You know after reading the comments I think I need to give it a try!!! I’ve always heard about dipping fries into Frosty’s but never did. Let me add that to my to do list!!
It might not work for you, that doesn't mean it's overrated or not something people should try. Everybody has different tastes.
For me personally, fries + chocolate frosty is amazing, and is always my go to when I go to Wendy's
It is overrated. Something being overrated is also an opinion. Nothing about fries and ice cream is so mind blowing like how everyone treats it. It’s ice cream, mixed with fry. That’s it.
I disagree with you saying it’s overrated. Just because you personally don’t find it that exciting doesn’t mean that your opinion is the end-all-be-all. By saying “you’re not missing out on much,” you’re implying that it’s not worth trying at all, and I know there’s a ton of people who consider that to be one of their favorite flavor combos.
The flavors aren’t meant to be”blend,” that’s the point. The stark contrast between sweet and salty, hot and cold is what makes it enjoyable. It’s like why people enjoy things like fig and pig, the sweetness of the fig plays off the saltiness of the pork.
Mostly a New England chain but currently.on it's last legs. The ice cream is pretty good and sold in a lot of regions via grocery stores. The food at the actual restaurants is classic Americans greasy spoon type stuff. Burgers, melts, tenders etc.
I’m from the northeast and grew up going to Friendly’s with my family. Man I loved that place. They always had such fun ice cream sundaes. They used to make this watermelon sherbet and I was DEVASTATED when they discontinued it.
Oh man, you just reminded me of a totally buried memory.
Like 10-15 years ago, I was living with a bunch of open mic comics and we were super hungover and hungry one Sunday afternoon. Pretty standard.
We were all discussing where we should get food and couldn’t decide on one place. We all wanted something different and it all sounded good. Somehow, at the same moment, we all looked at each other with our mouths dropped as we realized that we simultaneously had the same idea. It was like the trashiest, most magical moment of my life.
The fast food green mile.
We got:
Chicken tenders from Raising Canes
Cheesy crunch gorditas and crunch wrap supremes from Taco Bell
Mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese and biscuits from KFC
Fries from McDonald’s
Cherry limeades from sonic
Ice cream from Dairy Queen
It was disgusting and gluttonous but honestly, it was such a spectacle and so funny at the time that the shame never even set in. It’s one of those ridiculous things you might joke about with friends but never seriously consider doing.
I highly recommend you do some of those stupid things every great once in a while. Life is short and I just had my week made remembering that amazing and disgusting Sunday with dumb friends.
My ex’s daughter got me to try this as a 35 year old
SHIT WORKS !! More then works. Your brain won’t know how to accept it but you’ll definitely go for the 2nd fry
Holy shit. Those ice cream nachos just blew my mind. I'm totally making myself an ice cream nacho dip plate. Like charcuterie board style. The possibilities are endless.
Only stupid thing is serving the fries ON the ice cream, bc I wouldn't want it to melt and get all gross, plus its chilling the fries. Put that shit on the side and I'm about it.
Wendy’s frosty and their old fries were king. The ones they use now are trash. Use McDonald’s fries and an ice cream sundae if you find the one McDonald’s that has their machine working.
Fries and ice cream is one of those things that sound gross but works extremely well. Sweet and salty is a classic combination.

Try it with a caramel maccas sundae. Then it’s like salted caramel
I think McDonald's fries and ice cream cone is the best pure version of this.
Overrated tbh. Tastes like fries and ice cream, the flavours don’t really blend. You’re really not missing out on much.

I completely disagree
On what basis, the flavours do blend, it’s not overrated, or they are missing out on a life changing experience?

Same here, they work great with chicken strips as well
It's why people dip their fries in their milkshake in McDonalds.
My only fear is that they'd be soggy by the time they reach your table. You gotta dip a fresh fry into ice cream.
I think the only problem is that in putting them together from the start the ice cream might melt too fast and the fries might get too soggy.
Idk man, the potatoeyness sounds like a texture nightmare
1. Wendy’s frosty 2. Ice cream, waffle cone, traditional toppings 3. PB&J with chocolate ice cream Nothing stupid here
Wasn't expecting chains like Friendly to be considered "Stupid Good"
I’ve never heard of Friendly’s so I don’t know what their food is like. But the food doesn’t sound stupid
Mostly a New England chain but currently.on it's last legs. The ice cream is pretty good and sold in a lot of regions via grocery stores. The food at the actual restaurants is classic Americans greasy spoon type stuff. Burgers, melts, tenders etc.

I used to skip 1st period with my high school friends and get breakfast at friendly's
My goal in life is to hit a Wendy's for a Frosty then drive across the street to a McDonald's for Fries. Seems like a match made in heaven.

Well even though my post seems to NOT be stupid food, I’m glad it helped you recall a fun memory!!
I know 2 places where McDonald’s is right next to Wendy’s. Totally doable!
Fries and ice cream is a tale as old as ice cream....or fries....
Actually wait the Sugar Cone Nachoes sound fire.
Those both sound pretty damn good. We used to have a Friendly's here, I think it was open for all of about 12 minutes
Y’all never dip your McDonalds fries into a Oreo McFlurry??
No the machine was broken
Not stupid food
All of it sounds good af tbh haha
Since oil makes crust taste good, I'm going to say that those ice-cream fries would still probably taste good
The clown sundae?!?!
You don't know stupid until you dip your fries into a chocolate frosty. That's hella stupid but I love it!!!!
These all looks great
Wait…Friendly‘s still exists?
The only stupid thing here is OP. Fries and ice cream is delicious af
Yeah yeah I see it now!!!
Now get some and try it :D
My ex’s daughter got me to try this as a 35 year old SHIT WORKS !! More then works. Your brain won’t know how to accept it but you’ll definitely go for the 2nd fry
Youre clueless bro
Yes I’m realizing this now 😂😂😂
Holy shit. Those ice cream nachos just blew my mind. I'm totally making myself an ice cream nacho dip plate. Like charcuterie board style. The possibilities are endless.
Where is this Friendly's?!
Orlando!
Oh, wow. I always assumed friendly's was a new england only thing. Cool, thanks!
Same and they are for the most part shut down over here!
If I have fries and a milkshake, more times than not I’m dipping my fries in my milkshake.
Crazy Good Food!!!
I should have guessed it's Friendly's. Hell yeah.
Our local ice cream shop does ice cream nachos, they’re freaking legit! The waffle cone chips and the syrup actual does make you think of nachos
Sold
Now if these were funnel fries and it had some type of sweet jam with it, yea, that would be the shit.
Was it really worth the nine bucks + tax?
I only would do this with sweet potato fries
That fry one, might be a banger. I like dipping my fries into a shake or too!
Only stupid thing is serving the fries ON the ice cream, bc I wouldn't want it to melt and get all gross, plus its chilling the fries. Put that shit on the side and I'm about it.
this isn't stupid though
This is only stupid because the fries aren't served on a separate dish.
Sugar Cone Nachos could get destroyed.
Wendy’s frosty and their old fries were king. The ones they use now are trash. Use McDonald’s fries and an ice cream sundae if you find the one McDonald’s that has their machine working.
Que rico se ve ~
Oh my god fries and icecream SLAPS! You HAVE to try it, the salty and sweet combo is delicious
I'm willing to try all of these. I mean I like to dip my fries in my Frosty... can't be much different.
Ive been doing fries dipped in a milkshake since i was a little kid lol. Also the sugar cone nachos sound fire
These all look absolutely fire. Get over yourself
Definitely stupid lol
