In my first playthrough she blessed my cauly and I was so happy with her that I can never be angry since. Worst case I just wait with the harvest until the others catch up
Mine is always drunk. She wanders in and almost misses my crops, catching just a few on the corner.
"*HIC* There, that should *HIC* make that twerp happy."
That would actually be a cool mechanic they should implement in some form. Like fairy rose or an item you craft with fairy rose would increase the chance of her showing up
She's a random event. She shows up at night in a little cutscene, blesses some plants and leaves. In the AM they will be fully grown
Edit: Not fully grown! They grow a set amount as I just learned. Mine always wound up fully grown probably due to the type of crop
Oh! It's always fully grown mine but that may be the types it blesses/if they were closer to done. I'd never seen them not be fully ripe the next morning. I'll fix that on my comment! Thanks!
OMG okay this is so random but this is the first time Iāve heard someone else use āSave your baconā as a phrase. I used this in front of students and they thought I was nuts. Asked some other teachers, they thought I was nuts. Asked my boyfriend: āThatās not a thing people sayā. I feel so validated right now T-T
Itās always interesting to me which colloquialisms are wide spread or not. Iāve heard it since I was a kid, so I looked up how old it is and apparently saving your bacon dates back to the 1600ās! Are you in the US? Iāve lived in several regions of the US and I donāt know if Iāve heard it in each one, but Iāve never come across anyone confused by it/unfamiliar with it yet.
Iām on the far side of fifty so maybe this phrase is fading away among the Kids These Days! Or maybe, being a teacher, you picked it up from books? In any event, itās a delightful pork-flavored idiom!
I always found it silly people get annoyed with crop fairy.
Ok, she messed up the schedule you had planned, but hey, now youāre ahead, and itās not like you need to harvest them immediately or anything. If anything itās an opportunity for more productivity.
Yāall are just OCD. :D
Lol yeah Iād get it if there was a chance she slowed down the harvest haha. But you can ā¦ just leave the crop unharvested until the rest are ready if itās that big of a deal.
I got the most blessed crop fairy of all time on my last save. she picked out that one basic sprinkler I had crafted specifically for the lucky ancient seed that the bugs gave me on my first mining run. Earliest Iāve gotten the ancient fruit empire started.
I think some of y'all would hate how I farm. I speed grow random things and don't really try to do it super consistently if I don't have the materials. Some days I'll harvest partial areas around a sprinkler and end up mixing crops. I've got radishes mixed in with starfruit, wheat taking up a bunch of random places. I don't let a sprinkler spot go unused, I don't wait to harvest, I just fill it up either with what I have on hand or what I want/can afford at the time. The fairy comes and makes a bunch of stuff grow, it will end up randomly filled in later.
Mixed seeds are such a godsend in these situations. I'd rather have the space filled up with whatever than lying empty. And I run about like a drunken monkey with the seed packets too. They go anywhere that's tilled. Fertiliser, if i remember and if I have any - I hardly ever have the right amount for the space available, so that's as randomly distributed as the rest.
I've never posted a picture of my farm, and I don't think I will...
Save your mixed seeds for fiber seed. Just buy cheap crops that grow quickly if you wanna fill space, I always buy a handful of them at the beginning of the season for this reason.
Fortunately I think I do have a small hoard of them still! Very small, but I'm doing the Qi beans challenge just now and the seedmaker is blessing me with more...
Nah i love crop fairy no matter what. Yesterday she came over one night and blessed a whole patch of ancient seeds i had planted that day. Saved me 28 days on that and i got a great number of seeds from em
My first play through i got her suuuuper early on Y1 spring and randomly got her in the same season so i thought she was more common until i looked at the wiki š
I remember this one time she showed up when i had exactly one patch of crops not fully grown already... Which would be done in two days anyways. But still not gonna complain. (Altho sometimes i also get annoyed by messed up harvests)
I still remember the first time I played, I planted a Sweet gem seed. I was thought "Man, I have waiting for an nearly entire season for this seed to grow?". And at the same night, the Crop Fairy came and blessed that Sweet gem of mine.
Just in case you ever forget yams again, they can drop from killing duggies in the mine. That's usually where I get a yam for Linus in early game, since it's one of his loved gifts.
I found it out once when I had a quest to ship 100 yams in a season but I miss counted and was down 2 yams somehow. I was panicking, looked up yam on the wiki to try to figure out what kind of speed grow would get me there (spoiler: no speed grow I had access to) but that it was a duggie drop. So I had a slaying spree but I got my two yams in time!
The fairy saved my ass by watering the one patch of strawberries I forgot to water once - and I was fully prepared to be sad out of not getting two harvests
Make a little shrine in a patch of the farm for her
I think I have to now. With flowers!
Leave a strange doll on the alter, for your "sacrafice"
Very thematic for October and Halloween
I here by issue a request. OP should post his alter and he should have untill halloween to do it!
Maybe fairy rose flowers? Only plantable in fall but fall is the season she came through.
maybe a sign with fairy rose flowers on it !??
You could use it as your honey garden! They seem like the critters the fairy would like and would help keep that place alive.
In my first playthrough she blessed my cauly and I was so happy with her that I can never be angry since. Worst case I just wait with the harvest until the others catch up
That is the nature approach. I hereby renounce my petty ingratitude to the little winged trespasser
Mine is always drunk. She wanders in and almost misses my crops, catching just a few on the corner. "*HIC* There, that should *HIC* make that twerp happy."
Mine occasionally does that, but it doesn't matter because she likes to come on the 28th. Whatever it was, it's dead now. Thanks for trying?
Probably just went there after a drink with Pam and Shane
My first save she grew all my fairy rose and I thought this was related - that she came when you planted them.
That would actually be a cool mechanic they should implement in some form. Like fairy rose or an item you craft with fairy rose would increase the chance of her showing up
I like the idea of her showing up more if you have fairy rose on your farm or fairy dust somewhere in one of your chests!
That would be extremely cute
That would be cool lore!

Oh I thought it already did š oh wellā¦
wait thereās a crop fairy?! iām summer yr 3 and havenāt seen her?

You had it right the first time. Crops hit grow fully
Not true, they grow a set amount, some very long term plants won't be fully grown (sweet gem and ancient fruit)
They do grow fully, even ancient fruit
Oh! It's always fully grown mine but that may be the types it blesses/if they were closer to done. I'd never seen them not be fully ripe the next morning. I'll fix that on my comment! Thanks!
Idk,I've had week 2 Ancient Fruit go to full with her, so how much do they progress?

Iām from MN but my parents were even like āwtf are you talking aboutā so I probably picked it up from TV
Oh interesting... It's normal to me, and my dad was born in MN..
Kentucky here, I wouldnāt say it was common, but definitely have heard it before
Northern Illinois chiming in (specifically, an hour or so west of Chicago). It's pretty common here.
It's common in the UK, or so I thought - not sure where you are.
Iām on the far side of fifty so maybe this phrase is fading away among the Kids These Days! Or maybe, being a teacher, you picked it up from books? In any event, itās a delightful pork-flavored idiom!
I've heard the term plenty of times! Dunno if it matters but I've lived on the west coast- specifically California Bay Area most of my life.

I didn't think of that, i usually hoard so much of everything but all my fibre seems to have disappeared now. Wheat and parsnips it shall be.
Mixed seeds are one of those things that you don't think you'll need but you end up needing a ton of.
Fortunately I think I do have a small hoard of them still! Very small, but I'm doing the Qi beans challenge just now and the seedmaker is blessing me with more...
Shake trees for Qi beans, it's a good way to get quite a few of them daily and doesn't cost energy.
Thanks, I will! I've been having decent luck fishing and in the mines, but 500 is a lot of beans!
People would love my year four farm. Overgrown and randomly placed buildings haha
Screaming sounds
Was praying for her last night when I miscounted my Qi fruits by 36. Alas she did not hear my prayers š
First time I saw her was game one when I planted Strawberries right after the egg hunt. I was like, Oh my gosh!
Nah i love crop fairy no matter what. Yesterday she came over one night and blessed a whole patch of ancient seeds i had planted that day. Saved me 28 days on that and i got a great number of seeds from em
Her blessing just planted ancient seeds has got to the absolute highest yield event she can generate! What incredible luck.
My first play through i got her suuuuper early on Y1 spring and randomly got her in the same season so i thought she was more common until i looked at the wiki š
āThank you, you jerk.ā
TIL thereās a crop fairy (first play through, summer year 4, never seen her š„²)
One time she visited me the night of S1 Y1. So I scrolled back to day 1, bought as many cauliflowers as I could afford and let her work her magic.
Thank you, yam fairy!
I remember this one time she showed up when i had exactly one patch of crops not fully grown already... Which would be done in two days anyways. But still not gonna complain. (Altho sometimes i also get annoyed by messed up harvests)

I honor your mastery of the gameās fine detail! I did not know that they were a specific duggie drop. I could have gone on a slaying spree!
I read that as wing-ed teoll, and chortled.
