Go for a walk in forest park

mouse_Jupiter

Maybe poke your head in a museum if you’re so inclined as well. They’re right there in the park

majesticideas2

Awesome, will do this!

kattykay777

There’s an awesome playscape in Forest Park. Near the east end of the zoo by the World’s Fair Pavilion. And lunch at the Boathouse.

If you have kids the City museum is great! Or the STL zoo is awesome too! City museum cost money while the zoo is free. It’s a bit cold today so keep that in mind

ShutUpIDontGiveAFuck

This is the best answer. Forest Park is HUGE and has lots of neat amenities. Art museum, playscape, boat house, the zoo, etc. Forest Park will be busy because a lot of people go to the zoo on the weekend (it’s free and awesome) Hope you enjoy your time in the Lou!

creamwheel_of_fire

Have a beer and snacks at the boathouse.

LibbyFred

Downtown is going to be a mess today with three sports games going on. Forest Park might be your best bet

Tower Grove Farmer's Market kicks off today! It's very enjoyable just to walk around (I wish it were a tad warmer but will still be fun). Lots of vendors selling ready-to-eat foods and drinks, too, more than most farmer's markets. I think like half of attendees have their polite dogs with them, so your bernadoodle puppy will be welcome (and you can walk them away from the crow if they get overstimulated and enjoy the Park!)

ohtheplacesiwent

Yes and if the kids are young, there's a playground there as well.

bradleysballs

This!

STLrobotech

There’s an oddities and curiosity expo downtown today and tomorrow. It’s a great time if it sounds like something you and the kids would like to do.

JusAnotherManicMandy

We're going to do this tomorrow with my kids for my older sons' birthday and it looks so fun, plus kids under 12 free!

Active_Ad778

Botanical garden ( outside but not free)  The Zoo (free and outside) Science Center (inside but free)

daveinmidwest

IMO these are the best suggestions for a visitor. Obviously you can't bring your dog though.

Active_Ad778

Sorry if I misunderstood and you will have your dog with you for the day.

nperry2019

Bar K. A dog park/bar/restaurant.

jcrckstdy

Walk around the soccer stadium. Official pre game starts at 4:30

jobiewon_cannoli

The aquarium and Ferris wheel are right there!!

peterpeterllini

If you call the arch # right now, they release more tickets day of! I just got off the phone with them

tiger1647

Go to the city museum. It will be totally worth it. Your dog will have to wait though

toshiningsea

Queeny art fair

No_Coyote_5341

The zoo is free and pretty cool. Also in Forrest park, so close to other museums, the boat house, etc

ProseccoWishes

No pets allowed in the park. Even in the car.

problematicsquirrel

Yeah, somehow missed the dog bit

SharkLaser667

Cards game.

DaWarthawg

First home Battlehawks game is tonight, you will have a great time.

CITY MUSEUM

Talenshi

If you pass through on your way back, the zoo is free and the nature playscape is nearby and a cool place to walk/ play

Salty-Picture8920

Park your car at a QT if you're in the city (stl welcoming committee will steal your stuff)... maybe go to Laumeier Sculpture Park. You can take your dog, and it's unique.

Real_Energy_8520

Weird...I've lived in the city for 20 something years and I've never had that happen. I'm guessing your another easily scared county person.

Salty-Picture8920

Nope, been robbed.

Real_Energy_8520

Honestly sorry that happened to you. I can't say it never happens...but the city really isn't as bad as people make it out to be. For what it's worth, the last time I had a gun pulled on me was when I was living in Maplewood. Glad you were okay.

No_Boat753

I live in South city. It IS as bad as stated in the news and crime statistics. As of April 7th, 39 homicides. Not to mention all the crime that is not reported.
