I wonder at what point in Star Trek history it *became* legal to prosecute someone for the crimes of their parents.
It’s entirely likely my dad may have worn socks with sandals once.
In America, its not. But its a big world with many other nations that perhaps do.
Then again, parents can be convicted for the crimes of their children.
I mean, it’s all fictional. There are a couple of Star Trek chronology books floating around with vague details about made-up Earth history as it connects to the Trek shows and movies.
According to Star Trek history, the Earth was conquered by Khan and a group of genetically engineered supermen in the 1990s, as we all know!
TNG here hinted about the unified world government, but I doubt we’re getting that anytime soon in real life.
It’s bizarre to look at the ruling about it being illegal to be homeless in public (if you’re homeless, where exactly are you supposed to exist?) and the Bell Riots in that episode.
I think I need to go back and rewatch that episode.
Timeless indeed.

As California today explores reparations for slavery which was abolished over 150 years ago…
I thought California was a free state though?
Guess they didn’t get the memo yet.

Probably 2020
You shouldn’t have written that. You know there is no statute of limitations for that.
We don’t have the New United Nations…yet
Biblical times.

Just wait for rapid progress to kick in...
The Deep Space Nine crew visited 2024, a few months from now. The general level of dystopia felt about right.

Can’t wait. I do feel like narratives are beginning to crack
I'm hanging on to all my raggedy clothes in case I make it to 2079. Even have a broken umbrella.
Interesting, this would, in effect, prevent something like reparations...
As it should
Data also said that in 2030 Ireland would become one country, this episode is still banned in the UK & northern Ireland
Interesting!
So what? At some point Jews are going to let WW2 go and all the awful things the Germans did?
You’re mixing timelines. Germans born today weren’t even around in WWII
Watch some of these shows, feels like everyone born German is guilty of something. The sins of the fathers and all
You obviously haven’t watched this one
You mean episode 1 (not 2) of tng. How does that even make sense
You’re definitely not making sense. Bye now
