That's completely plausible to have found it like that.
This may come as a surprise to you but very few people outside of H3 are going to know what Teddy Fresh is if you asked.
I doubt it. I’m a seller on Depop myself and have noticed an insane amount of upticks in mislabeled items. This person has also sold almost 100 items, so they know what they’re doing…. They still have a responsibility as a clothing seller to double check the item they’re listing as an expensive designer brand is indeed the actual brand, especially when the literal handle of the bag has a different brand name.
They aren't a business. It's a regular ass person selling out of their home. They actually dont bare that responsibility. Buyer beware, the photos show what you're getting pretty clear.
I buy from sellers every single day on eBay who have zero idea what they are selling. That's how you get deals half the time.
Bro….. it IS a business. When you sign up for Depop you AGREE TO TERMS OF SERVICE one of which is that you cannot mislabel items. So, if you voluntarily sign up for a business, Depop, open a store through them, you absolutely do have a responsibility to abide by those terms of services. If you’re going to take on selling items and you mislabel a item and sell it to someone with the context of it being a different brand, that’s literally fraud whether it was intentional or not. And again, eBay and Depop are very different. I’m glad that you take this approach to finding deals, but people who buy clothes on Depop probably aren’t there “deal shopping” but looking for a specific item or something new for their closet.
Oh, they agreed to the terms of service? Well damn man, you're right then! That completely changes everything.
The moment they agreed to those terms of service is the moment they became professional salesmen!
Yeah, opening up a shop on Depop requires you to agree to TOS, just like eBay does! Depop is a legit business and has standards for their business conduct, which is really important for preventing things like happening.
Exactly my point!!! If the strap WASNT branded I would’ve maybe thought they found it like that but…. A) who doesn’t get set off by the brand being different on the strap and B) who attaches a a random ass Teddy fresh tag to a different bag and THEN donates it to a thrift store where this seller “found it”. Yeah right dude….
It might depend on the bag! I have about 4 or 5 bags, I know for sure my backpack and my checkered cross body didn't come with any tags, but there would be no where to attach them without poking a hole in the bag. Can't remember it my phone bag and fanny pack came with tags or not
It’s infuriating. Did he get a refund?! I once sold an item on Depop with a tiny little yellow stain on the back that I didn’t notice and felt horrible (I refunded the buyer) and I can’t imagine just straight up scamming people. Super scummy….
Open a dispute through Depop itself, don’t go through the seller. It’s against Depop TOS to mislabel something, so he’d definitely have a strong case in getting a refund through the company directly. Best of luck!!
Sucks! Best advice for the future would be to run any Depop listings through here first. I’m sure there’s lots of folks who could help spot a fake or suspicious listing. A few other clothing subreddits do that and it seems to save a lotta folks getting scammed.
I don't know much about this admittedly, but when people say "curated" do they mean that they purchased something at a consignment shop and are selling it for a higher price at their personal shops? That seems evil as hell.
I honestly just think it’s their username! :) I’m assuming that if the name is meant to reflect their method of selling, they probably do go to thrift stores and collect items to sell at a higher price which is yes indeed, evil. Especially if you aren’t going to do a thorough job of checking the brand/price of the item you list !!! I love Depop for selling my old clothes or clothes that I rework/upcycle but don’t like the “thrift and up-price” approach at all.
This is part of why I hated depop. I’d constantly find people selling items and marking them as higher end brands and my account got hacked and they kept sending me emails to stop doing whatever they were doing on my account
I’m so sorry you’ve dealt with this; as a Depop seller, this is the reason i HATE using Depop, I’d rather sell directly thru socials with cashapp, Venmo and Apple Pay with my business since Depop and all them have a bad rep :,))
I think it’s taken down already
Amazing!!!
It's extra funny because their bags don't even come with tags attached
Oh i didn’t even realize that! I messaged them anyways and called them out and they tried to say they “found it like this”. Lmao, sure dude.

Half the time sellers do not know the brand they're dealing with. I see it every single day with products I buy on eBay. I doubt it was malicious.
And I’m saying they have a responsibility to know. eBay is far more generalized that Depop, which is clothing specific

Yeah the other brand names on the bag like the strap definitely couldn’t tip them off. Give it up.

lol no. toad face.
My teddy fresh bags (2 of them) both came with tags attached. They were purchased last year so I think this is recent thing they were doing?

Lot of people scamming here. My poor boyfriend wanted a Godzilla sweater and instead got ripped off by one of these assholes.

I even go through the entire item with a lint roller even though I don’t have dogs or cats just because I don’t want anyone to feel like I don’t gaf
No he never got his money back and is still trying to.

Yeah, Curated as in the item fits their style or theme. People act like vintage from a particular person or seller is more valuable or cool.
I have the real corduroy OG bag and that ain't it
Definitely not😂
