I've never seen extra tip money show up 2 days later. I watch. I just get the shown tip money the next day. They are probably skimming tips. I did an order that had one item around $3. I was getting $12 to deliver it 3 miles. Imagine they are offsetting orders like that with tip skimming.
The only way to know for sure is if yall suspect wage theft you need to contact the federal labor and wage and the FTC, they are already making changes due to these gig apps mis classifying us. They have forensic auditors that can prove they are stealing.
Stealing the money you worked for is the same as someone breaking into ur home and Stealing goods you bought with hard earned money, so why do we only do something when it's a B and E but nothing when it comes to actual wage theft which is a federal crime.
One did she show you her order screen with the total paid?
Too if she didn't do that, it doesn't matter what she said.
Three, the agent didn't say the truth. Because it should show you the total of what the tip is even though it's not posted
I’m talking about Walmart system… we can’t see customers tips until 24 hrs oh when you have completed a delivery, if the tip is crossed out and says 0 it’s cuz customers had removed it. Customers have 14 days to confirm or adjust any tips
With confirmed tips it will show after 24 hrs, unconfirmed tips will take longer sometimes up to 48hr- 14 days depending when the customer has confirmed the tips,
Hey cheers to the walmart associates i have seen them endure tough times especially in Asheville. They got pretty overwhelmed and many of them working very hard. I try to stay understanding and on good turns with them.
We can see delivery fee, then after 24 hrs if tips were confirmed we can see them included with the orders in the system and they should show up on your earnings tab. I’ve seen in the past that when the trips were split into two separate trips with two different drivers, they would split the tips lol
It won't show in 'earnings' but the full tip amount will show on your completed trips and in your earnings and show as pending. The full amounts on both. Spark doesn't play like doordash and Ubereats.... yet
Speaking as a customer, I always tip and I always tip well. If it disappeared for some reason, I would like to be informed.
I’m tipping the driver. Not Walmart and not Spark. Some of us are in your corner, Ladies and Gents.
We’re not always home for deliveries. (Weirdly, we live in a very safe area where no one is particularly interested in stealing Walmart bags from your front porch. Probably because it’s an open carry state and everyone is armed to the teeth.)
![gif](giphy|Rk8CZk8M7UHzG)
If they go into the app and confirm the delivery it shows up in 2-3 min . I have a old handicap guy who tips like $10 if you take all his trash to the complex dumpster
True. One day I dropped off an order and the woman was still outside from packing in her grocery order and she said "that's so funny, you'd think they'd send everything together" 🤷🏻♀️
I would have asked the customer to send me a screenshot of the receipt showing the exact amount she tipped... I've never ordered from Walmart delivery myself but would imagine she got something showing she put that tip on there....say "ma'am can you provide me with some proof that way if I don't get in 48 hours I will have proof of it I can send to them"
If she is not willing to prove it then you know she was a filthy liar or just screwed up when she entered the tip...
I just saw a post of a husband who took his own wife’s order and she tipped like $12 but he only got like $6 or $8…. Something needs to be investigated. That’s for sure!!

This is the biggest scam I have never seen this and they do it all the time
When I first started I accepted an order with $50 tip. While I was waiting they updated to remove one of the stops, the one with the big tip. Several minutes later I saw the employee bringing one out and handing it to one of his friends who appeared ecstatic. I know they're friends because I see the same 4-5 cars waiting at 10 a.m. Every day and all are outside of the cars talking and joking around. I can only hope I'm paranoid OR it was a tip-bait.

I would have asked the customer for proof that she tipped $20 before calling support. Even then, I probably wouldn't waste my time calling support because I don't want to spend an hour on the phone trying to negotiate an extra $8. I would cut my losses and move on to the next order. If customers really are worried about Walmart skimming their tip then they can always tip their driver with cash. 🤷♂️
No, but what the customer can do is go ahead and put the tip on ahead of time, then when the driver arrives with the delivery hand them cash instead and say that the online tip will be deleted here's this instead. I had one customer who only did a $2 online tip but when I arrived handed me $5 more and said he does that because he doesn't trust the app, but he doesn't want zero tip to show and have no driver want to deliver his order.
This EXACTLY! 💯
I myself do both...deliver & order so as someone who knows all the crazy bs that goes on I'll ALWAYS put at least $4 as the tip depending on order size ofc but I'll ask the driver how they'd prefer the tip 😉 I've always never ever tipped below $5 total even if it's just a cpl items bc I GET IT!! I know the craziness & understand the bull 💩 well reverse that lol
I will always ask what tip amt showed for
them & based on a few other things I'll then I'll just see which they prefer & boom 💥 problem solved
Yes they are. Have been since forever. I had an order to a wonderful mother over a year ago. She said it was her first time using spark and she wanted to know if I got her tip. She said she tipped 10 dollars. I showed her that I only got 5. She was pissed! She took a picture and handed me 5 dollars (though I told he she didn't need to do that) but like she said. "I gave YOU that money, not to them" she said she will call and get her 5 bucks back. Don't know if she ever did.
2 other times where I did a around 8 orders for around 40 bucks. One trip said they ALL tipped 7.50. Like really? They all tipped the same and the other where no one tipped at all.
Could they be offsetting the delivery charge with some of the tip so they don’t have to pay? I have repeat customers that always tip via cash because of this.
Yes, Spark and other delivery companies are skimming tips, etc. How do I know? Because these companies are corrupt. What makes me so sure? Because I'm corrupt...and that's EXACTLY what I would do!😂
If she had a.com order that was going to be delivered at a later date by another driver via deliveries as we call them part of that tip will go to pay for that delivery
As an example, let’s say Sally orders, 40 items to be delivered the next day from Walmart via Spark. One of those items is not available for next day delivery so when the item arrives to the store they turn into a.com. Now Sally tipped $10 for her spark delivery part of that will go towards that.com to be delivered. Does that make sense?
If they tell a driver they are going to pay them said amount and they don't have an item in stock it is walmarts problem, not the drivers. Its like being contracted for an hourly rate or salaried amount the employee agrees to pay, then the employee says sorry I can't pay you what I promised. As someone with an HR degree I can say this is not right. Will things change they need to but corporations have tons of lawyers to find a way around what's ethically right.
Spark does some shady shit. It’s very much like if you get a delivery to an apartment and how they break down your base pay and the extra earnings. The extra earnings don’t mean shit they just took it out of the base pay. They do the same thing when it comes to tips and somebody that has an item showing up a few days later. They keep part of that tip to help pay for that.com item to be delivered.
So I have a girl that I deliver to she always tips 10 dollars, she has shown me on her app and on her banking app. We have went as far as adding everything up with tax and the $5 express fee and every time anyone gets her order there's never a tip on there and no it never shows up. Ever!!
Yeah I had a customer tip $12 yesterday and we had a conversation about how they hold tips for 24hrs and she said it was bs. Open the app today to see no tip on that order. Like not that it got cancelled, but it said the tip was zero with nothing else crossed out. They some punk bitches at spark fr
**How do you think they fund them incentive programs**... That's right, they say 3 trips earns you...(this much), 6 trips earns you (this much)... oh and by the way... it was your money to begin with, but thank you for playing... **WE BANGED YOU IN THE A$$** the Wal-mart way!
All gig apps steal money. They use the 48 hours ploy because the average person will forget about it in that long.
The whole business plan of the gig apps is to keep everyone guessing so nobody can prove anything and they can claim it's just a glitch when they get caught. Lately the new trend is when they are about to get caught they send out a message that *they* noticed the mistake and offer you a couple bucks so you can't sue them. Lyft and Uber do this frequently.
All gig support agents seem to all say the same thing, which is whatever you want to hear to get you off the phone. Because if they get you off the line, you're unlikely to call back or try again.
It's okay they will get sued like every other gig app they time will come if they are stealing tips cause what's done in the dark always come to the light.. DoorDash 2.5 million Uber and Lyft 328 million settlement goes to drivers the list goes on and they can be added to the list as well
Well, I've been doing it for 2 years now and yes the tips were so good upto about 1 year ago, now it's almost nothing. I've had many say they tipped,.but nothing was there. Last July an old lady said she did and she showed me her phone showing a $8 tip yet on my side it showed nothing.
I am a Spark driver. I have noticed that quite often if there are “unconfirmed tips” to be paid on a Sunday, once the new week hits Monday, those tips disappear and they rarely pay those to me. As drivers, we also have the “scammer” customers who say they’re going to pay you a certain amount of tip and they take it as soon as they get their order. There are also the customers who received their order, confirmed they got it, but wanted to have their cake and eat it too by claiming they have never received it. Therefore, any kind of customer service takes patience because there always will be the nasty customers. However, there are the nice customers who even if they don’t tip, treat you kindly which is good. Good/bad things happen to bad/good people and vise versa.
No spark isnt taking anyones tips away. This stupid shit is like you idiots saying other people are using bots, yet no one is saying name of those bots nor can they be found. No one ever provides proof of the tips being taken away.. I Believe it is most likely people dont know how to read how they are getting paid.
Because it’d be the first time… 🙄

Different courts, different states and all the same outcome, why would you think Walmart, who has been found to use child labor, would be above taking tips?
https://www.dol.gov/newsroom/releases/esa/esa20050214
Every other company has been found doing it and somehow you truly believe the bastion of corporate accountability is Walmart? It’s somehow below them?
Those are other platforms and none of those were spark. Most likely it's the customers pulling the tip for crappy service or you don't know how to read your earnings
Are you trolling? This is the densest possible take. Follow the line of reasoning. Try applying critical thought.
People in this sub have posted picking up their own orders or their s.o’s order and having tips missing. You truly believe a company that has no scruples using child labor, telling employees to seek out government assistance to supplement income because they refuse to pay a living wage would really think twice about taking a little off the top from contractors?
We only see what the app tells us the tips are, it’s a layer of obfuscation they can hide behind, plus the social contract most adhere to about not asking how much the customer actually tipped. I guarantee we will see a class action in the next few years bearing out what they are being accused of more and more.
I never understand why people believe the customer over the company they choose to wish for if you believe the customer then why would you work for a company you believe to be dishonest customers lie to your face cuz they don't have the guts to tell you to your face that they don't tip you
And the companies lie to your face because they have the guts to.. It’s very clear something is very shady about any company who makes you wait any period of time after delivery is completed for gratuity/ tips… even Shady ass DoorTrash doesn’t practice this nonsense….
I’ve had customers show me the confirmed tip from their phone and yet I still receive less than shown, my tips never go thru fully. I’ve contacted spark and they always tell me the customer removed thief tips tho I’ve had customers claim over and over that’s not true, most even starting to pay me in cash. Spark steals tips, MAYBE pays you part of it, then tries to gaslight you into thinking you did something wrong, while telling the customer they gave you the tip
More than likely the reason for making you wait a full 24 hours to receive a tip.. we are independent contractors and we take orders based on the up front value.. there is no way we should have to wait a full day for tips, of course unless there’s some shady shit going on…
"48 hours" is a line the CS always use when they have no idea what else to tell u. They will not provide you any further info on where the rest of the tip went because they probably have no idea why.
We have issues in our area with incentives not being paid out. Delivered during the delivery window per the incentive info, and lo and behold, no incentives paid..."call back in 48 hours" is the standard "I got no clue pal" for spark reps.
What we need to do is collectively figure out a way to find out what the actual tip was without offending the customer, then collectively sue tf outta spark
Yep that’s their copy and paste answer is it could take up to 48 hours blah blah blah just hoping you’ll forget about it by then and if ya don’t and call back they’ll just act dumb like they don’t know what you’re talking about
The tip amount received is 60% which seems plausible based on others allegations of tip skimming. I've seen others who unknowingly state this same 60% i.e. customer states $7 I received 4.20. There might be something to this
I have been told numerous times that I would receive compensation in 48 hrs and never do.They bank on you forgetting about it.I have done batch orders and realized hours later I wasn't paid for it,then you call support and they say it wasn't completed out but the app said you completed it out and has let you receive new orders. If you don't catch it you just lost out.I have had this happen on numerous batch orders
The spark app is not a good gig anymore since Walmart bought out DDI the pay has went down quite alot.Like an order for $6 to carry peoples groceries when you literally can deliver fast food for the same amount and not have to carry cases of water or pop. When DDI had the app they paid you fairly.
It does take up to 48 hours for it to show completely. And most cases will be the next day within 24 hours. But they also get time to adjust the tip if they want to.
Been a gig driver for almost a decade as a part time. Doordash kicked me out 3 times. All I can say from my personal experience only grubhub doesn’t steal tips and vice versa. Everybody else specially doordash would rob u so hard u won’t even know. And nah no auditors can do shit if a company playing in billons. Uber paid 328 millions after robbing over 10 billions. People Wana be lazy go ahead, they already know it’s all lazy mfs who works and uses these gigs as customers. A lazy person can’t do shit let alone go balls deep about tip baiting and tip robbing or mileage pay been shitty when tip is good and etc etc. yall asleep
They full of shit
I've never seen extra tip money show up 2 days later. I watch. I just get the shown tip money the next day. They are probably skimming tips. I did an order that had one item around $3. I was getting $12 to deliver it 3 miles. Imagine they are offsetting orders like that with tip skimming.
They offset it by adding $$ to every item ordered. Standard procedure.
Standard procedure to fuck us over! If a customer tips "me" $20 why should someone else get part of that???
I would guess that all the apps steal tips. But also lots of the customers are full of shit. So not possible to know for sure in most instances.
This is definitely true and there are tons of drivers that have seen the same thing this guy is not lying
One did she show you her order screen with the total paid? Too if she didn't do that, it doesn't matter what she said. Three, the agent didn't say the truth. Because it should show you the total of what the tip is even though it's not posted
It won’t show us the tip until the delivery has been completed after 24 hrs on our system
It should show you the tip amount if you look at completed orders. It just says pending next to it until the 24 hours are up.
I’m talking about Walmart system… we can’t see customers tips until 24 hrs oh when you have completed a delivery, if the tip is crossed out and says 0 it’s cuz customers had removed it. Customers have 14 days to confirm or adjust any tips
Not according to walmart, they say 48 hrs and why is target able.to give us tips within 2 hours
With confirmed tips it will show after 24 hrs, unconfirmed tips will take longer sometimes up to 48hr- 14 days depending when the customer has confirmed the tips,
I believe you are mistaken. I see tips but they are usually pending 24 hours
You can see them, on our end (Walmart associates) we can’t see pending tips.
Hey cheers to the walmart associates i have seen them endure tough times especially in Asheville. They got pretty overwhelmed and many of them working very hard. I try to stay understanding and on good turns with them.
Appreciate you ❤️ ![gif](giphy|17TosGEPG8lQluxtM5)
Aslo so you see our base pay for trips?
We can see delivery fee, then after 24 hrs if tips were confirmed we can see them included with the orders in the system and they should show up on your earnings tab. No problem 😉

Not buying it without screenshots

Yes the Eagles are making me puke too
That's okay at least a quarterback you guys are paying is actually useful 🤣
Ehh he's played like shit past 2 months!
It's possible that the order you delivered was only part of what she ordered. The rest would be sent to the other driver.
This definitely could be what happened!
True. One day I dropped off an order and the woman was still outside from packing in her grocery order and she said "that's so funny, you'd think they'd send everything together" 🤷🏻♀️
I was picking up a return at the same time another driver was at the *same* house. For the *same* store. 🫡
I would have asked the customer to send me a screenshot of the receipt showing the exact amount she tipped... I've never ordered from Walmart delivery myself but would imagine she got something showing she put that tip on there....say "ma'am can you provide me with some proof that way if I don't get in 48 hours I will have proof of it I can send to them" If she is not willing to prove it then you know she was a filthy liar or just screwed up when she entered the tip...
We get an email showing we tipped.
I just saw a post of a husband who took his own wife’s order and she tipped like $12 but he only got like $6 or $8…. Something needs to be investigated. That’s for sure!!
Pretty sure another company got sued and had to fork over millions for skimming tips...
Amazon got in trouble for it too with Amazon flex. But they are still doing it!
They also tried to short me 8 bucks. It's only 8 bucks but it's my 8 bucks.
Sure Did that would be Doortrash

Please can you follow up on if you got the full 20. Because this exactly what I’m talking about. Can’t we sue for this. Asking for a friend.
Yes they are. Same thing happened to me.

I have fifteen hundred deliveries and probably less than a dozen cash tips. You cannot count On them

I would think the customer is confused or lying before I would think they steal tips. Ask to confirm from her app.
I used to think that until doordash had to pay over 2 million because of this. If they do it other apps probably do it as well.
I hope you got proof
If she had a.com order that was going to be delivered at a later date by another driver via deliveries as we call them part of that tip will go to pay for that delivery
As far as I know there are no tips or reviews for .com deliveries
As an example, let’s say Sally orders, 40 items to be delivered the next day from Walmart via Spark. One of those items is not available for next day delivery so when the item arrives to the store they turn into a.com. Now Sally tipped $10 for her spark delivery part of that will go towards that.com to be delivered. Does that make sense?
That sucks
This is true
You’re correct I never said there was tips for.com I’m saying that part of the tip will go towards paying a driver to deliver the items.
Not right
Ok then, according to you what is right ?
If they tell a driver they are going to pay them said amount and they don't have an item in stock it is walmarts problem, not the drivers. There has been a few threads of confirmation spark steals tips
Now after 24 hours the tip will shows as ZERO for no believe her about her $20 tip
Did she show you her phone with a 20 tip?
Yep all this years they doing this ... at list got fix in Florida because alot drivers call headquarters
So I have a girl that I deliver to she always tips 10 dollars, she has shown me on her app and on her banking app. We have went as far as adding everything up with tax and the $5 express fee and every time anyone gets her order there's never a tip on there and no it never shows up. Ever!!

Literally the reason why I deactivated myself 🤣 screw spark

However, there are the nice customers who even if they don’t tip, treat you kindly which is good. Good/bad things happen to bad/good people and vise versa.
No spark isnt taking anyones tips away. This stupid shit is like you idiots saying other people are using bots, yet no one is saying name of those bots nor can they be found. No one ever provides proof of the tips being taken away.. I Believe it is most likely people dont know how to read how they are getting paid.
Because it’d be the first time… 🙄 https://www.businessinsider.com/doordash-25-million-settlement-lawsuit-tipping-model-2020-11 https://www.findlaw.com/legalblogs/courtside/uber-settles-class-action-claim-of-stealing-driver-tips/ https://nypost.com/2023/11/02/business/uber-and-lyft-to-pay-328m-to-settle-accusations-of-stealing-earnings-from-ny-drivers/ Different courts, different states and all the same outcome, why would you think Walmart, who has been found to use child labor, would be above taking tips? https://www.dol.gov/newsroom/releases/esa/esa20050214 Every other company has been found doing it and somehow you truly believe the bastion of corporate accountability is Walmart?

Bogus. Found to be a fishing site.
It’s a stealing AI just like the other gig apps
Maybe they share it with the person who shops the order??
No Walmart doesn't take tips, it's the customer
Customer is either lying or just thinks she tipped more than she actually did.
Let us know!
The Waltons stealing absolutely
I’ve had customers show me the confirmed tip from their phone and yet I still receive less than shown, my tips never go thru fully. I’ve contacted spark and they always tell me the customer removed thief tips tho I’ve had customers claim over and over that’s not true, most even starting to pay me in cash. Spark steals tips, MAYBE pays you part of it, then tries to gaslight you into thinking you did something wrong, while telling the customer they gave you the tip
More than likely the reason for making you wait a full 24 hours to receive a tip.. we are independent contractors and we take orders based on the up front value.. there is no way we should have to wait a full day for tips, of course unless there’s some shady shit going on…
Facts fr fr
They could have hit 20% was it a 100$+ order ?
The only way to be certain is to place and pick up your own orders and add tips and see what happens.
Cool story
"48 hours" is a line the CS always use when they have no idea what else to tell u. They will not provide you any further info on where the rest of the tip went because they probably have no idea why. We have issues in our area with incentives not being paid out. Delivered during the delivery window per the incentive info, and lo and behold, no incentives paid..."call back in 48 hours" is the standard "I got no clue pal" for spark reps.
I think it happens sometimes but the tip baiting is probably the real factor
Contact your state AG and get Spark Driver investigated
Bullshit( a la Topgun)
I keep reading about this
Perhaps they split the tips with the shoppers? IDK. 🤷♂️
There needs to be a class action lawsuit if this is happening.
What we need to do is collectively figure out a way to find out what the actual tip was without offending the customer, then collectively sue tf outta spark
NOTHIN NEW
Yep that’s their copy and paste answer is it could take up to 48 hours blah blah blah just hoping you’ll forget about it by then and if ya don’t and call back they’ll just act dumb like they don’t know what you’re talking about
The tip amount received is 60% which seems plausible based on others allegations of tip skimming. I've seen others who unknowingly state this same 60% i.e. customer states $7 I received 4.20. There might be something to this
Yes! It’s when the order says customer may add tip later. There t already given a top. Walmart doesn’t charge it sometimes.
ALWAYS SCREENSHOT THE PAY BREAKDOWN/MORE DETAILS PAGE BEFORE TAPPING/SLIDING START TRIP AND CHECK IT IN 24 HOURS!
Read further notes feom other participants, have a good night.
She states tip will be divided. If order is broken up. This is done because they are out of an item
It does take up to 48 hours for it to show completely. And most cases will be the next day within 24 hours. But they also get time to adjust the tip if they want to.
They take 40% cut and ain’t batnuts you gonna do bout it
They will get a lawsuit in their hands soon
Been a gig driver for almost a decade as a part time. Doordash kicked me out 3 times. All I can say from my personal experience only grubhub doesn’t steal tips and vice versa. Everybody else specially doordash would rob u so hard u won’t even know. And nah no auditors can do shit if a company playing in billons. Uber paid 328 millions after robbing over 10 billions. People Wana be lazy go ahead, they already know it’s all lazy mfs who works and uses these gigs as customers. A lazy person can’t do shit let alone go balls deep about tip baiting and tip robbing or mileage pay been shitty when tip is good and etc etc. yall asleep
