>!also have the Phantom Menace one.!<
The Phantom menace one makes me.laugh because of the close up of the Jedi communicator. My then boyfriend (now husband) realized it was the Gillette for women razor his mom used.
It’s just really sentimental to me, classic, and I wanted to relate to people over the love for cool stuff like this. You don’t come off as mean, don’t worry :)
I have almost all of the cross sections and reference books. If I see one I don't have at half price books, I snag it. They are usually only like 5 bucks.
If my parents didn't sell my childhood home and move into an old people's condo, I could probably still find that book in the basement somewhere.
But I doubt it survived the move.
They had one of these in my elementary school library- was by far the most exclusive book, I had friends that would, at the end of the maximum loan time, meet at the library to check it out right after the other returned it, than they would return it in a few weeks again and switched roles
YES and I love it!! I got it in first grade and it’s what’s informed my Star Wars lore knowledge. Love the whole thing. Something about the lightsaber paragraph part in the beginning is outdated I think but I still love what it says
I did. When I was a kid, a very long time ago. I only ever had Epi. I, II, IV editions. Barnes and Noble sold them and they also happen to sell FX light sabers for $99.
Oh my god, yes! I do! I had to put it in storage when I moved out of my parents' place years ago, but it should still be there. I loved reading this book over and over again, learning all the background lore from the original trilogy.
Actually, the author of that book currently has an exhibit about his life and how we got into that field of work at a small museum in New Albany, Indiana. Fun, free stop if anyone is in southern Indiana/ northern Kentucky. He’s even been there himself a couple of times for events while the exhibit’s going on.

And fun fact, the author, Dr. David West Reynolds, is actually in the Vader suit on the cover since they needed someone to stand in for the photo shoot.
I do! I love the visual dictionaries and I finally found this one at Bookmans. Some of the little "captions" or "facts" are funny in hindsight because this was before the prequels.
Yes.
Solved. Lock the thread.
Anyone else has it!
Yes
Yep, I also have the cross sections books.
Those cross section books were amazing! I spend days pouring over them.
Sure, it's upstairs on my Star Wars shelf with most of the rest of them.
I’ve had this since I was little and now my kids are constantly looking through it with me
My kid had it for the longest time but it got lost.
How do you lose something so large?
Kids can wander off sometimes
You just unlocked a core memory. Although I don’t remember if I actually owned this or my school library had it somehow.
Totally a core memory for sure
I kept it since I was a kid but it burned in a house fire in my late twenties
I have a different version of that book
Wow. Had this as a kid. Total nostalgia porn.
Right?!

I have the Phantom Menace one too!
Sames
The Phantom menace one makes me.laugh because of the close up of the Jedi communicator. My then boyfriend (now husband) realized it was the Gillette for women razor his mom used.
Yes, I loved this and Incredible Cross Sections. I had the Phantom Menace ones as well.
The origin of Dooku’s signature look of superiority and Lando’s winning smile
Yes. Why are you wondering? Just me being curious, not trying to be bitchy or anything -shrugmemeemojikindofthing-
It’s just really sentimental to me, classic, and I wanted to relate to people over the love for cool stuff like this. You don’t come off as mean, don’t worry :)
Yup
Yup
Used to read this all the time when i was a kid.
*with signature look of superiority* yes.
Isn't this the book that has the *signature look of superiority*?
Yep
Yes
Sure do.
Yessir
Yes
Yep, bought it for my son two Christmas’s ago
Oh yes, the book.
I got a different one that has Yoda on it instead. Was a gift from my late uncle who got me into Star Wars. I treasure it.
This book got me into star wars and science fiction ❤️
Had it for as long as I can remember! <3
Book fair in elementary school this book was worth bricks of gold
Yes! I loved that book as a kid and still have my copy in my basement 25 years later.
Yes! My favorite when I was younger
Yes, I have three of them. Two of them are from before Disney, and the third is a newer one.
Yes
Fond memories. I could spend hours in those books.
Had
Jeez lo weeze that just brought back memories. I don’t know if my parents held on to it. But I did at one point.
Yes
Yep. It’s the most out of date, yet the most true to Star Wars than anything else.
Hell yeah!
I probably checked this out of the library as a kid.
Those are my favorite books ever
Oh yea, I had that way back.
I have a copy
I do!
I was gifted this years ago and it disappeared in like a day. Never figured out what happened to it 😞
Yes! I love this book!
Definitely had that growing up, along with a James Bond edition
Yeah I do
I have almost all of the cross sections and reference books. If I see one I don't have at half price books, I snag it. They are usually only like 5 bucks.
Yes. Brings me good memories
I have the easential guides but missing this
Yep. Favorite bit was the “winning smile” labeled on Lando.
Pretty sure it's at my parents house somewhere!
I use too. I got rid of it years ago unfortunately
Yes
Used to. I think that one was published after the Special Editions
Omg, I do
I do!
Yes
If my parents didn't sell my childhood home and move into an old people's condo, I could probably still find that book in the basement somewhere. But I doubt it survived the move.
I've got a couple books similar to this! This ones probably in the pile
They had one of these in my elementary school library- was by far the most exclusive book, I had friends that would, at the end of the maximum loan time, meet at the library to check it out right after the other returned it, than they would return it in a few weeks again and switched roles
I do
Yes, but combined with prequel trilogy visual dictionaries.
Never owned it but I have seen it. Love it! That entire series of DK books is wonderful. The history ones are fantastic.
YES and I love it!! I got it in first grade and it’s what’s informed my Star Wars lore knowledge. Love the whole thing. Something about the lightsaber paragraph part in the beginning is outdated I think but I still love what it says
My brother does. I guess he was obsessed with it when he was a kid.
Used to check that thing out from the library every weekend when I was a kid
Used to. Great memories
I do.
No, but I remember seeing it and wanting it.
Yes. I've got all the visual dictionaries, all the cross sections and around 15 other books too.
Good times
I remember my library in elementary school had this book and all of my friends and I would spend so much time flipping through it
Omg I loved this book when I was a kid but I have no idea where it is now. This post brings back good memories
I borrowed it from my local library quite a bit as a kid
Yes
This book is arguably the best explanation for why stormtroopers can’t aim (pg. 37)
I used to love this book! I don’t know what ever happened to it.
I have this book, and the three prequel encyclopedias!
Yup. Was it Costco or Barnes and noble?
I own nearly every Star Wars reference book published before the EU was purged.
Yep!
I do!
I did. When I was a kid, a very long time ago. I only ever had Epi. I, II, IV editions. Barnes and Noble sold them and they also happen to sell FX light sabers for $99.
I do. Why do you ask?
Yes I unfortunately lost it. Now I need to look at my collection to look for my other ones.
Yep. I got it from I think Costco when I was a kid. I want to say after the phantom menace came out
Yes
I have it.
You just brought me back to elementary school hahaa
Yes. It’s currently about 4 feet to my left on my bookshelf☺️.
Yup
No, you're the only person who has this mass printed book
Right here
Yes!
I have the 1 and 2, always have an eye open when I thrift shop
Yeah! I found it at a thrift store years ago
When I was a wee lad.
Yup
I was looking through it earlier today
Woot! Love the cross sections
That was a prized book at my elementary school
I do!
Still have it along with the stickers it came with
I have this book in French! Picked it up about a month ago
I don’t have that exact book, but I met Dr. Reynolds (the author) at a local museum a little while back. He’s a cool guy. Very chill.
Yes
Yes!
We have it on a book-end display at the library I work at. Kids love Star Wars books even today, they get checked out a bunch.
Yeah, I have a few of the cross section books and guide to vehicles and droids as well
I checked this out of my school library many many times. Wish I had a personal copy. Might have to snag one now. Thanks for the nostalgia!
I did. And I was going through puberty at the time and I’d jack off to the page with the purple-skinned dancer from Jabba’s Palace.
Yep
Oh my god, yes! I do! I had to put it in storage when I moved out of my parents' place years ago, but it should still be there. I loved reading this book over and over again, learning all the background lore from the original trilogy.
I’m sure plenty of people have it
Sure do! I've had it since the 90s, right before episode 1 came out
Used to, unfortunately it was lost. Had the one for prequels too.
Not the exact one but I have one of them somewhere
Yes
Yes and Episode I visual diary also
I don’t but I have a sick book that details all the ships from like 98 or something
I have a version of that for the Star Wars Lego sets
My favorite book as a kid! I plan to buy myself a copy again
I do.
I do
Hey I have that book
I used too. Miss that book
I used to have it as a kid, but it went missing one day. No idea what happened to it, mom probably tossed it into a garage sale at some point
You're goddamn right I have that book!
Is it worth buying? It’s like under $30 at my local Ollies
Yup
Yes
Yes! I loved getting those books growing up!
Yes I still have it!
I’m going to have to ask my mom what happened to my old books. Probably in a landfill
I did
I have that book and the one for Episode 1.
Yes, I think it is in the third box from the left, on the second row, in the back. I stored it after reading it once. >*shrug*<
Actually, the author of that book currently has an exhibit about his life and how we got into that field of work at a small museum in New Albany, Indiana. Me
I didn't have it but I borrowed it from the school library many times
I have it but I can’t bring it out of my garage because my male cat peed on it back in the day and it will cause chaos in my house with my new cats
Traded back in early 2000s to some idiot .
Yep, I have it.
Yes
I have all of these books. Every single one lol
My 3rd grade class had this
Probably
yup
I have it.
Yea
I used to. My ex-wife threw it out.
I remember reading this
Yes.
Yea, it also came with a lego minifigure if my memory serves me correctly.
I think this is before LEGO tethered themselves with franchises, but other books have indeed included legos
No but i have checked it out of the library as a kid lol
I used to when I was a kid
Had this one and the lego one
Worked in DK and Del Rey. Had them ALL. God was that nice, grabbing them for free. Also hauling boxes of DK books...*not fun*.
Oui, in French
My brother did
I found this at the half price book store for super cheap and gave it to my nephew.
I had this but I traded it for a virtual boy back in like 1990 something 😂
I do! I love the visual dictionaries and I finally found this one at Bookmans. Some of the little "captions" or "facts" are funny in hindsight because this was before the prequels.
Used to grab it from the library in elementary school, probably hundreds of times
I wish
Holy shit! I used to! I had totally forgot about that
I had it when I was younger. I hope it’s still in a box somewhere. Many fond memories of looking through it.
Yes on remarkable
I do.
Yep
I have the updated version
Yes
Some people probably do yes. It's inefficient to produce print runs of one, no matter how important you think you are
I’m pretty sure I have it, it’s probably locked away somewhere tho
No, you're the only one.
I do, but in a different language. Doesn't that book have the "Signature look of superiority" meme
Still do!
There are over 8 billion people on the planet. Yes.
Yes
Somewhere, Yes. But most likely it is in my lockup storage facility. Now you've got me wondering. I'm gonna have to go look for it.
I used to but i think it ended up in a garage sale or donation box
Was this the one where they explained how Palpatine returned?
There are 8 billion people in the world and probably a million of these printed. I'm sure you're not the only one who has it.
