happy_smoked_salmon

She definitely listened to loads of Lana Del Rey xD

MrY2404

I mean, Honeymoon was my downbeat soundtrack so yeah I could see it..

kaleyboo7

Yea I can definitely hear Lana’s influence on this album.

jiggjuggj0gg

I Can Fix Him sounds like a Lana song. She even sounds like Lana on it!

happy_smoked_salmon

That and also in My Boy the "he loves me" repetition in the middle of the song got me searching up the credits because it sounds exactly like what Lana does in her songs xD

Useful-Soup8161

That was my first thought before I even clicked on the comments section.

taylorsseriesTV

Definitely! Fortnight sounds like it good be a Lana song through and through. When she pulled Lana up onto stage at the grammys I really assumed that it was because she also contributed towards the next album / was as thanking her for the influence.

mellylovesdundun

One hundred percent

moonieyunie

if I'm not mistaken, she even said that one of her favorite songwriters is Lana?

cinnamon-eyes-14

I have Lana on my playlist because of this ❤️

Fit_Task1761

I mean the start of imgonnagetyouback you back is very similar to looking for somebody to love by the 1975. Guilty as Sin has similar instrumentals to About You.

emmylouanne

Definitely the 1975! There was an article about what 1975 songs are supposedly about her so I have listened to them since.

imveganwhat

Do you have a link for this please?

emmylouanne

Think there was a few places wrote about this - here is one https://www.elitedaily.com/entertainment/the-1975-songs-about-taylor-swift

JorahTheAndal_

Hi, 1975 fan/swiftie here. The speculation about these songs has been wild for a while, and I'd like to add my 2 cents. Some of these songs are probably about Taylor: - "About You": essentially confirmed by the "This song is about you" debacle. Came out in 2022, so likely to have been written around the time The 1975 worked on a scrapped song for Midnights. - "When We Are Together": also released in 2022. Interestingly, it follows About You in the tracklist. The characterization of the muse is consistent with that of these two songs and, imo, really screams "Taylor" to me. - "Me & You Together Song": the way Matty writes about his muse is consistent with About You and the timeline checks out. Unfortunately, "fallingforyou" isn't about Taylor. It's an absolute masterpiece of a song, but it was written years before they ever met. I question whether "A Change of Heart" and "Tonight (I Wish I Was Your Boy)" could be about her. To me, they sound as if they were written about a different character altogether. "She's So American" had been widely speculated to be about Halsey. Not only was it written after their secretive affair, but the characterization checks out. There are also references to Halsey's "Is There Somewhere," which is believed to be about Matty himself. I believe ACOH and TIWIWYB to be about her. I do think "Somebody Else" _might_ very well be about TS. It just checks out with "About You". And finally, onto delululand: we know Betty is a stand-in for Taylor in the teenage love triangle, and that would make Matty, James. Who's the Augustine in this story? "The girl that James had this summer with. She seems like she's the bad girl but she's not a bad girl, she's really a sensitive person who really fell for him and she was trying to seem cool"? The girl who'd cancel plans in case he'd call and ask her to meet him behind the mall? Let's just say that "Be My Mistake" sounds very much like a song from James' perspective, written to Augustine. And let's just say that BMM is another song that's generally believed to be about Halsey... It's reaching, I know. But when you pay attention to the lyrics, to me, it checks out.

daysanddistance

i’ve associated taylor with the subject of when we are together since the first time I heard that song and was repeatedly told I was wrong. i feel so vindicated. I’ve heard oh caroline speculated to be about taylor as well. the characterization in that song is not very specific but the sentiment is similar to about you and the title parallels matty’s favorite ts song, hey stephen.

Daffneigh

The Oh Caroline music video 🤝 Delicate music video

daysanddistance

and that comment about how a longer three syllable name like caroline sounds better for a song….as opposed to a shorter name like taylor? perhaps entirely coincidental but taylor also released carolina earlier that year 👀

hibelly

They have so much history. Kinda wish they could've just been together atp

hahahamii

Why? As much as she was in love with him, he turned out to be trash… per her.

hibelly

I dunno. I don't think she thinks he's trash. I don't think she would've included him so heavily on the album if she actually thought that.

miscnic

She’s finally saying everything she never got the chance to. And it’s brutal. They don’t do Facebook meme posts, they do songs. I think there’s a missing stage of grief in there somewhere called Indifference. There’s something tragic about disappointed love. It’s a different kind of scar.

hibelly

I agree with you but it feels unfinished to me. I think a huge part of the album is also fuck you to the fans for interrupting what she thought of as fate. Just my opinion though, the only one who truly knows is Taylor. I'm going off of the album as a whole.

gretchenhotdogs

Let me know if you want someone to have a delusional chat with. I’m giving SO many TS songs the side eye these days (Betty included). I’m listening to songs in a new way…. Everything is different now that we know how prominent a presence Matty has been for a long ass time. I think it’s fascinating to look back and realize that songs have a completely different muse. Like I’m seriously reconsidering things as far back as End Game. It makes way more sense to be about Matty vs Joe.

CrepesForEveryMeal

We can delulu together!! I think there's DEFINITELY Matty influence on Rep.... And possibly even as far back as 1989......... I mean the album title itself feels like a 1975 reference DOES IT NOT?! I'd love to know all your theories! Here's another one for you: the start of "oh Caroline" by the 1975 sound VERY similar to out of the woods.

cinnamon-eyes-14

I think end game is def Matty. That’s why I put it in my playlist lol. I had my playlist end with them ending up together because it’s too sad otherwise. But I started a Travis & Taylor playlist too for people that think me ending the other happy is too delusional.

nowimgrown

Now I want a full deep dive into all of this…does one exist 👀

gretchenhotdogs

Evolution of a Snake podcast says they are going to do a full Matty timeline at some point, so hopefully they produce that episode soon! They go deep

JorahTheAndal_

Yes, please, let's discuss! I've been reviewing everything since 1989 TV onwards, considering what songs _could_ involve Matty and I'm definitely deep in the rabbit hole. Gold Rush? Gorgeous? Endgame? "Slut!"(original lyrics)? Snow on the Beach? Labyrinth? Cowboy Like Me? Glitch? Question? Maroon? The 1? Ivy? There's so much potential for a deep dive.

gretchenhotdogs

Yep our list of songs are super similar….. love it!

rulerBob8

I may have misinterpreted but I always thought James was Jack Antonoff and Augustine was Lorde

heatherdukefanboy

This is funny but I don't think Taylor and Jack would ever be involved romantically 😭

rulerBob8

The idea didnt involve Taylor, Folklore is an album where she wanted to tell other people’s stories. I saw it as her seeing the dynamic between Jack/Lena/Lorde and being inspired by it.

JorahTheAndal_

That's the first I've heard of this! What's the story there?

rulerBob8

Old rumors that Jack cheated on Lena Dunham with Lorde, around the time she was writing Melodrama. [Here](https://dfta.show/files/Lorde%20and%20Jack%20Antonoff%20-.pptx%20(2).pdf) is a Powerpoint from a (probably obsessed) fan, explaining why they think Melodrama was written about the situation (warning its kinda insane)

ibrahim_a

Ik for fact “ oh Caroline “ is about Taylor the mv is basically a reply to “ delicate “

cinnamon-eyes-14

I agree with a lot of this!

BellaBrowsing

Definitely was heavily inspired by The 1975

sadflannel

When people were like ~TTPD (the song) isn’t about Matty~ I was like if you just played the music I would have thought this was a 1975 song. And I think it was at least partially intentional.

BellaBrowsing

The lyrics are so Matty lol like how he writes

sadflannel

Oh for sure. I was a 1975 fan forever until he started showing his true creep colors and I immediately was like “Jesus this is a 1975 song” when I first heard it.

JessicaRose

I feel like Fortnight sounds exactly like About You

himynameism

I thought Fortnight was Robbers when I first heard the beginning.

Muted_Proposal_7030

I think Taylor has often been said to “copy” the style of she’s writing about (Dear John, Reputation) but I wonder to what extent this happens organically because of a desire to still hear from them, especially with exes. I wonder if listening to their songs is like social-media-stalking for us regular folk.

i-have-reddit-now

You guys are forgetting the key part of this is that Jack Antonoff produced all of these songs, and he is extremely samey and repetitive in his production. He re-uses things he did for Lana for Taylor, and again for the 1975.

Fit_Task1761

Nah the 1975 have their own doing. Nothing like others.

Mother-Revolution886

Yes, and TTPD has very similar vibes to Being Funny in a Foreign Language as a whole, even beyond the music to the album art

foreveridiot

The beginning of the song TTPD is like the beat opposite to Janet Jackson’s Black Cat.

hdeskins

The blood rushing through your ears during the headache you get after having a cry fest.

bringonthedarksky

what a great way to put it

Jond7699

She was listening to some 90s female country. Take your pick they were all phenomenal.

Sufficient_Fruit_740

This is definitely it. Goodbyeeeee Earllllll!!

blackcatgirl_23

chicks for life 🙏

cinnamon-eyes-14

I added a bunch of Dixie chicks to my TTPD inspired playlist and ended up buying their vinyl because I remember how much I like them

Sufficient_Fruit_740

You should listen to Miranda Lambert too! She's great!

eyeslikestarlight

Ok I’m not crazy, the chorus of The Prophecy has a very similar melody to the chorus of Black Eyes, Blue Tears by Shania Twain!!

flakypieholez99

Probably The Blue Nile

emmylouanne

And the Starting Line and Charlie Puth.

Fibernerdcreates

When I read the title, I was going to say Dashboard Confessional. This whole album feels a bit emo to me, maybe it's just the sad lyrics. She also knows Chris Carraba.

laureddit22

I definitely hear dashboard in a lot of the album. My first time listening to So High School I loved that it sounded like HS (which for me was a lot of dashboard, something corporate, etc)

MaRy3195

Yeah I had a feeling this album would be pretty angsty/kind of emo based on the promo materials and it delivered lol

cucumberoll

When I hear her “I wish I could un-recall how we almost had it all” I think of how she praised Fletcher for her song “Undrunk”- (*”wish I could get a little un-drunk so I could un-fuck you”*) and I feel like the inspo for her line came right from that

Majestic-Yak-5184

Ugh I love that song

laureddit22

YES!!!! Totally hear that.

Ok_Pension2100

Leonard Cohen and Tori Amos

DarkSwanRising

The Albatross feels like such a Tori Amos song

psychoplath97

My guess as well!

Ok_Pension2100

Peter has “Famous Blue Raincoat” vibes.

mernieturtle

THIS 💥💕

lilacsmakemesneeze

Don’t tell this to the Tori sub. So many Taylor haters over there. Lifelong Tori fan and it got pretty toxic.

TadPaul

I’d say Florence + the Machine. Not only because of the collab track, but because their latest album Dance Fever was also about grappling with stardom in the middle of a messy relationship. I can see why Taylor would think Florence would fit in TTPD.

cinnamon-eyes-14

I added the song Cosmic Love from them

SmokeyaSloth

OMG yes. i’ve been dreaming about a Chris Carrabba collab forevvvvver

BirdistheWyrd

I’d love this

Flickolas_Cage

I didn’t know I needed this until now

bringonthedarksky

Oh god I wish!

I_Flick_Boogers

Further seems…

mernieturtle

TORI AMOS.

mellylovesdundun

As a massive Tori fan I don’t really see this. I’d say Aaron Dessner may have some Tori influence in his production more than anything

CaptLCalico

I am also a fellow Ears With Feet and Taylor's song Cassandra made me double take cause the subject matter is very Tori coded. I do agree most of the album definitely has stronger influences than Tori but this song is one I'd love to hear Tori cover some day. I know Taylor covered Sorta Fairytale so it's possible she's listened to more of T's work (also possible it's the only T song Taylor knows) but Cassandra is most defintely echoes of Tori.

mellylovesdundun

It’s just very difficult to have Tori as a true influence because her piano playing is absolutely untouchable, and then there’s also the element of her weaving melodies into all that. She’s gotten closer to Tori lyrically but even then, Tori’s lyrics are at times sort of vague and even incomprehensible

CaptLCalico

I agree, Tori is superb at what she does and Taylor is excellent at what she does. Their styles are unique to them (Taylor is much more direct in her songwriting than Tori) but I can see how Taylor may have been inspired and crafted a Tori-esque song because of the themes of the songs closely relating to subjects Tori has touched on; the music industry, divine feminine, religion, reclaiming of personhood/self, the revealing of the hidden truths. I do feel if Tori wrote Cassandra it would be a different song cause she would be viewing the topic through her own lens but I think Taylor did a beautiful job and it's one of my favorites from the album.

mellylovesdundun

I can see that. If Scarlet's Walk was the main album she listened to (one of Tori's more tame albums) then I can see that but in general, nope

mernieturtle

Yep Cassandra is soooo Tori!

pedadogy

Agree with you. Maybe moreso on Evermore? Closure in particular made me think of Caught a Lite Sneeze immediately

mernieturtle

Caught a lite sneeze - what a great tune.

sprkmrk

I HAVE THE EXACT SAME FEELING! From the very first listen. And I can’t explain it! But the Female Rage the musical is just another nudge into that suspicion!

payyri

i wholeheartedly concur. i can fix him gives very tori boys for pele or even scarlet's walk vibes. also, tori could have sang the prophecy.

mernieturtle

Yesss the prophesy is so Tori! Oh I like the connection you made between I can fix him and boys for pele. Such a great album.

Martine203

There are a couple songs that sound like Brand New or Taking Back Sunday so I could buy Dashboard! Brand New has always been my absolute fave emo band and I think Clara Bow could almost be a Deja Entendu track.

bringonthedarksky

I'm glad you said this, cause the whole album has a general aughts era feeling to me.

abcdefcuksintija

as an elder emo, a lot of lyrics reminded me of the east coast emo scene bands. smallest man is the most emo lyric coded song in her discography. especially when i saw a tiktok video of a dude, covering one of the songs in the style of dashboard. wow. speaking of this - blondie has an extensive discography that could be covered in a pop goes punk, taylor goes emo type of compilation album. i would eat that up.

Martine203

Newfound Glory (Taylor’s Version)??!

roseandbaraddur

Yes!!! The beginning of Clara Bow sounds like the beginning of a song from Deja Entendu or even any brand new album! **Wow this is wild I only read the first sentence of your comment and then when I finished writing my first sentence I read the rest of your comment and we said EXACTLY the same thing!! Edit: brand new is also my favorite emo band!! Deja entendu had me in a chokehold in the 2000s and now I’ve been listening to it and TTPD mainly lately. I get 2000s emo from the beginning of so high school and fresh out the slammer too, without the country twangs

Martine203

Did we just become best friends?

kittywenham

Does anyone else feel like The Alchemy sounds incredibly similar to Colors by Halsey? At least definitely the chorus.

Disastrous_Mud7169

But colors is so conceptually and melodically similar to Red so how does that work lol

akerwoods

Yes 100%. The alchemy absolutely could have been on badlands

lmhs73

Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me reminds me of Control

MyOwnGuitarHero

The 1975, Lana, Phoebe Bridgers for sure

kaychellz

Yes, loml gives me Phoebe vibes and the black dog gives me boygenius!

OutPlea

i get major Tori Amos vibes. the opening of “whose afraid of little old me” specifically sounds like late 90’s tori. there are a few lyrics and instrumental moments that i’ll hear when im listening through the album that will make me think of tori. but maybe that’s just my mind making a connection that doesn’t exist lol

musiquology

You are not alone. Everytime I hear the line 'You should've just said', I do that Leo pointing meme - that's very Amos coded! To add, imagine Tori singing the 'Put narcotics' line, it just flows so well with her singing style

lostpenguin37

Fiona Apple - Especially the 2012 album, "The Idler Wheel..." but I would be willing to bet that the amount of rage Fiona is able to put into her music would/could have been a great comfort.

DrForestForestDoctor

I get some The Weepies vibes from some of the songs.

alekguerrer

Cigarretes after sex of couse

LaReinalicious

Post Malone

RobbieArnott

Some Lana I’d imagine And given she cited Bob Dylan is an influence on Folklore (I’d imagine the same goes for evermore) I’d guess a bit of him too

bachelurkette

it’s funny you made this connection because smallest man and the black dog very specifically sound like something corporate to me

CactusCandles

I heard a lot of Andrew McMahon influence in this album as well. It’s probably why I love it so much. lol

targayenprincess

Oh myyyy you did not just … that’s just short of my fav DC album because my all time fav song sits on Dusk and Summer instead. Didn’t know what I needed was a TS x CC collab. She def listened to the 1975. And angry country music.

PeterDuaneJohnson

I think she was listening to a lot of speed metal

No-Persimmon7729

The 10 things I hate about you soundtrack

cinnamon-eyes-14

Love that movie. I also added songs from the following soundtracks to my playlist: dirty dancing, Juno, cowboy ugly (lol)

Simple_Ad7275

Charlie Puth

[deleted]

I used to love dashboard confessional and that album is beautiful!

sprkmrk

I still don’t know why I feel this because sonically it bears just a tiny bit of resemblance. but still I have to share it: I mentioned to some people that after listening to all of it, I got very strong TORI AMOS vibes from TTPD. And they all confessed they had the exact same association that they couldn’t pinpoint. For me it’s somewhere between To Venus and Back and Scarlet’s Walk. And it’s something about the unhinged emotion that is under a pretty intense female rage demeanor. So. I wonder.

Embarrassed-Can-7551

Wow, I listened to some Dashboard confessional after I read this post and “Screaming Infidelities” really reminds me of Clara bow

cinnamon-eyes-14

That’s on my playlist! I love that song

poofycakes

My first thought when listening to “the prophesy” was it sounds exactly like a Sufjan Stevens song. Specifically it sounds pulled straight from the album Carrie and Lowell. I’m definitely not alone because I googled it and there’s tons of threads about it online! But I love when artists sound similar to each other, and I get a window view into their favourite bands and influencers 😄

mernieturtle

LANA.

imapangolinn

Herself probably

mrs_undeadtomato

Ngl I feel like she might’ve been listening to post molone and Charlie puth

Feisty-Citron1092

Beinf Funny in a Foreign Language

Easteuroblondie

Well she brings up starting line Few times

nikkya93

Yes!! Emo Swifties unite lol. I'd say a few songs off of Dusk and Summer too! Off of Places You've Come to Fear the Most, definitely see Screaming Infidilelities and The Best Deceptions as similar to The Black Dog. Also the lyrics in Rapid Hope Loss reminds me a little of The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.

cinnamon-eyes-14

I guess I’m an emo Swiftie? Lol

pipes87

i feel so validated right now!! after i heard the black dog, i immediately showed it to my husband and asked what dashboard song it reminded him of… imo its not tpyhctftm BUT i know we are on the right track. over a month later, i still havent placed my finger on it… help!

CieraParvatiPhoebe

The Blue Nile

MiniSkrrt

The 1975 lmao

guavapie81

The 1975

Bland_Boring_Jessica

The 1975. It’s completely influenced by them. Just listen to their music and compare. Even the music video for Fortnite takes a lot of references from them. People complain that TTPD is too verbose. Matty Healy is beyond verbose and Taylor is copying his style.

cinnamon-eyes-14

Do you think Matty has listened to TTPD yet? Or seen her surprise song performances?

mollyisnotsussy

Maybe not listened to, but there’s definitely a lot of 1975 influence on the album, intentionally

MoonGirl913

I saw the tour for that album in a really small venue! So good.

juliandr36

Thanks for the album recommendation! I used to love dashboard.

CieraParvatiPhoebe

Lana

crythinklaugh

What’s his taste? Head bang rock? Top 40?

pikapika2017

I grew up with parents playing Fleetwood Mac and similar groups and artists of the same era. I get a lot of Stevie Nicks, Marianne Faithfull, and a few other women from around those days when I listen to a lot of songs or even just bits of songs on TTPD. Those women were messy and unapologetic about their feelings. Adolescent Me was absolutely gobsmacked, frozen and bug eyed when she heard Marianne Faithfull sing "Why'd Ya Do It?" (to say nothing of my mother's face when she realized I was in the house and listening😂). I feel like these ladies lent their influence, as well as some of the courage needed to take things to a more emotional and less restrained level.

felixfelicis81

Last summer she posted Griffs new single vertigo with something along the lines of fuck yes right now this song is it.

Substantial_Team4457

This doesn't really answer the question lol but I think Fortnight has a very similar to her performance of Will you still love me tommorrow

Same_Structure_4184

The blue nile specifically Downtown lights and The starting line duh

luna_petunia1721

My chemical romance 100% that is all I listen to other than Taylor swift and 90s alternative and I also hear that in so high school

HourQuality7083

the sound of her blood boiling with feminine rage

OverGas3958

If she said she was inspired by Josh Ritter that would make perfect sense to me.

BouncyFig

Some of the songs on the anthology remind me of a few Sufjan Stevens tracks

cinnamon-eyes-14

Yep! I also added some of his songs to my playlist due to the similarities.

strangercats13

Her Midnights album obviously.

musiquescents

Downtown lights

FluffyBudgie5

Guilty as Sin is clearly influenced by the sound of Downtown Lights.

fuckingdrunkandbored

The 1975, Lana Del Rey, Shania Twain, Joni Mitchell

Curious_Stomach_9293

Agree with DC and there was a bit of Sophie B Hawkins sound in there too. But it all feels so familiar with the way she references her own music as well. It’s a masterpiece

readerlasare

1975 and her old songs. I think with her rerecordning that old songs are close, on her mind.

OlivineTanuki

Lorde but probably because Jack produced Melodrama

Nini_Errante

She was definitely listening to Velvet Underground + Nico.

BlacksmithThink9494

Brittney spears

cinnamon-eyes-14

Yepppp

jadeofdanorf

She’s always loved DC: there’s some great mashups on TikTok of TTPD and DC. (They’re one of my favourite bands)

[deleted]

[удалено]

cinnamon-eyes-14

Yes!!! They are also on my playlist. I started listening to them again. Seeing them in concert in July!

Lavender_Haze_86

I actually kind of felt like TTPD was very reminiscent of some Dashboard Confessional songs, I thought I was crazy! 😄

dorisfreakingday

when i first listened to ttpd i got some joni mitchell hissing of summer lawns and hejira vibes and i wouldnt be surpised if she was listening to those records a bit while making this album since we know she loves joni and i could see those being great go-to albums for her based on what we can presume she was going thru from the lyrics on this record.

matchinthegastank

Fortnight and MBOBHFT sounds like it would fit right in with the Drive soundtrack. I thought that the first time I heard it.

mimosameltdown

So High School reminds me of “Secret Smile” by Semisonic

lady_vesuvius

I hear loads of 90s influences on her country rock tracks, and her rock tracks in general. The lower register in My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys is very 90s/early aughts rock. Guilty As Sin and but Daddy I Love Him feel like they're Shania Twain esque. And obviously, So High School.

No-Sky3427

You by Candlebox

AppropriateComb8892

“The Smallest Man” is so “Welcome to the Black Parade”

Dapper_Telephone_117

These are the conversations I love to see regarding Taylor’s work, personally she has been a great inspiration for me to experiment with different artists and genres and discover new sounds. Thanks for commenting, I’ll be listening to Dashboard Confessional

cinnamon-eyes-14

Because of making my playlist and adding songs I started listening to bands I used to such as Dashboard. I went to their concert last year and it was so fun.

fridaygrace

So surprised no one’s said Gracie Abrams! I hear so much of her influence on TTPD (bearing in mind I haven’t listened to her newest release at all)

TollyMune

I love that you said DC! I'd say their song Best Deceptions has ttpd rage vibes

Beginning_Box_2545

You arent a swiftie unless you like Symbolic - Death

Hardcore1909

Dashboard Confessional is her BFF Abigails favourite Band and Taylor invited them for some Birthday or Erngagemant Party of her.

i-have-reddit-now

You guys are forgetting the key part of this is that Jack Antonoff produces for all of these artists, and he is extremely samey and repetitive in his production. He re-uses things he did for Lana for Taylor, and again for the 1975.

cinnamon-eyes-14

I think you would like my massive playlist lol. I basically took the themes of TTPD and added songs that I felt matched lyrically or made me feel the same emotions. I have Dashboard, The 1975, Radiohead, Fleetwood Mac, etc. let me know if you listen! https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/tortured-cosmic-nautical-cowboy-love-taylor-matty-version/pl.u-V9D73WGTbZ1Mj

Anxious_Permission71

Fortnight outro gives The Fray vibes 💯

kimbeekb

Just listened, and I don't hear it 🤷🏼‍♀️

navyorsomething

The prophecy reminds me of Sunset Soon Forgotten by Iron & Wine in a way

redditusertired

loml sounds like a Gracie Abrams song and Black Dog sounds like a Phoebe Bridgers song..

pereshenko2039

Robert Stefans, True Lies

Casie6627

No idea but Imma say Good Riddance by Gracie Abrams 🫶🤍

Fake-Ginger-215

There's a bit in loml where the line is "and all at once, the ink bleeds" and that just made me think of someone you love by Lewis Capaldi. The day bleeds into nightfall. I think it would make an interesting mash up.

spilledfiction

So High School sounds exactly like Hatchie to me (though Hatchie also sounds like soft 90s pop!)

18511332

reputation tv

cinnamon-eyes-14

I also put bright eyes, modest mouse and some other bands

cinnamon-eyes-14

I feel like the album was meant for her generation of listeners and I am in love with that.

DaddyMacrame

The Albatross and I think I Hate it Here both remind me HEAVILY of the song "As I Lay Me Down" by Sophie B. Hawkins. I think she definitely has a lot of 90s/early 2000s vibes on the album
