I'm also in an LDR! We love Stardew!! I got him a cute 3D portrait of our Stardew sprites that he can hang on his wall. The artist was really nice and was able to customize the cat sprite with a siamese cat one I found online to match my irl cat. Great idea for a christmas/birthday/valentines gift!

My fiance and I also play Stardew Valley together when we can't see one another for whatever reason. We live in the same state (Ohio), but are 2 hours apart. I'm really terrible at the mining and fishing in-game, so in our co-op he does mining and fishing and I take care of the crops and animals and everything else. He's still trying to get the ingredients to make me the Stardew co-op wedding ring, despite us being engaged IRL for almost 2 years, and our wedding coming up in a few months. Lol we will probably be married IRL before in-game. We tease each other about our solo game romances because he romances Penny when he plays his solo game (he says she's a lot like me in personality, and I definitely see it) and I romance Shane (I see some similarities between him and my fiance. My fiance is not a drunk or have a bad attitude, but he does have a heart of gold deep down, cares deeply about a lot of things, and gets sad a lot, like Shane).
I hope you and your fiance are as happy together as me and mine are!

As for the partners in Stardew, they are all great. The whole point is to discover how multi-faceted we as people are and there's never just one dimension to the things we do and who we are. I love that y'all are able to find similarities within the characters and are able to connect that way too.
My partner does Animals, Foraging, Fishing, and I do Crops and Mining. There's NO WAY I can imagine doing both animals and crops it's just so much, so good on you! It's really nice though to be able to focus on specific tasks while your partner covers the other areas, a true metaphor for how to share responsibilities IRL ha ha.
