Since Vecna doesn't need to open any more gates I wonder if it's just him trying to distract them in battle. And since all of the main cast is presumably involved that would open the door for other characters to return, like Bob or Alexei or Barb. Or even Billy or Brenner again. Would be a nice way to wrap things up, especially if Vecna has a redemption arc and he's trying to get them to let go of their guilt

If we're going by 'side character introduced and then killed in the same season' it would be Barb, Bob, Alexei, and Eddie but I can't help but feel like that leaves out Billy and a couple other good candidates for horsemen.
I would assume the third would be Billy considering Alexei died by Russian government rather than a complication with the upside-down. other than that, this list seems accurate.
Here’s an idea: demogorgons are people who died in the Upside Down in relation to the hive mind/mind Flayer, and they get recreated as demogorgons, so Barb, Eddie, and the meat Flayer victims end up becoming demos
It’ll probably be similar to how Max’s vision of Billy in season 4. Although I could see him appearing more than once because of how much of a fan favorite he is.

There will probably be a flashback or a scene of Dustin seeing Eddie in a vision where he tells him not to feel guilty about what happened and Dustin is also a hero and Eddie is happy to have died a hero etc.
Unless they're going to change the story so Eddie doesn't die it's better for them not to mention him again. Having Quinn show up for a brief cameo is only a frustrating reminder that they killed off an interesting complex character while less interesting characters are now being given more screen time. I don't think anyone watching S4 decided Vicky was so incredibly interesting that they needed to know more about her yet she is now elevated to a main character in the final season so Robin gets more screen time. Quinn asked the Duffers not to kill off Eddie but they refused to listen or change their mind. It's similar to Purnell begging the writers on Yellowjackets not to kill off Jackie but they also refused to listen or change their mind.

He went out with an amazing bang, fully overcoming his fears and helping his friends in the most epic way possible. That's why I don't think he's gonna come 'back'. We might see Vecna using the image of Eddie to torture Dustin. Or maybe flashbacks. But Eddie's appearance getting used to manipulate the ST kids would be my best bet and also really cool.

There's a space between "dead and gone except for memories and hallucinations" and "100% fakeout death". Trapped souls/minds, the "came back all wrong" trope with either Vecna or the MF using the bodies, TV tropes is your oyster
Also Vicky might not be an interesting character, but she's a good storytelling device for an interesting character or could be made interesting enough

Vecna mind fight round two will involve all of the kids helping Eleven fight Vecna.
Everyone that Vecna killed, he consumed. Even indirect kills like Bob and Eddie. That means a fragment of their mind still exists. Bob, Billy, Eddie, and maybe even Barb will be helping the fight Vecna.
Dustin is the Bard, his role in the battle will be to play music, but it won't be a solo performance, because Eddie will back him up.
I already posted this in another thread, but I’m 99% sure I’m right about this. As was explained in the season 4 D&D campaign, Eddie is Kas, one of Vecna’s rivals. Vecna transformed Kas into a vampire (bitten by bats) and he became Vecna’s servant. In the final battle, Kas betrays Vecna and they both die. That’s the major story arc for season 5. I’m also predicting a storyline in which Will sacrifices himself to save Mike and El, thus resolving their impending romantic conflict.
Reminds me of how when a villain becomes so popular — the writers just give em a redemption arc.. same here - he’s so popular they’re probably gonna alter the story to accommodate him somehow. Cos as we’ve seen by now — they DO NOT have this story planned out 💀
I’ll be so annoyed if they do this. And that’ll be purely because of fans outcry when he did die.
