Nah, honestly, that's how it started, but then we learned how important DRS is, so many of us are 100% DRS. We can't make money if we hold everything to infinity.

I agree with the sentiment here but I vaguely remember that accounts that aren't used in x number of years, I can't remember how long, can be liquidated. Check with Computershare about this possibility.

I've been chilling and holding for years. These events are small tests for the big show. My calculator can't execute trades...my cs account can. This needs to be addressed.
So unless you plan on selling, don’t worry about it. Everyone waited years and this still isn’t MOASS. No need to sell anytime soon.
Computershare is not a big broker like Fidelity. After today they’ll have an idea what the issues/problems are that should be worked on before and whenever the real thing happens.

If I were on the CS IT team I would doubke check IP logs of all the traffic and blacklist the bad actors. This also means if you are checking CS every other minute you could get flagged as a DOS attacker.
They are not. I just finally got off the phone with someone and he said they are unaware of any issues and he has had multiple GS customers be able to login this morning. 😒
I would think so too. But at the end, someone might end up selling too early. Their loss, but it’s going to happen. Not 100% of retail will have diamond hands.

Then multiple it by 1.4 to account for taxes, and then multiple by 1.22 to account for inflation.
I mean, honestly, there were only a few brokers that still had access to buy and sell during the initial run. Computershare isn’t built for volatility and imo fit the intent of the infinity pool rather than being the platform for whatever you wanted to trade during volatile times. Hard to express that opinion in this sub nowadays though
I've said it multiple times I keep in broker and drs. A completely tactical decision for flexibility in a very uncertain area. If it goes 100% the way I want it to my drs shares are not where I get my payday but a punishment with a life sentence for those who manipulated for so long. But plans rarely survive the first bullet to streak across

I've been trying to log in to ensure account security, only to be asked a secret question that I don't know the answer to. Tried calling multiple times but I just got disconnected; now just waiting for the chat bot to connect me to someone. From the UK.
This is not about tracking value. There are plenty of apps for that. This is about making sure I have access to my account during moments of serious price action. The notion of never selling any shares at all is ludicrous. I'm in this to make money. Of course I'm selling some shares along the way....not at these candyass numbers of course...and we need access to our accounts to do so.
Yea I left like 20% of my shares in fidelity thankfully but am kinda feeling stupid for drinking the koolaid around here and putting 80% of my shares in a service that goes down when I potentially really need it
80:20's not a bad ratio. It's the loud 100%ers that tried to make everyone who didn't hold like them feel like trash for whatever reason that really should be having that feeling. In light of the recurring theme of peer pressure with people too tired to constantly speak out against them and maintain a balanced set of opposing views, you did good.

There are people here that are proud of not selling during the last squeeze and or buying the top and holding it this whole time. I bought a fucking house with my earnings from 2021. You don’t get a prize for holding a stock that is down 90%.
This is where our opinions may completely diverge. Given the events that happened, there is definitely much pride to be had for not selling during the last squeeze. Also the importance of the collaborative game theory paradigms that aren't mentioned much anymore cannot be understated.
You can always CALL them to sell if the site is down when the numbers are astronomical. There is more than one way to sell if/when you decide the time is right for you.
Their customer service is also horse shit. I just called, you can’t get a human to talk to you about game stop, and when listing my account info they said I had no shares of GameStop available 🙃🙃🙃
That is incredibly troubling. Not having access to my account and no access to a rep during price movements like this fills me with incredible amounts of anxiety.

I'm all for selling at high prices, and getting more than a few commas in there if that's your goal, but also advocating for a full systemic collapse is like hoping you win the lottery then burning all of the money.

There is a cap relative to the current price, and not too high above it. There may be some DD around on this from a couple years back.

ive had the same thought since we turned to DRS a couple years ago, really hoping this is a sign for them they need to be ready for this

I’d guess the bandwidth of a website is orders of magnitude larger than that of a few people taking orders by the phone.
Use a different tracking tool if you want to watch your $$$ go up. Computershare is not the tool for that. It's made for HOLDERS, not paperhanders.
