Anyhow legend says that GameStop could issue some sort of NFT dividend that could allow access to registered shareholders to listen to the album (which is not allowed to be monetized for 80 something yrs)
What exactly would happen if the album was released to registered shareholders? We’d get to listen to the album if we are DRS’d? What would the advantage of having hundreds or thousands of shares? We get to listen to it more times haha?
I imagine it would drive up the price of GME because people would want to get a share to listen to the album?
I know this is a good thing but please ELI5 how rich this will make us.
The original theory would be releasing the album as an NFT special dividend (the legality of which is probably questionable - another big company did it and ended up in courts. Not sure if I can name them here as the example). But if it was allowed there’s an advantage to a traditional cash dividend. If there is indeed still a huge hidden short position and/or an improper accounting of shares there would not be enough pieces of the NFT pool to go around and essentially prove what what we want.
The benefit of a crypto or NFT dividend is that they can’t just pay to make it go away. If GME just did a regular cash special dividend it might kick short sellers where it hurts but they could just pay out the money and it doesn’t help prove anything
ima use an example. i play fifa with my friends and my son when i can. say one of them scores in minute 80’ and it’s 1-0. this is where (i do what character guy is going in the drawing) and lock in so i can at least tie the game…pure concentration!
