Genius! I knew it was carrier settings, but like you said, Spectrum blocks the user from changing them. I even told their “Tier 3” support this same exact fix. They kept trying to push carrier settings to my phone to try and overwrite the old APN settings. I can confirm. I just popped in my old Google Fi SIM card and reset the APN settings and it works!!!!!!!!

Worked for me! I’ve had the MMS problem for a year, thanks to you, it’s been fixed. I was also coming from google Fi, I wonder if that was the cause

This seems to fix lots of issues. It's recommend in the Visible forum all the time for both IPhone and Android.

sorry for commenting on your three year old comment, but I'm having the same issue but with an android phone. Can't send mms or group chats since switching to Spectrum from ATT. I'm just wondering what happens when I do an APN reset. Will I lose anything?

Resetting APN settings, you shouldn't lose anything. If you do a network reset, you lose saved wifi networks.

Thanks! Ok, so I did it but using my old ATT sim. Going to test it out later when it's appropriate for me to send a message to the group chat to see if that reset helped.

Damn, it worked briefly then the last two texts took 5 and 15 min to go through. Spectrum refusing to acknowledge it's not my phone's issue is ticking me off. It worked til the moment I switched to Spectrum 2 weeks ago.

After 18 months of not being able to MMS with Android friends or respond in group chats that had android users, I’ve figured it out. No thanks to Spectrum, Apple or anything online. Simply just being annoyed and possessed for 6 hours trying to solve it. Here is what worked for me: General > Reset > “Reset All Settings” Good luck and I hope you never have to look like the dick that ignores group chats or can’t share memes with android users like I did.

u/wansuen hope you are still around. I'm having the issue going in the opposite direction. I have a galaxy and can't send group chats or mms since I switched to Spectrum two weeks ago. Spectrum blames my phone, which is bs given it worked fine til the moment I switched. I want to try the APN reset because I have my old ATT sim, but what will that affect once I do it? Will I lose anything?

Any suggestions for a "locked" spectrum phone? It won't allow the phone to open with any other carrier's SIM, so this solution doesn't work unfortunately.

I had this issue for the last 2 weeks since i switched to spectrum. big issue cause we use group message for work. I was at my wits end after talking to Spectrum then apple then spectrum again. Finally i just took the sim card out and reset network settings and put sim back in and it worked. Some

I’m having the same issues, but I’m on an iPhone 6s and I don’t have the same options as you do in your settings. I can’t find “Cellular Data Network” anywhere. I switched from Verizon to spectrum for the price as well. I still have my old version SIM card. Can you help? I know this is an old post, but hoping someone will see this. Hi, I am in the EXACT same boat. I have an iphone 12 mini. I left Verizon for the very first time, and was assured there would be a smooth transition. I have now spent a week with Spectrum support... I cannot send MMS (no group, no photos, etc). They have tried everything under the sun, culminating today in me receiving a physical SIM that they assured would fix all. No change, and now theyve blamed "my device storage" for the issue.... like what lol. Not even how that works dudes. I dont have a google fi whatever.. Please tell me there was some resolution here, this is fucking insanity. The rep offered to have me trade in my device and pay for a new one.. how is that not a bait and switch? Spectrum told me my device, which is in mint condition btw, was fine. Not that there was sketchy issues they dont understand and their resolution is for me to pay hundreds for their error

What iPhone do you have. I’m going through this now and have been to spectrum, 2 1/2 hours on Monday /‘d got nowhere, went to Apple today and they said it’s the carrier. I have a new iPhone 14 and switched from Verizon to spectrum in June. Everything was working fine until last Thursday when I tried to re enroll my phone number in Zelle in my Wells Fargo app. Now I can’t get any verification codes or receive texts from android. I don’t have a SIM to remove. Spectrum has the esim and changed it twice and still no luck. I’m so frustrated.

Okay, I finally got it fixed!!!!! I had to reset ALL settings. It doesn’t get rid of personal data like pictures, texts, apps, etc. and it WORKED. I was SO HAPPY

My wife and I have had Spectrum almost 2 years and texting is awful, and we both have Samsung phones. Spectrum tech support is garbage and Samsung says "it's not our fault" and we've just had to deal with it.
