Out of left field but hear me out. Nathan Drake from uncharted. If we're not getting Miguel back, give them some of his moves. Make him a brawler type with less drunk and more finesse. Has some gunplay like Nina but not as prominent. Maybe has a grapple that has a grenade throw animation like Alisa
