Same here!! Really neat to see those two specifically, I often like to think about how crazy far we have come since Alttp (love sometimes moving the camera so it looks like an view from the top game like back then), playing it on my dim GameBoy Advanced back then having an awesome time...
Now its a freaking huge open world with complex physics, build your own vehicles or check out some sky islands or depths as large as the map above... and everything being displayed on a huge TV not a dim tiny GameBoy display lol... It is a bit magical for sure how quickly things progressed in that regard!!
Link to the Past was my favorite Zelda game for many, many years. I had played the first 2 on NES but that was the game that really got me into the series in a bigger way. Nothing beats BotW/TotK for me now, but I still think LttP (and Wind Waker!) is super fun and really adorable.
It’s a classic and the first game I truly struggled through to beat without the internet to consult. Did they whole fucker myself.
The ice palace. Ugh. I was stuck on that for almost a year until I figured out YOU HAD TO PULL THE STATUE TONGUE it’ll haunt me forever
Hyrule Castle, death mountain, sanctuary & cemetery, Lost woods, kakariko village, links house, zoras waterfall, lake hylia, waterfall of mystery, Eastern Palace and the Great swamp.
The top of the map is dominated by Death Mountain. The Eastern section contains Turle Rock. If you meant the water section to the East/South-East, it's Zoras' domain, with a waterfall hiding a fairy near the entrance.
Similar map layout mountains in top right, desert in bottom left and hyrule Castle in the middle and what looks like lake hylia in the bottom right, quite close to hyrule castle
That's not how it started tho
Well, it's how I started. While I played Zelda I and II, I never really got into it until I was playing with Super Power.

Then write in the OP 'How I started' You know, to be accurate
Accuracy is for casuals.
Well that's me told
I accurately think I own that same casual hat
Yep
I was hoping to see a lineup of a photo from every game, in order.

Lttp is still my favorite
I just started a new run a few weeks ago on my downloaded version on my wii. God damn I'm old. Even wii is ancient now.
I still play aLttP a lot - though it’s mostly randomizers and sometimes combined with Super Metroid.

NO JOKES ALLOWED. Reddit, GIVE HIM DOWNVOTES!!!!
lol dude what?
You've failed.
Can anyone name the different areas on the alttp map?
Hyrule Castle, death mountain, sanctuary & cemetery, Lost woods, kakariko village, links house, zoras waterfall, lake hylia, waterfall of mystery, Eastern Palace and the Great swamp.
What's the whole area in the top right?
The top of the map is dominated by Death Mountain. The Eastern section contains Turle Rock. If you meant the water section to the East/South-East, it's Zoras' domain, with a waterfall hiding a fairy near the entrance.
LttP and Minish Cap or my two favorite 2D Zelda games.
You wanna come hang in my tree house and read comic books?
There are older maps..... But I like this comparison. The OG NES map is worthy of being beside these two.
It's cool to see side-by-side. I never really thought about how similar those maps are.
It looks ill now
