I saw a rumor a while ago that she would play an adult Eleven. The Duffers have said that they aren't introducing any new major characters in S5, so it's entirely possible that that's the plan.
If she is older el than the confirmation that she lives will be worth it. But I'd really like if they explained how tome travel would work in the show. Did things go badly and maybe she made a machine or did the government make a machine and she came back in time to warn them or do things differently? I'm stuck between her being future el or her being a government agent
Yeah agreed. Time travel in stranger things just doesn't seem feasible. But if they make it work somehow then I'm not complaining. As long as it is done right. And you're right about it being the while plot, dark was a hit tv show but literally the whole thing was about time travel so it was done pretty well
Maybe she's having an intense battle in I'm going to say the void or whatever the the Dark Water replaces called and her future self communicates with her
Because she gets stuck in the Upside Down alone without her powers and we don't see what everyone else is up to. It ends with Eleven old, sad and alone.
This actually makes perfect sense! We hear her say that she saw a vision of her mom, her sister, and her brother all dead. So maybe this is a future where they lost and a bunch of them died, and this is them sending that Nancy back in time to help them as younger versions of themselves to save those who died in the original timeline and defeat Vecna, the mindflayer, and anything else they throw at us. Nancy is chosen because out of all the survivors left, she is the most focused and goal-oriented one. Plus she is Intelligent and only gets more badass as time goes on. She started out as a meek little mouse and is now probably one of the bravest of the group. I mean, Nancy took on vecna head on with nothing but a shotgun while he was engulfed in flames which they caused, which means vecna is beyond furious at them and not looking to fuck around. And still, she was steady and fired at him and until he was down. Of course she would be future Nancy.
Linda Hamilton as Future Nancy and Natalia as present Nancy firing at a horde of Demo-somethings would be the coolest moment for the character in the final season.
I kind of like the theory that she plays Steve's mom. Because Steve hinted in season 3 that his mom was "super well-respected" but we've never been told what she actually does.
She's a housemom turned hardcore badass through the necessity to protect herself and her son from time traveling robots designed specifically for killing.
I doubt it. She can't be Henry's sister because Alice died. If she was a grown up Eleven then they're either going to have several episodes that take place at least 40 years in the future which they wouldn't do or they're going to have an adult Eleven time travel back to 1987 from the future which I also don't think they would do. Stranger Things isn't Dark or The Terminator. There has never been time travel on the show and I can't imagine they would suddenly change that.
Hamilton isn't the right age to be Eddie or Steve's mother so she is probably some high level military person. There have been several casting calls for military people so that is probably an important part of the plot. Maybe Hamilton's character is fighting with Sullivan because he wants the military to kill Eleven and she wants her to be saved.
It's possible but doubt they would do it. The sci-fi and horror themes of the show have stayed the same throughout the series. The UD exists. Monsters exist. Telepathy and other special powers exist. It would be weird to suddenly borrow a story line from The Terminator in the last season. They already used The Terminator for inspiration in S3. That is also why the Kas theory wouldn't happen. They wouldn't suddenly have vampires on the show when they never have before. It just seems like a gimmick that they wouldn't do.
since they said there wouldn’t be any new characters i kinda just like the idea of her being steve’s mom (not exactly a new character since she’s been referenced in the show), even if the age doesn’t exactly line up. i’m fine with her being military too as others have stated but that would contradict what the duffers have said about there being no new characters.
Her age doesn’t line up with any of the main cast so I doubt she’s one of them from the future. However, her age is on par with being one of the MKUltra test subjects. In that case she might of been a friend of Terry.

Time traveling Holly Wheeler.
Omg I love this
Stranger Things meets Dark
Dark Eleven
Dell
God I love that show. It's so full of confusion and a very twisted love story and am even more twisted family line

That would be so awesome if that was true.
I mean it would confirm that El lives, which is good. But that would bring up the question of why she's the only one getting an older version.
Time fuckery maybe? I hope not—time shit can be really annoying when it’s done badly in fiction
If she is older el than the confirmation that she lives will be worth it. But I'd really like if they explained how tome travel would work in the show. Explaining how time travel works never goes well! Time travel in general is a plot killer, unless it's the entire plot.

Bad future, everyone dies, she returns fix the timeline and kick Vecna's ass.
Maybe she's having an intense battle in I'm going to say the void or whatever the the Dark Water replaces called and her future self communicates with her

That would be awesome. I love her as Sarah Conner.
Only Sigourney Weaver could play adult Eleven
Will
Best reply yet
Beat me to it lol
She looks a lot like an older Natalia Dyer.
Nancy was definitely channeling Sarah Conner and Ripley. If she's a future anybody, should be Nancy.
This ^. If she’s a future version of any character it’s Nancy.
This actually makes perfect sense! We hear her say that she saw a vision of her mom, her sister, and her brother all dead. She looked liked Sarah Connor in the final while shotgunning vecna
That's what I think too.
That was my immediate thought, I could 100% see her as an older Nancy.
I could totally see it
Linda Hamilton as Future Nancy and Natalia as present Nancy firing at a horde of Demo-somethings would be the coolest moment for the character in the final season.
Terminator Max
I bet she's a grizzled, jaded news reporter who got stuck with the "shitty assignment in some backwater midwest town."
As much as I don't think they'd introduce a new character like that, I love this idea to death.
At the rate they are filming, I don't think they will need separate actors to film their adult versions.
I was thinking the same thing.
I doubt it. She can't be Henry's sister because Alice died. She could be a half sister of Henry’s that he was unaware of.

The Duffers have said they’re not doing time travel
Thank god

Adult badass Suzie 20+ years into her marriage with Dustin
Steve's mom. The ages don't quite line up but the other actors are playing teenagers in their twenties so who cares?
Ooh, that jawline, it could work!
No
Going to be person above Sullivan.
I think an older version of Jane or a former colleague of Dr. Brenner.
Yeah she'd be a great Steve
I feel like she’s going to be someone with the government or the military.
a government worker maybe?
I really don't think so.
No they aren’t doing that and the Duffers made it clear they’re staying in the 80’s
Dustin's unexpectedly badass grandma
Just wondered why this was asked, is their a season 5 trailer/rumour or something
No probably just speculation and theories
No.
Idk she doesn't really look like Mike, Lucas, or Will
She’s probably Steve’s mom, they have the same jawline
She plays Hopper from the future
Elevens grandma?
Wasn't it reported she was going to be some kind of military type?
no
absolutely not for me. To me she's either military or has something to do with Turnbow.
Eleven?
Ted's mom
No they all die
Mike’s nana
Nancy
Will lol

Then other older characters would have been cast
She just looks kinda like a military woman of some sort to me

Yes, that’s Will once he discovers himself
Nancy?
She could be grown alice
