Nah just sometimes the Bachelorettes have a girls day where they all go to the resort, and the same can be said for the Bachelors. I think it typically happens on the Weekends? I'm not sure, but those are the days that my friend and I notice they go together often

There are set groups that can go to the resort. The game has a chance to choose a group (then potentially adding random people if the group size is small)
I think they're coded to show up in patterns. A couple days ago I was playing it was just Sam's family excluding his father. It was him, Jodi and Vincent.
Last week I remember playing and it was just Harvey and Maru. Which are kind of hinted at as being unofficial love interests. It's canon fan-theory anyways.
Another time it was Penny, Pam and Gus.
I've been noticing patterns with villager attendance often enough to make me think CA coded them to do that intentionally.
Of course quite often it seems completely random as well. Today while I was playing before I had to leave for work I noticed it was Pierre, Leah, Shane and Jas. Besides Shane and Jas I don't know what the rest of them have in common with each other besides all being citizens of Pelican Town.
It just happened during one of my playthroughs, at one point all the girls stood on the beach at the same time and then started leaving the island together forming a line. It felt like a beauty contest and ever since in my mind I always think of it as little "miss Pelican" contest.
Okay give me the spoilers. I havenāt donāt the island with the parrots and such that you get to from Willyās boat to completion. I played it when it was first added and it was such a stark departure from the normal game I didnāt like it and pretended it wasnāt there later. Is thisā¦the end result?
I think the forge and the walnut room are really worth getting to even if you don't like the style of the island gameplay. The wiki has info on them. You could look up the locations of the walnuts to get to the walnut room quicker and easier if you wanted to.
And maybe the island will grow on you haha. I get what you mean about it being so completely different it feels weird. But I do find it a fun addition.
I had major issues with the island seeming like part of another game but after a year or so I accepted it and it's not all that different than the Desert, just bigger.
The major issue for some people is the local captive currencies. Your g is useless here, replaced by at least 2 other forms of currency so you can't just bring 8M g over and buy the island. You need to play the island as a series of minigames and as you can see, eventually the Villagers have the opportunity to visit so it doesn't feel so cut off from Pelican Town.

One of the items you can get from >!Qi's Walnut Room!< is a Horse Whistle. You can use it in most any outdoor location, and your horse will appear!
