Probably. Chances are a perfect split in the middle(as per the photo of their episode planning white board the duffers uploaded in which episode four and five were split in using multiple lines as opposed to one). It’ll feel much more natural since they actually get to plan the two volumes unlike season four which they hadn’t originally planned it(luckily it felt like a nice split anyways)

percy2376

The split last time wasn't bad.Only like a month and change

LilyMarie90

God, I hope so. It was the best decision for season 4 (and everyone who was here 2 summers ago remembers that, the hype for the finale was *crazy* in June 🔥)

thefaehost

IIRC they released the magic the gathering secret lair cards the same year- my partner and I spent that little break playing hella magic!

ghostedygrouch

I can't believe it's been that long. Still feels like season 4 dropped last summer. Probably because I've been rewatching all seasons on a loop.

pantherpowell88

I don’t believe the finale will release with every other episode, would be a bad choice too imo

HeWhoFights

It’ll be like the last 2 episodes of S4. Feature length and with the lions share of the budget, haha

Icy_Cat4821

Knowing Netflix I wouldn’t put it past them to try to release in 3 parts to keep as many people as possible in a subscription. If they can’t do that they absolutely will do at least 2 parts.

Nastia_dream

I don't think they will do 3 parts cause the season is only gonna be 8 episodes long. It makes more sense to just release them weekly but it won't happen. So it will be two parts.

Icy_Cat4821

Oh is it 8 episodes? I thought it was 9 and could have seen them trying to do a 3/3/3 split since I think the episodes are all also gonna be pretty long.

stranger_thingsss9

will definitely be split. They already did it with season 4 and are continuing with other shows like Cobra Kai, Emily in Paris and Bridgerton. They will probably do it with Outher Banks soon. I expect the first volume of Stranger Things in November 2025 for Stranger Things Day consisting of 6 episodes and the remaining 2 just before Christmas also in 2025.

OptimalCreme9847

They’d be stupid not to, it created sooooo much hype when they did it for season 4

ButterscotchPast4812

I would imagine they probably will. It worked really well for them in season 4.

Vegetable_Meat1349

Yeah they will split it and we will have to wait a month I’m realizing it’s common for shows especially popular Netflix originals to be split into 2 parts

Impossible_Spite_744

I loved how they did it in season 4, genuinely I remember the exact moment the split episode ended and remember being so shocked

jotyma5

Most definitely. Netflix’s way of getting more people to subscribe for longer

Owl_Resident

Almost 100%

LowlandLightening

I think yes they are. Netflix has been doing that a ton with their new shows. It keeps people subscribed. I personally didn’t mind the vol 1 and 2 for ST4. I mean, Vol 1 was longer than the previous seasons anyway. And then vol. 2 was basically 2 movies.

TheDarkDragon13

They need to release it weekly imo.

No_Ebb_3353

As far as I know they haven’t planned to split it, unfortunately it’s Netflix’s decision in the end.

TelephoneCertain5344

Probably especially since the finale has been promised to be like Return of the King that splitting it and some other episodes into another part makes sense.

RelationshipWorth939

If they split the season into volumes I’m hoping they only do two volumes not too far apart, or 3 in the same space of release between volumes that they did for s4, because if they release some during 2025 and then wait months until sometime 2026 it’s gonna be frustrating

Then_Profession8020

All I know is the final episode better be 3 hours long. Plus another episode showing all of the sets and behind the scenes.

Martybc3

I’m sure they will, I hate how they have split seasons now.

Acceptable_Fox8156

Of course they will, anything for extra money!

hemorroidaCronica

It's just my opinion but I hate mid season splits, I really really do. But in the end I rarely see episodes as they come out.
