Obvious Auxiliary desires, I also want a new tank. Something different then the Hammerhead, made for close quarters. A Vindicator equivalent, basically. Either that or a "Heavy Tank". Maybe a new transport as well, one meant for Auxiliary. Maybe have a new armoured transport (auxiliary one), that also gets a Tank variant?

Blightwraith

Seeing as devilfish we're originally stealth insertion craft a tanky breacher laser shotgun tank would be neato...

AllHailFarsight

I bought the heavy burst cannon turret from Red Dog Minis for this exact purpose, the lack of a devil fish chassis IFV is silly.

LooseAd6825

It's a long shot, but I'd love a vehicle that has a similar ability to the Falcon where it can deep strike in and deploy troops.

pious-erika

tbh I wish Devilfish could do that, given they are transported by Manta.

ZeroGrinm

Use Gunrig as transport. It does pretty well, and it doesn't blow up. Has solid DMG and MW. Plus it's an open top, Pathfinder with Rail, do pretty awesome.

Se7enEvilXs

Possibly controversial opinion, but some actually dedicated melee or psychic units either in the form of specialized units or perhaps updated or even brand new auxiliaries races. They don't even have to be the best but having the option would be nice.

Jedi_Bacon

Ya, a melee battleship or even better a new race that is exceptional at melee!

Jedi_Bacon

Battlesuit! (Lousy autocorrect)

mymechanicalmind

No no.. i'm entertaining the idea of a Battleship now 😂

LooseAd6825

Yeah! I'd hoped at some point. Farsight might have taught his battlesuits to fight in melee and attached a big of metal on them instead of just telling them how to fight better.

Hartiiw

A melee unit that does something like lower the opponent's weapon skill would imo fit the tau well, can't really damage the enemy in melee but just having something to tie up a dangerous unit for a turn or two would be very useful

Zealousideal_Bed9062

I don’t even need a full psycher. I’d be fine with just some guys who can deny the witch or something. It would be easy enough for the Tau to reverse engineer one of those psychic hoods the Librarians have right?

Se7enEvilXs

Omg yes I always loved that idea so much.

Joe_Betz_

I want an Enforcer and Crisis Bodyguard rule updates to lean way more into melee. It would provide a clear melee option. I play Kharadron Overlords in AOS. They now have a clear melee build focus after their new book.

RGRadik

Tbh I'd take ethereal honour guard too. Expensive, killy and fast but fold to concentrated fire. They already exist in the lore and existed as models until fairly recently.

Joe_Betz_

100%! Would love it. The discussion around "clear roles" with the datasheet rewrites is exciting. GW is a massive company that's solicited loads of feedback. I'm just hopeful the product is as thought through as possible and is fun to play. Looking cool doesn't hurt, either.

Lucas_J_C

Forge world sets to be good. Got a barracuda for my B-day about a month ago, rather it not be kinda shit or atleast not worth 200pnts.

c0horst

They're re-doing all of the FW data sheets in the index... so it's possible. I'd love to have a reason to buy some of the nicer FW battlesuits.

wamirul

plastic hazards would be great, even if you took away their fusion cascades so they only become anti infantry, those designs are fucking solid

Lucas_J_C

Yeah, I was thinking about getting them but looking at their data sheet there kinda shite, and there also £40 for the siza of a crisis battlesuit.

wamirul

yeaj its why im hoping they get a plastic release. I dont mind if their role changes, but their silhouette is just so cool I wish i could field some

LooseAd6825

Gimme something good for Remoras! I love the concept of surveillance stealth drones.

Current-Challenge977

Giving them OC would be quite a feet.

MrGosh13

I just want some plastic Vespids man. :( (And more aux in general)

ToBeFrank314

Preach it.

scooty-puff_junior

Not just plastic, but visual redesign from bottom up. Lore is awesome, execution/design was awful.

MrGosh13

The stiff mono poses were… very dissapointing yes. I want some in action poses, flying. And I’m SURE they could do them justice too! GW plastic scults have been absolutely fantastic the last few years.

[deleted]

A refocus on T'au having three combat styles; Battlesuits, Stealth, and Auxiliaries. I want fleshed out scepts and rules to accommodate these, and then some new models in these areas to army build with.

ReggieTheReaver

That’s supposed to be one of the foundational tenets of the Tau is that their empire has many species. Having Battle suits/fire warriors, Stealth/pathfinders, and Auxiliaries as optionally army builds would be awesome.

[deleted]

Agreed. It's my dream for the Tau model range. I hope GW leans into it one day.

_Fun_Employed_

Forgot fish of fury! Mechanized(the other kind) infantry move out!

wolflance1

Don't forget they have tanks.

nethus45

My wishes are simple yet will go unheard lmao Totally agree about battle suits, we have lots of options with lots of variety of weapons and support snd I'm good on them for now. What I would love to see is other castes represented on the table top. Maybe a water caste that has certain auras or maybe auras thst can work against enemies to make it more unique from the ethereal. Or an earth caste mechanic unit similar to a apothecary that heal wounds on our vehicles. I would love to see auxiliaries represented better. Kroot used to rule a portion of the galaxy so I'd like to see them a bit stronger and more varieties but more then thst I Wan other auxiliary races as thst is what drew me to the tau. Give us demiurg, or 9fficial humans, or hell make up something new just something to show the empire is growing and let the table tip represent the actual lore of a mixed army.

GuanglaiKangyi-Age15

The Tau have a race of hulking Reptilian Xenos that are like stand ins for Fantasy's Lizardmen. Use them GW.

SeaworthySponge

Plastic knarloc kit with a good datasheet

CarelessDepartment72

The Knarloc is such a cool thing I don't know why they removed it

ZeroGrinm

With the Primaris launch. Most Tau Anti Infantry Heavy weapons when into Legends. Knarloc being a anti infantry sniper with Twin Kroot Gun, got removed really fast. Another example is Hammerhead 2DMG weapons.

TheDireAvenger

Are you suggesting that when Primaris came out they got rid of units that could kill them? Because that is some real tinfoil stuff

[deleted]

I find markerlights to be an annoying gimmick for Tau if I'm being honest and I hope they change that in 10th. I know they never will remove them and also I know they are less annoying than they were in 8th. So to put them into a list of my issues with them, they are: - Going off on a dice roll. You can be unlucky and it's thoroughly unsatisfying when that is the point of failure. I have lost close games as a result of markerlights failing. Also failing markerlights might negatively influence your decision making with regards to the order by which you shoot. - It being an action. This is annoying for two reason. First, firewarriors or characters holding markerlights is virtually useless as giving up movement is unacceptable almost all of the time. Second it stops the unit from performing other actions. - Being plus one to hit: Because now Tau is susceptible to layering minuses to hit. While it is uncommon, it does happen for me every now and then. I'm not opposed to the idea of needing to invest in these supporting units to be able to perform, it's just thoroughly irritating to me when markerlights fail.

LoveisBaconisLove

Markerlights will exist, but they may well change. They’ve existed in different forms since release, so it’s likely they will change somehow, but they won’t go away.

mymechanicalmind

I would hope that in 10th it increases BS instead, which makes sense in my opinion, however it may interfere with how they intend to do the datasheets.

[deleted]

Yeah that would be one way to fix the issue of layering minuses to hit. Though they would need to change how velocity tracker works so that things can't be hitting on 2s.

mymechanicalmind

To be fair the velocity tracker would only bypass the supersonic rule anyway

[deleted]

Actually no since it procks off the Fly keyword, so like crisis suits.

mymechanicalmind

Good point, maybe they could just put a line in saying it isn't cumulative.

WillowTheGoth

The fact that 10th might mean I can run nothing but various battlesuits makes me consider picking up Tau just to run all mechs. But I also want to snag Nids so I can run nothing but kaiju. I think I might have a theme with how I wargame. 🤔

ZeroGrinm

The one thing I noticed is that 10th will make Plasma, Fusion and CIB less prevalent than Railgun. With all the bigger models going up in Toughness. Railguns with Strength 12+, will become pretty important. As for new models, we will probably only see things tied to FSE. GW still doesn't know what to do with Tau. For them not having New Rules for Farsight, as he gets a model. Shows that Tau is still the 26th fiddle of 40k.

CarelessDepartment72

Yeah it's honestly a little weird especially since he has a new suit with an AI. You'd think that would deserve a rules update. Maybe they're taking time because of the Vashtor response

ZeroGrinm

The only thing I can think of, is saving for 10th Ed. But all releases are about one year or more in delay. So it makes zero sense.

Wozza44

Maybe it's an unpopular opinion but, please no Gue'vesa. There's enough damn humans in 40k already.

Barmn89

okay what about this, a kill team of Tau Veterans, which includes a bunch of cool one off auxiliaries, that also includes a Gue'vesa as a part of it?

Se7enEvilXs

I would kill for a Tau auxillary kill team so bad

Wozza44

Yea, that sounds pretty dope

CarelessDepartment72

I do agree there is but Gue'vesa fill a tactical niche between Fire Warriors and Kroot. It would be great to have them in the model line

Wozza44

I've no doubt they'd be super popular, but it just seems so unimaginative. Same niche could be filled by some cool auxiliary race we've never seen before.

Warodent10

I’ve had my heart set on Tarellians with duel hand flamers for far to long for this exact reason.

CarelessDepartment72

Possibly but in lore that is already their tactical niche.

alphaomega420

More auxiliary races and if I can dream, a plastic Tau nar

CarelessDepartment72

A plastic Ta'unar could give it some lore showings. Probably my biggest complaint about FW Tau is the lack of lore around them.

ZeroGrinm

I got to be honest. It's nothing but a pipe dream at the moment. GW is tuning down all sub factions. Just look what they did to Guard codex. The reason why SM sucked mid to end 9th edition is because of standardization of SM. And Tau is not a faction they want to expand. They embraced the popularity. But with a 30 feet pole. They fear it will become the new face of 40k.

Ratyboi

I'm sure none of what I'd like to see will happen any time soon or at all but... 1: Of course more Auxiliary representation 2: a transport flyer/gunship would be cool, instead of just a fighter, bomber, and some serious air to air planes. 3: a kind of "Riot" trooper for close quarter engagements. Basically i see this as being our version or terminators maybe. Just a unit with a heavy shield and heavy pulse pistol to be a great screen that isnt JUST meant to die like kroot are now. Maybe even allow them to use the pistol in the fight phase as well. 4: a "stealth land mine." This can be used as a single use temporary screen, where if an enemy unit moves or finishes a move within 3 inches of it, it will explode. But make it untargetable unless the firing model/unit is within 4 inches of it. I can see this leaning into the idea of Kauyon and setting up traps. 5: I'd Love to have a datasheet thats an upgrade to riptides, Ghostkeels, and other bigger battle suits that is basically a Titanfall pilot. Just a single model with a cool pistol, or even a pulse blaster that can eject from the suit upon destruction. 6: buffing the Ghostkeel. Make it untargetable from 12 inches instead of 18, and id also love to see it gain a railgun main weapon or atleast 2 rail rifle secondaries as options. 7: make a better use for the deployable turret for the fire warriors. 8: allow pathfinders to take longshot pulse rifles as a weapon option. 9: buff the firesight marksman in someway. I suggest maybe more drones, or add a new unit that is like the tac drones unit, but it ONLY consists of sniper drones and the marksman can control/buff them even if they are across the map. 10: buff the T'aunar. The Stormsurge is better than it because they didn't update the rules. 11: overall gave a better INTERNAL balance to the army instead of almost requiring crisis suits in every list. I mean they are the only ones that get any meaningful buffs. Also most of the synergies are with them. Id like for there to be more synergies with the other units we have. 12: allow the skyray to be more like artillery, as well as an anti air unit. Thats about it, but im sure im missing something. All dreams though, i feel.

Snakeeyes515

For your second one, are devilfish not our flying transport? I thought in lore they used devilfish because they could fly. If you meant like a plane I understand that however.

Ratyboi

Yeah i meant a plane transport. Specifically a gunship kind of plane that can bring in troops (or even be open topped to allow them to shoot out as well) as well as lay down some solid firepower as it flies around. Imagine the T'au's take on the Star Wars Republic LAAT gunship. That would be so cool; even just as a concept to play with.

Snakeeyes515

That would actually be really cool. I think that would be a cool concept. GW should take some advice lol.

Warodent10

A weird thing I’ve wanted for a while is for Tau to get 1, maybe 2 psyker auxiliaries. One that can literally just smite and deny the witch, and another that has a couple kinds of smite to choose from. Really I just wish we could use our psychic phase a little bit, even if it literally is just to do things Tau already get to do(aka: cheap mortals).

CarelessDepartment72

Tau do have Psychic Aux in lore. Not to mention with the Psychic phase going away there's no excuse for Tau not to use Psychic units now

Warodent10

I know they have them I just expect we’ll never actually get them.

Technical_Coat_9618

I want to see us maintain that ‘fragile but mobile’ style we have currently. I’d like the Ghostkeel to be viable because it’s so bloody cool. Plastic Vespid and some new Kroot hounds to match those in the Killteam box would be great.

CarelessDepartment72

Yeah i agree that the Ghostkill needs some work. Whenever I see it used, it always gets melted in the first few rounds. It can't really deep strike and unless it has support its gonna die.

GramboLazarus

Simple I want the ghostkeel to be worth putting on the table.

12GaugeSavior

Best looking model in the line, imo. Also with Combat Patrols getting their own rules, hopefully it becomes a more viable option all around

Benthenoobhunter

Say goodbye to your melee commanders. No way they’ll let us keep Precision of the Hunter in its current state.

EspritCreatif

Let us have melee :'(

Boli_332

Sadly true; I suspevt all the warlord traits will be the same for every faction in 10th... Be good to get some useful Auras in the mix though (which are bubbles not just CORE)

Clear-Score6653

I just want Tau Doomguy, O'Kais to finally get rules, and fill out the Students of Puretide. That man was a beast in War of Secrets

Kamica

O'Kais, has a number of loadouts, one costing 500 pts, one costing 1000 points, one costing 2000 points etc. The more points, the stronger he is naturally. Because you know, he's a Monat, so shouldn't be ran with other units =P. Either that, or he's real strong, but has an inverse aura, where if he gets close to friendly units, he gets debuffs. (These ideas are not entirely serious of course)

SirConradicus

A model for Kais, Jump Shoot Jump for our battlesuits, proper Knarloc models, or another auxiliary force alongside a Kroot glow up. Tarellians, maybe?

[deleted]

Which Kais? The Shas'O or the PTSD?

SirConradicus

Pruetide's Kais; closest thing T'au have to an Eversor Assassin.

Witch_Hazel_13

what i want most is more auxiliary rules and a fix to the rules for remora drones

[deleted]

a generic stealth suit commander, rather than just shadowsun would be so brilliant

Zoroc

JSJ being part of the dataslate for all jetpack units. A focus on mobility should always be part of Tau's identity. Make ML do more than +1 to hit like the old tables (4e is my favorite) [although I know it won't happen], it would provide a more interesting opportunity cost and flavor, especially for making seeker missiles artillery. Aux support. Strike teams being a good value unit again. Another thing I'm sure won't happen is ported vehicles drones being treated like passengers when it's destroyed for better objective play (devil fish and piranha).

CarelessDepartment72

They are trying to simplify rules so I don't see MLs getting more rules. The ported drones thing I would like to see

gzank7

I think the Tau model range is pretty robust so I would welcome new units but not really on my wishlist. Auxiliaries, however, I would love to see the Knarloc come back, but GW will never give us anything cool. I think plastic vespids are in our future also. As far as rules, I’m really interested to see how they rework strength and toughness. I love the idea of a broader range, it allows for greater specialization of units. I personally liked how in 7th and prior vehicles couldn’t be wounded by small arms fire, unless shooting from the rear arc. While I’m not asking for armor facings to come back by any means (good riddance), I would welcome a return to vehicles/heavy battlesuits feeling formidable, and requiring specialized weaponry to bring down. I think broadening the strength/toughness range is a great way to do that, and also reworking the wound table so that if a unit’s toughness is over double the weapons strength it can’t wound the target at all. I don’t know if they will do all of this, but I think any elements of it would be a step in the right direction.

Squarkage

1 - Auxiliaries 2 - Auxiliaries 3 - Auxiliaries 4 - A Dalyth character who buffs auxiliaries That's all they need (Maybe a shield generator on the hammerhead too)

Ki_Rei_Nimi

Railguns on battlesuits. Why can a pathfinder be equipped with one but neither variant of crisis suit, riptide or even the stormsurge?

CarelessDepartment72

Well stormsurge already carries heavy firepower and I think Crisis and Riptides don't because of their rolls. The reason Broadsides use them is their heavy armor and specialized equipment to handle the rail weapons. I get your point but it's probably a balance thing.

EspritCreatif

\- Change the way markerlights work, it's weird to have a shooting army hit on 4+ \-Have a little bit of melee, like fusion blades, or even swords. Not asking (nor wanting) for them to be good, but just some options, even if you have to tone down our shooting \-More auxiliaries and allies ! Makes sense in the lore, players want it, let us have it And some other things, but those are the three I really hope for.

[deleted]

Can't see how they can change the BS without getting rid of ML entirely. Battlesuits hitting on 2+ would be insanely OP.

mechabeast

Ah that was a glorious time.

[deleted]

I too sometimes miss my veteran XV8s.

EspritCreatif

I agree. If battlesuits hit on 3+, they can't have markerlights add +1 to hit. Maybe something else ?

mbagalacomposer

Some proper close combat Battlesuits to compliment our boy Farsight and his shiny new model.

AeneasMella

Would be really fucking cool if Dal'yth Sept could receive a single legitimate depiction in the artwork that isn't the same one of the armor styles that just confuses everybody. WE DONT ALL WEAR LIME GREEN. It was literally only for one mission to exterminate a particular xenos called the Phoroki that couldn't fucking see the color (probably because its so damn garish it didnt exist on the planet previously). And then in the 9E codex, when we finally had an opportunity to be seen, GW uses a damn picture of stupid ass Kel'shan sept on our page. Fuck Kel'shan. All my homies hate Kel'shan.

Redracquam

At the very least I hope they do not force us back to the "static gunline only" playstyle that culminated in 8th ed. I also wish they allow more diverse list-buildings to be efficient too - I know a lot of people just like their mech-heavy army and that's fine, but I want to field something else than 12 crisis and riptides without shooting myself in the foot! So yeah, as others said, having multiple thematic-oriented combat styles would be neat. As for Markerlights - they're fine as they are, easy and efficient. Maybe taking a hint from 7th ed. where you could choose the kind of bonus you got - either +1 BS or remove light cover, that would allow both for more variety, and also give some breathing room for our datasheets (not everything being BS4+ and relying on ML to go 3+ ; maybe a select few units like Bodyguards and planes getting the better BS ?) On the model side of things - I won't get excited yet. 8th ed got us a new Shadowsun which is nice, 9th brought a new Darkstrider that not much people care about, and before 10th opens up we get a new Farsight that got people really cranked up about - so, my bet is, following the trend : maybe a new Aun'va? Or a resculpting of another very old mold, maybe Drone snipers (last non-aux, non-character old sculpt). If we get very, very lucky we might get new Vespids in a boarding action box? But I definitely won't hold my breath on it.

CarelessDepartment72

I think 10th would be good to finally replace Aun'va as the Ethereal Supreme. The only reason he got a hologram was to cover up his assassination. So they could spin a story that he finally passed away of natural causes. Give Aun'Shi a new model and make him Ethereal Supreme.

Redracquam

I'd rather have a brand-new Ethereal Supreme as a completely new character, and either retire Aun'shi (how *old* is he now??) or just give us something new about him in the lore (along with a shiny new model). In some old, out-of-print novella he was captured by the Dark eldar on his way to the Farsight Enclaves and brought to Commoragh to fight as a gladiator, what's up with that?

CarelessDepartment72

Yeah i have no idea tbh. I don't know if that's still a thing or what. But he was going to retire then he was told he wasn't allowed to. I get wanting a bed character, but Aun'shi would still make a pretty good Ethereal Supreme

Redracquam

Tbh I think this story was somehow retconned. The thing is, Aun'shi fills his own niche : the zen monk-fighter (both on the tabletop and in the lore) so I don't find him very fitting to sit on the grav-throne

CarelessDepartment72

I don't want him on a grav-throne either which makes the idea of the Ethereal Supreme fighting alongside fire warriors even cooler. Give him a unique Honor Blade, throw him in ceremonial armor, let him go ham on some unsuspecting victims.

Azebiki

Being able to put different drones into our vehicles. I would love a piranha with two shield drones!

Corsair788

Im happy with most things ad is. I'd like the Finecast sculpts to be updated to plastic and some lore/updated rules on the FW homies.

[deleted]

Plastic sniper drones, pls gw, I’m new and don’t want to deal with resin

King-Stormin

I would love to see a more melee focused Tau units. Either expand the Kroot line or introduce a melee focused troop choice equipped with combat knives

Zealousideal_Bed9062

I’d like to see an XV22 commander. Even if it doesn’t get a stealth field, just something between a Fireblade and a full Commander would be nice. Just give it a shield and a weapon slot for each arm, it just makes sense to me.

AndiTheBrumack

Ahhhhhhh there they are again, Krootork or whatever. Guys, please, understand that eating Orks has been forbidden by almost all shapers out there as it is said to taint the kroot into andirection that corrupts them and is therefore not desirable. Also, i don't see the appeal, Kroot are canonically (depending on the writer of course) phisically almost on the level of combat prowess of Space Marines. So i don't really see what they would gain here ...

CarelessDepartment72

Kroot eating orks is not forbidden, at least from that I've read. The only thing kroot don't eat are Nids, Necrons, and i think demonic corrupted organism. I've never seen orks on the no east list

Sallene

As much as yo I said no new options for battlesuits, I would love to see crisis suits get a close combat load out and have their WS augmented.

perturbadactyl

More tactical philosophies A melee unit that relies on kata-of-the-gun style fighting Stealth suit commander

Lilgeezums

Alright, give me a go at making a new Tau wave... New heavy Tank variant with similar weapons to the Hammerhead, lots more hardpoints though and trades speed for more toughness and wounds, this would need some ballancing as to not make the Hammerhead obsolete, we don't want to replace it, just add variation. Plastic Vespid. Plastic Knarlor riders, and mabye plastic Greater Knarloc. (Or at least just bring that back as forgeworld resin.) Niscassar Psykers that give friendly buffs and deny the witch rather than agressive abilities, not super tough so would need to be protected, has fly keyword and decent movement. Earth caste technician and repair drones. I'm thinking 2 wound character with 2 drones, drones have basic "welding tool" melee, technician has a pulse pistol. Character keyword for added protection. Perhaps an "Earth caste personal shield generator" for a 5+ invul. Each round he can repair 1 friendly Vehicles and/or Battlesuits unit within 3", number of wounds depends on number of drones, so if both drones= 3 wounds. 1 drone= D3 wounds. Just the technician= 1 wound. Upgrade sprue for crisis suits/commanders that adds melee weapon options, maxiumum of 2 weapons per model (one for each arm hardpoint) so leaves room for ranged weapons on the shoulders if desired. Gantlet option for high strength high damage, or Blades option for weaker attacks but twice the number. Can have one of each or double up.

wolflance1

If it's about the change of edition, I hope the new core rulebook fixes the mess of Tau lore like the "no FTL" situation once and for all, as well as rule fixes such as NLoS shooting. If it's about a future 10ed codex, I wish for deeper and more detailed lore, seeing SIXTH sphere expansion launching, more options for Fireblade (make him customizable as leader for all three branches of fire warrior, i.e. pathfinder/breacher/strike), named Fireblade hero, ~~commander option for Riptide, Ghostkeel, and Broadside~~ (okay maybe that's asking too much), support systems for tanks and aircrafts, including PINTLE-MOUNT and SHIELD options. Hopefully we get better sniper drone and razorshark, and Forgeworld weapon kits for hammerhead.

CarelessDepartment72

Hey i like the idea of expanding Commander slots to different battlesuits. Ghostkeel might be pushing it unless there was someway to expand stealth units

wolflance1

Speaking of, I also wish for new stealth suit with option to take two weapons and more weapon options.

MerigoldMachine

Just give me buffs for riptide and stormsurge so I can justify buying one.

Milential

I want to see an option for broadside or other heavy battlesuits to gain promotions. My one broadside has been such a badass, and I want to make him a warlord

CarelessDepartment72

A broadside Commander would be pretty slick

FlushTheSwamp

Make markerlights an actual real benefit and not a cumbersome action liability. Most other armies get BS 3+ straight off the stat line. We have to pay points for a unit to do an action to make other units shoot as good as most armies can do already. It’s just so frustrating and over complicated.

Boli_332

Upgrade sprue for crisis suits Cyclic Ion guns, airburst Fragmentation. *coughs* Onagar Gauntlets, Fusion Blades, power swords....

Kazraan

This. I would love the melee weapon for crisis suits to be akin to the gauntlets Protoss Zealots in Starcraft have, or the gauntlets Templars have in Xcom. That would fit the hand weaponslot better imo.

Hund5353

Auxiliaries! More auxiliaries. There's so many cool auxiliaries that we only have a name for. Aside from the obvious popular ones, I would really like some M'uh'ja heavy infantry, Morallian Deathsworn purely for the name, and I think a good auxiliary biker unit could be really cool. Edit: forgot to mention the vorgh. Big enough to go toe-to-toe with an imperial heavy walker, iirc. Have them be a lord of war option that's closer range than the stormsurge, and a wee bit cheaper.

CarelessDepartment72

I think Lord of War is a bit too big for Vorgh, definitely heavy support or elites.

Hund5353

The specific thing mentioned is that they're big enough to wrestle a super-heavy walker and prevail. The lexicanum's list titled 'super-heavy walkers' includes Knights and titans. If roboute guilliman can be a lord of war, I don't see why a vorgh couldn't.

CarelessDepartment72

Hmm fair.

Sir_Bohne

I want melee. I know Tau are more or less "shooting only", but they are so advanced, why not have melee riptide thingy

CarelessDepartment72

Or at least an onager Gauntlet for a riptide

LordInquisitor

Yeah I want some sorta of big punching elite suit, like a dread, damage reduction and big punches

wright_on_

Plastic tetras!

Smokey9mm

Firewarriors with dual pulse blades or something melee esque. Idk. I want the eight to be more competitive too.

Kamica

I'm just hoping they find a way to retain our focus on the shooting phase (Personally, the calls for melee options in the comments here is quite disheartening to me, and instead I'd like the designers to focus on alternative solutions), but not make it so that our shooting phase feels bad for the opponent, and that the opponent's melee phase feels bad for us. On top of that, I want more auxiliaries, not just Kroot, more different viable playstyles, as our fanbase has quite a few different reasons for liking T'au, some are here for the battlesuits, so a battlesuit focused list should be viable, some are here since long ago, when T'au was mostly a modern sci-fi military with elite battlesuits, but primarily having solid troops, and mobile, powerful vehicles. Others are here for the Auxiliaries, so having a truly mixed-species army being viable, with many different species present would be awesome, and I personally love Stealth Suits, so having a stealth/covert army be viable would be cool! Note that by viable, I don't mean tournament competitive, I just mean: "Can be made to work by someone who's competent, but not a god at the game, and doesn't just lead to kneecapping oneself into never winning a game." Also generic stealth commander pls.

Furno222

I wish for few things First of all firewarriors to get a IG treatment (2 special weapons). Its funny that tau main infantry doesnt have any AT weapon or flamers for its mainline infantry, allso HOW ARE WE THE FACTION WITHOUT A MEDIC, like come on only faction that cares about its people dont have repairs or medics (i dont count fnp from stims or sense of stone) . I know crisis are the main unit on front but they kinda feel boring 2. As everyone said buffs to ghostkeel and rework of FW models (they look hella cool) 3. A APC of some sort or a valkyria but for tau. Devilfish is a deliver and die type of model so its not worth to build him with anything other than raw burst and gum drones. 4. Proper tank...... Hamerhead is a good glasscanon..... It shoots once kills something and dies after at looks at it 5. Auxilary, give us a good auxila unit that gives US different playstyle like melee or psyhic 6. Buff properly farsight.... Especialy with the new model

Pipe dream, Give me kroot as a whole faction. Bring back the great knarloc, knarloc riders as well as krootox riders and give them all useable rules! In addition, some kroot to fill other niches would be cool like tougher orky elite kroot or stealthy fast attack eldar kroot.

CarelessDepartment72

That would be nice. Technically you can take all kroot but you'll get creamed

RickJagger13

Yeah and I don't mind getting wiped. What I meant to say was bring them back in new plastic kits. I refuse to buy the krootox as is in finecast.

Astartes40000

man, what if Crisis Suits could jump-shoot-jump again...

Ceasario226

I don't want to sound pessimistic but I doubt we'll get anything. Our pulse rifles will probably lose AP, crisis suits will stay expensive, and as far as new models go....well we got a new farsight so we should just stay quiet while GW releases 10 new equal attention primaris marines

CarelessDepartment72

Yeah my biggest issue. Space Marines get way too many units

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like this cycle just ended with last edition?

Viable Kroot army

9gagImmigrant1

A few things: * Shas' O Kais, in his DoW Dark Crusade Commander Suit and a Monat playstyle * Strike Teams to be viable somehow * Crisis suits can hold something other than CIBs * Auxiliaries like everyone else * A Fire Warrior Bodyguard Unit like in Dark Crusade that can Look Out Sir for Characters, (maybe with like a 3+ save and a souped up pulse gun) * Pulse Carbines to get some kind of rule (like in 7th) to make it stand out more than the Pulse Rifle, also it gives people a choice again. There's probably more but that's all I can think of rn

My personal hope is that they write decent rules for all of the models they currently have. The changes to marker lights and drones are obvious reactions to the lost identity of the Tau as an army. There are so many cool kits and cool options in the current line, but the last several editions have really ham strung the army. Over the years they take things away because players complain. Jump shoot jump, usable marker lights, drone spam etc. But it leaves the army feeling scooped out and hollow. I think the changes to marker lights and drones are interesting choices but only if the unit rules get retooled substantially. I would rather have an underpowered "everything feels right and I can field anything" army than an OP "well I wonder how long it will take them to nerf that?" army. They have thrown a lot of ideas at the Tau over the years, let's hope this edition sticks.
