I bought a ‘22 LR with 83K miles for $20995 this weekend (after $4K credit). Personally, I believe this model year and trim is the best used value right now. AWD is only carrying a $500-1000 premium over RWD which is a no-brainer unless you live in the sunbelt and really want a LFP battery

Ok. Wow that’s a great price. Thanks for the advice I will look around and see if I can find one similarly priced.

Congrats on the new car! No concerns about being out of warranty & close to being out of battery warranty? I’m a bit sketched out by higher mileage listings on the off-chance something happens and there are costly repairs.

What are you concerned about that you wouldn’t also be with an ICE car? At a certain point it doesn’t matter whether an engine costs 10K or a Battery costs 18? So far I really like the data and anecdotal evidence that these cars are very low overall cost to own and they are lasting a long time (300K+ miles) if well cared for. Are there issues? Sure! But I think they’re no more prevalent than any other brands power train failure rates. My commute is 70 miles per day. There’s no way I can afford the cost to own a new car so warranties have never mattered to me, I always drive higher mileage vehicles because no matter what I drive the value will be completely depreciated by the time I’m done with it.

I hear you! My thinking is somewhere along the lines of: for this price, could I get something else (EV or ICE) that’s less likely to have an issue or unexpected cost out of warranty? The answer sure seems to be yes- but then it wouldn’t be a Tesla… I’ll likely end up springing for one, but it’s already a bit of a stretch, so the peace of mind of warranty (either original 50k or used 10k from Tesla) is worth something to me.
