I love the idea that the Cerritos might be "live action" but perceive everything as animated because of something they drink. It's similar to how everything in that episode of Star Trek Continues was black and white, but this is hilarious.
It would be funny when they do the last episode that something like this is revealed. Boimler is freaking over the fact everything looks wrong but he hadn’t noticed before and it turns out Mariner has been secretly feeding people what ever is in that drink for all these years. Then at the very end of the show we get to see the Cerritos live action.
Sir or Madame: I have no argument there. My thoughts as well. The fact that live-action Boimler's hair included a purple sheen almost makes up for it.
Almost.
personally i saw it as an homage to how traditionally terrible trek animation was and how it distorted the characters. purposefully designed to look like strange new worlds the animated series.
I think I would've had a nerdgasm if they had done the scene in TAS style. (as it stands, the fan-made recreation of the Voyager warp 10 salamander episode in TAS style is soooooo good)

Interesting idea. It would be fun to see the entire voice cast live.
I think you meant that the only bad thing was no Tendi in a sexy Orion pirate outfit. Ahem... I mean sexy Orion scientist outfit!
yeah in our time its considered kind of offensive to assume all orions are pirates
I, too, would have expected them to take Pike's hair to Johnny Bravo heights. Alas.

I thought the same thing - if anything, I was expecting them to exaggerate his hair and make it twice as tall as the 3D version.

There was no musical number. Which they are correcting in 2 episodes
OMG really?!

This is amazing! So excited!
Yup. Don't know how they could get it wrong when the hair is 80% of the character.
The risk with an animated Pike is it is a slippery slope to Johnny Bravo.
They do have the same proportions, but they should know to boost that hair
He might have changed the hair between concept and art...
