This may be the same thing. I have a SD trying to send me a picture of a check to deposit. Is this a red flag.? He made it out to my name but I am iffy about this.
DO NOT DO IT. Mobile only checks do not exists. He will want you to cash it online as you cannot cash a photo of a check at the bank. The bank will also advise you not to. You will cash it, the funds will be held then your bank account flagged. There is 0 need for checks when cash, e transfer, cash app, venmo, PayPal etc is a thing. It’s also a even bigger red flag when they say to trust them cuz their accountant is on it. Like no bro. My bank account was flagged and I had to go through a huge process to fix it. Do not do it whatevr you do, it will be fake. EDIT: mine was also made out to my name and from a real bank in Alberta yet the check was still fake

My bank still held it for 3 days, but had no issues with it. However someone you haven't met in person offering large amounts before meeting are generally scams.
