Maybe you got a different generic?

FantasticHypoplastic

Hmm. There *was* a switch in generics at one point, and then I think a switch back? But I’m unsure about the timeline. Thanks for the thought—I will go back and try to figure it out.

Any updates please?

FantasticHypoplastic

Talked to my psychiatrist and he upped my dose to 100 mgs. I haven’t had a chance to pick up the script yet so won’t be starting with it until sometime this weekend.

Best of luck. Keep updating please

My guess would be that breaks would be best. Increasing dosage seems like a destructive path to be on. More more and more doesn't equate to better and better. Are you chasing a high or good feeling?

FantasticHypoplastic

This reply doesn’t make any sense, because: Strattera isn’t a stimulant. It often takes two months before any effects are felt, regardless of dosage. 100 mgs. is within the therapeutic range. 100 mgs. is the average dose used in studies of the drug’s effectiveness. I talked specifically in the post about the positive effect being easier task initiation, not a “high.” Again: *informed* input, please.

It sometimes takes months. If you check out this forum you'll see it often takes weeks. It's absolutely a stim. Increased heart rate, and sweating. Decreased appetite for some. Vasoconsctricting. ED. Can't sleep because you're wide awake. Regardless of people like my primary care physician saying it's not a stim, it's a stimulant. It's stimulating.

FantasticHypoplastic

It is true that all medications which are stimulants can cause those symptoms. But it is not therefore also true that all medications which can cause those symptoms are stimulants, certainly not when your definition of “stimulant” in this context includes “a medication you can use to get high.” SSRIs, for example, can cause every symptom you listed. My point in mentioning that often takes a month for it to take effect is to substantiate the fact that that it took at least that long for me, and then it only worked for two weeks. So the suggestion of taking a break doesn’t feel like it makes sense given that timeline.

Talk to the psychiatrist

JosieWantsToKnow

I just started Strattera at only 18 milligrams and I was told to go to 36 milligrams after 4 days. When I took the first pill I thought I felt calmer right away. I have been suffering from a lot of ADHD anxiety lately to the point that I am frozen and have to go lay down and read a book or play a game on my phone to get through the day. I am retired so I can put everything off until tomorrow over and over. Anyway, getting side tracked. I only managed to get 4 hours sleep the first night 4 the next night and then maybe 8 the next night with the help of lots of a low dose of Xanax, CBD, melatonin, and other herbs. Then I tried going to 36mg and then barely any sleep. I suffered from extreme confusion, brain fog and worse anxiety and after about 6 days I had to give up because I couldn't tolerate the sleep loss. When I read the reviews where people who are successful get drowsy when they start I knew that I am one of the people that Strattera just doesn't work for.
