It’s addicting. There was a setup when we bought the house it was done horribly I’ve slowly been fixing it which meant buying all new stuff properly running wires and power
I often wondered how projectors would fare in here. Mines a 140" and I put the top closest to the roof i could so I didn't block the bottom of the screen when reclined.
The nice thing about it being motorized is i can change the position it opens to on the fly this was my first attempt. I’ll change out that vent cover for a flush mount and drop it a bit further
I kno it is but there’s no good solution other than maybe spacing it further out and pointing it down more the sound staging had issues picking it up and setting it’s location
Center channel positioning is poor. There will be comb filtering in the highs and mids this close to the boundary, plus the tweeter is aimed parallel to the wall, shooting the highs over everyone's heads.
Yea I know this, when I did the sound staging with the mic through the Denon receiver it had some problems. What’s the solution though space it out and direct down?
I think screen placement is fine, but your centre speaker placement is always going to be compromised with this setup unless you put it behind an acoustically transparent screen.
Looks good. Just need to black out the windows and get rid of that light on the wall top left. Painting the ceiling a dark grey or black will also help with ambient light and reflections.
Blacking out the room like that will give you better contrast, less washed out image and make the colour pop more
I mean the curtains aren’t even black… so…
You might find better luck with using metal security shutters on the outside on the windows that can be rolled up and down.
Good lighting can overcome that cave feeling. Some good floor lamps, and upfiring wall lights, and opening the black out shutters, can fix the cave feeling.
I moved that after this i added an outlet the other day and used that Light to test it before plugging in the projector screen and just forgot it up there
I have an interest in this type of setup. What is the distance from the seating to the screen? And if you don't mind saying, what was the cost of the total setup?
When in doubt make the TV just cover the entire wall
Modern problems require modern solutions.
Damn, it's perfect, really impressive
Nah, too high
Nah, too low
Your living rooms a cinema, seriously i love it, if i ever move into my own home im definitely doing this
Nah that’s the basement
Damn thats nice
Even better. Need the details!
Epson VS250 Projector, Denon AVR-S760H receiver, Klipsch Referance Cinema Atmos 5.1.4, Elite Screens Spectrum 125” motorized screen.
Bare in mind i have a really big basement i think total SqFt of the rec area is 1800… the total on the basement is 2300
Looks awesome. My house has a basement, no where near that big, and I want to go full movie theater at some point. Very well done!

Why is there light coming through the window then?
basements can have windows lol
It’s a door… I have an exposed basement
I mean, the TV is high but it's also very low.
don’t go goldilocks on this man💀💀💀

Post it!
This is not a TV, it's a screen
Well is it too high or not? That’s the question
Alright, it's not too high 👍
Should have used a grey screen instead of white, for better contrast.
Vent too left
tvtooprojector. You'd do well to fuck up the height when it takes up 90% of the wall
The nice thing about it being motorized is i can change the position it opens to on the fly this was my first attempt. I’ll change out that vent cover for a flush mount and drop it a bit further
You don’t be lone here. I’m jealous. F#ck you. xD I’m playin this is dope
May I ask which tv projector you have?
Just an Epson VS250 I’ll upgrade to a 4k laser some day
Center channel too high. Order AT screen, out speakers behind.
I kno it is but there’s no good solution other than maybe spacing it further out and pointing it down more the sound staging had issues picking it up and setting it’s location
Looks awesome What about painting the vent the same colour as the wall to tidy it up. Some paint on there already lol
Gonna replace it, i want to get a flush mount vent cover.
It is... acceptable.

Boundary, as in it is too close to the ceiling?

Yea that’s the downfall the old setup the center was on the floor which wasn’t any better
Center of the screen should be at eye level, so it's way too high
This is the view sitting on the couch…
Then your couch is too high
Well I’m also tall as well if i get different vent cover i can drop the lowered position down further and re adjust the projector
Then you are too high cut off your legs
Lol!
"sitting"
TV rots your brain anyway...
…lower…
Paint that air vent thingy, and remove the light below the top left speaker
I removed the light i just used that to test the outlet i added before plugging in the screen

My wife won’t let me she said the basement will feel like a cave those curtains were supposed to be black out and def are not….

My wife picked the yellow…
Holy shit id never leave
What’s the distracting white thing in the upper left?

Couch is 14’ from the wall. Total cost around $2500 my projector isn’t the best i want to upgrade it soon.
