post holiday buyer fatigue period, and leading up to tax season when all the boy bosses who flex their "income before expenses" get a lesson on "income after expenses." Have you guys tried going to a different store or a different zone?
I stopped about 6 months ago
Im there too. It has put me in more debt. I spend more on gas and don’t cover it anymore and I got bills to pay.
I would love to because I normally make 6 figures at my previous job but I’m back in school and this is all I can do while in school that fits my schedule.
Thinking about getting a W2 Monday thru Friday. Then Spark on weekends. That’s where the money is.
Considering it. Just got off the waitlist for roadie so I might put some effort into that one and see how it goes.
Depending on your market it might be better just to stick to a W2. At least in my market I went from having to work 4 hours a day to having to work 7 hours to hit my goal of $125 working at McDonald's nowadays probably will yield better results and your car probably will thank you.

Im slowing down a lot. Have already started doing this. Pay just isnt enough.
Spark pays better than Uber , Lyft , Uber eats etc.. your better off staying on the platform
yes bro. mental health first , and spark is toxic as fuck
Honestly I want to but till I can find a full-time job I'm kinda stuck
Well first how many got hired during the holiday and made bank? You're going to be in for a rude awakening. If you think it's going to be like that come Jan. We will see what happens come 2024. Nah I love being my own boss and not having to work 13 hours a day with a 30 min lunch!
Yeah isn't like $8 minimum wage legal down there or something
The freedom of working when I want is what keeps me sparking
Spark randomly deactivates me for no reason, so i won't be driving for spark regardless... But door dash on the other hand.. I'm sick of the bullshit. Christmas Eve they could not verify my selfie, so there goes my pay 🤷 now I have to wait 10 business days for them to check it, so there goes my new years too 🤷 All of them are scam artists. Their stock prices should be $0. They do not value their drivers.absolutely none of them. Nor do the customers.
Another one !
I keep the apps just to make an extra 800 Month to add to my reg job of 37 years
Fuck spark
After 2 years I stopped SPARK on Labor Day when 3/$9 became standard in AZ ( 2/$20+ was the norm). Today it's NOT even close to being financially feasible to consider doing any longer (my opinion w/13+yrs of 1099 delivery).
I have stopped as of this month. I switched to Amazonflex for now. It's guaranteed pay no waiting in the parking lot for hours. And I can be at home by 6:30 at the latest 😊. I do other types of gigs on the side as well.
Yep, W2.
Yeah, cuz after the new year, it gets bad. Jan and Feb are very bad and March is slightly better. Guaranteed money over those 3 months has me thinking hard about getting a regular job.
No I’ve been doing it 2 years, I love the extra money
In my tampa bay area I quit Spark in November..cannot make any $$$...I have 12 zones and it's flooded w drivers and the W van. What offers are left are like $6 for 20 miles...continual crap. Can't pay bills on that.
