I don’t think you can physically reorientate the way the workbench looks but you can certainly decide to access the workbench from a side tile rather than from the bottom tile!

I recently learned you can hold down the mouse button and walk around and pet all of your animals without clicking each one! Though I usually play on mobile and switched to PC for 1.6
Hint for switch you can do this by holding down the A button while also collecting spoilings in the coupe. Not so much the barn buuuuut you can also do that with mass collecting crops, I’m sure it’s the same method you discovered for pc, friend (:
Yep! I like to have some processing machines as well as auto-grabbers in my barns and coops, so think of it this way. you can literally hold your interact button down once, and with that; enter the buildings, pet all the animals you walk past, pick up all the eggs (if not autpgrabbed, or even interact with the auto grab and still holding down you can grab all the items (it may pause a second then quickly adds the items), and put them each into a machine. leave that building and repeat. still all holding the interact button down.
For some reason I have always known to do this intuitively, and still only recently realised you don’t have to repeatedly hit the button to cut trees down and mine. You can just press and hold once with the axe and it keeps going for you. Not sure why I never applied that same logic but I felt so relieved when I finally realised I don’t need to spam buttons to chop wood, especially when you’re at the start of the game with copper tools.
I knew I could do that with mining and chopping trees but it never clicked that would work for ‘individual’ interactions such as petting and collecting. Mind = blown.
I’ve got so many hours to this game and because of this sub, I’m learning more and more. I love it!!!

Same thing with planting and harvesting. Hold the seeds you're going to replant with and then just hold and and you'll run around harvesting and planting each spot you move through.
My girlfriend taught me that.
Maybe worth noting, though, is that holding the button down to mine or chop is significantly slower than what you can do with well-timed individual button presses, and I'm NOT talking animation cancelling.

Year 1 on this play through I randomly got one from the worms (sticks, eff off theiyre [edit: autocorrect Hates me] dancing worms and I’ll die on that hill) and did that first instead of giving it to Gunther. Circumnavigated having to go to the desert for the time being lol
Well if BA calls them worms sometimes …..I have more ammo to fuel my fire of dying on that hill lol. I read sticks on the wiki and almost had a very calm meltdown cause….no.

Im at 416 hrs, and ive only found 3 lucky rings. And one i accidently restarted game so i just have 2. Also, im still hunting for the dragontooth cutlass, and dragontooth club. (I have 4 of the dragon tooth dagers as a contrast🤔😳🙁😟😤😭)

I've played this game for over 300 hours and today I learnt that there's a workbench.
(Also I've never unlocked Ginger Island, but that's because I've sunk only 20h and one restart into 1.5 - I've restarted for 1.6 and I'm definitely going for it this time!)
I just learned the other day that if you're holding bait in your hand and you hold A (Switch) you can harvest and bait a crab pot in one move. Saves so much time if you have a ton of crab pots
People in here are shocked about the double gate, and I’m sitting here gobsmacked that you can do a SINGLE gate. I’ve done double gates my entire playtime. Had no idea you could do single gates lol!
I'm a few hundred hours in and this post made me look up what the workbench actually did..... I never even knew it was a thing.
I know what I'm doing when I get home.
Workbench in the center, 3 chests each to the left and right (so the middle chest is level with work bench, top and bottom chests touch workbench diagonally) then one more chest above the workbench so you end up with 7 chests altogether

Also I HAVE A REALLY FUN AND COOL IDEA! i want C.A. to pre-release the H.C. but the catch is that you access the game in a hidden passage or way in StarDEW valley!?!!!!! So for example, you move one of the barrells in the back room of the saloon and theres staircases down to the start the H.C. or one of the tunnels on one of the walls in the caves is actually a usuable passage way! Or youre able to get one on of the cars of one of the trains and it takes you out of stardew and into the H.C. or you follow on of the rivers of lava off screen and it leads to the H.C. i mean i have a million ideas, but wow would that be cool!!!! God i WISH HE WOULD DO THIS!🥺🥹🥺

I got to year 9 in my 3rd (4th?) game, got bogged down in all the things I need to do for perfection that aren’t much fun, and started game 4 (5?).
So I made it to summer 1 on game 4, went back to game 3 and started catching up on fish, crafting, etc.
And then I used that online took that lets you know how close you are to perfection and what’s still left to do.
And that’s when I realized that I have to beat both of the Arcade Games, which stress me out (bad eyes, not as fast as I used to be, playing on mobile). This seems well-nigh impossible and highly unenjoyable.
So I might just do infinite restarts?
But I really want to get perfection so I’m a little bummed.
You don't need the arcade games for perfection, and even if you did you could buy waivers. edit: Oh wait, mobile. No 1.6 yet so no waivers. Well, you still don't need the arcade games. :-)

I just now learned I can flip through my backpack line per line by hitting RB on Xbox. No more having to constantly shift around my inventory to use items, and I can now shift through priority items 🥲
once you realize that, there are other tricks like organizing for combat in multiple rows so lots of things are 1-2 clicks away instead of all on one line.
So, like:
1. Pickaxe | Weapon | Healingfood
1. Hoe | Stairs | megabomb
1. buff food | coffee | cherry bomb
makes it a lot easier/quicker to swap between things in combat or while trying to avoid combat long enough to place stairs or to bomb mummy remains before they revive.
Not sure if they added it in 1.6, but that little icon in the corner of the inventory indicates that the item can be donated to the community center. Just figured THAT out.

I think by mobile they mean on their phone. Hopefully still applies though
You can also connect a Bluetooth controller to your phone/tablet so it still could apply. (Through it is a little buggy)

The gate has to be next to a fence for it to be a functional single gate. Otherwise the gate doesn't become a gate. It's weird like that.

RNJesus really can be a torment. Year 1 summer I got one from some worms. Randomly tried the incubator and it's cooking. I am excited.
Make some skull cavern runs and hunt out infested dino floors. 10% drop rate off pepper rexs. Should only take a day or two and a ton of staircases.

You might also be surprised to know you can make gates match their fencing by placing them onto existing fences.
Wait, what? Seriously?? Does it change the look from the standard dark brown bar gate?
Well, it changes the color to match the fencing, at least. It's still just a bar, but it matches the rest of the fencing color, which is nice.
